The Lenovo IdeaPad S340-15 laptop, model number 81QG0007US, ships with 12GB (4GB OnBoard + 8GB DIMM). 4GB is soldered to the motherboard and there is an additional 8GB of RAM in the one RAM memory slot. Having two different RAM formats, one soldered one in a memory slot, this RAM can not run as dual channel. You have to have 2 ram modules of the same speed AND the same size for it to run as dual channel.
