Can I change out parts? For example change the graphics card, CPU, Motherboard etc.
There is no graphics card within this configuration. Graphics processing is integrated within the AMD A9-9425 processor. It is the AMD Radeon R5 Graphics version. Any upgrades would be dependent on the compatibility with the 65W external power supply.

Can this computer handle plex server?
That really will depend on the requirements and compatibility of the software you will be running. We recommend you check with the software publisher's web site for their compatibility with Windows 10 S-Mode 64-bit operating system (Windows 10 S-Mode provides added security by only allowing APPs available ( and therefore certified by Microsoft) at the Microsoft Store. If you don't need the added security or you need to install APPs not available at the Microsoft Store, you can switch to standard Windows 10 Home 64-bit Operating System, at no additional cost.) and the minimum/recommended hardware requirements (Is a Graphics card required, the processor speed and the minimum required system RAM and the minimum available hard drive space) to run their program, then compare those requirements to this system's configuration.

Is the installed battery a consumer replaceable item, or does the unit require tech service to change/replace the battery ?? TYVM -
Only a certified technician can replace the battery within this model.

Exactly where and what type USB ports? possibly... 2 USB A 3.0 on front, 2 USB A 3.0 on back, 1 USB C 3.0 on front? I assume you can't use the front ports unless you have the door open and wires coming out the front.
There are four standard USB ports and one USB-c 3.0 port, on the front of the device, behind the door on the right side. Two standard USB 3.0 and two standard USB 3.1 ports. There is an additional four standard USB 2.0 ports on the back of the computer. The specs say no to backlite keyboard but the description says that it is???? So is the keyboard a backlite keyboard?
This model does not have a backlit keyboard.

I'm having a problem with viewing a dual display using a 27" monitor, any suggestions
You should be able to connect two monitors to the Lenovo IdeaCentre 310s desktop, one via the VGA port one via the HDMI port. I just bought this, and it arrived today. How do a use the keyboard backlight? Your website specifies it has it, but I can't figure it out. Also why is there no manual?
