Will this work with my existing alarm system using zwave?

Kwikset Smartcode 914 Z-Wave will be compatible with any third-party HUB that runs the same frequency as the lock. Kwikset offers Z-Wave and Zigbee please be sure to purchase the correct frequency.

Can this lock be keyed to your existing key? If yes how do you do that?

Kwikset SmartCode Z-Wave Deadbolt Lock comes with the SmartKey technology that allows the product to be re-keyed at the consumer level by following the re-keying instructions but is not compatible with other brands.

Will this lock work directly from my home WiFi , with a app?

Kwikset SmartCode Z-Wave Deadbolt lock comes the Z-Wave technology. Smartcode Z-Wave door locks are not connected via internet and are not Wi-Fi enabled devices. Smartcode locks are equipped with Z-Wave technology. In order for a Z-Wave device to work, they need to be paired to a Z-Wave controller. The controller is the main gateway to control all your Z-Wave devices that are enrolled to the wireless mesh. Some controllers work off your existing router via an Ethernet cable while others work through GSM radio (like cellular phones). You need to research different controllers in the market and find which one best suits your needs.

When I become ill and call 911, can I unlock the front door with my smartphone when I hear the ambulance arrive? From my bedroom to let the EMT's in?

Does this only work with wifi. Also, how will it function if the battery died?

The Kevo lock communicates via Bluetooth wireless technology with your Kevo-compatible smart device (phone, tablet or another mobile internet-connected device) or Kevo fob. If your smart device battery dies, you can always use the Kevo fob or a standard key to unlock your door. You can also sign into the app on another supported smart device, and your eKeys will be instantly transferred to it. As with any lock, we recommend you have access to a backup key.
