How much of an improvement can I expect if I upgrade to 16g?

That will depend on the software and workload you create through multi-tasking. We recommend you check with the most demanding software you use for the recommended RAM for that software. If you are a multi-task user, you will find you can have more windows/programs open without lag with increased RAM.
