How long does the factory warranty last? I am an A+ Certified Technician so I will be replacing the HD myself. Is the HD soldered? If not what are the specifications? Also, is that a CD drive I see?

The Lenovo IdeaPad 330-17 laptop comes with a limited 1-year manufacturer's warranty for OEM issues. The 2.5" 7mm SATA hard drive is not soldered. Model number 81DM001UUS does have an optical drive.

Is it good for educational purpose

That really depends on the software you will need to use. We recommend you check with the software publisher's web sites of the software you will be using on the computer, for their compatibility with Windows 10 Home 64-bit operating system and the minimum/recommended hardware requirements (Is a Graphics card required, the processor speed and the minimum required system RAM and the minimum available hard drive space) to run their program, then compare those requirements to this system's configuration.
