The previous 10 inch model was able to output with HDMI via USB adapter 1080p but only at 30 hertz. Can this newer model do better than that? Like 1080p at 60 hertz instead? Or even better? I really would like to use external monitors occasionally.

No sound on my laptop
Be sure that your system speakers are off mute. Hold down the Fn Key and tap the HotKey in the F1 position on your keyboard. This toggles the system audio on/off. Then try holding down the Fn Key and tapping the HotKey in the F3 position on your keyboard to increase system audio volume up. Is MS Office installed on this? If not, will Excel and Word work ok on this?
This Lenovo Chromebook 3 14 uses Google Docs for office type programs. Google Docs is completely compatible with Microsoft Office Programs and this is a free service through the Google Server (Google Sheets is the equivalent to Excel and Google Docs is the equivalent to Word). If you must have the actual Microsoft Office Programs, you can purchase Microsoft Office 365 for this Chromebook at the Google Play Store.
