Upgrades
Can you upgrade the the memory to 8gb and throw in a 500gb solid state drive, or will that be too much for it to handle?
This is an entry level system. The Celeron processor in this system does not need 8GB of RAM. Not sure a 500GB SSD would fit in the box.

I read a review online saying that this best buy model was actually mismarked and that it actually weighed 4.2 pounds instead of 3.85 pounds. Can someone weigh the laptop and tell me if this is true?

Why does it run so slow.
Seems to have something always running in the background. Should be faster.
There may be programs starting at boot up that you are not using that can be slowing your system down. You might want to take a look at this article from PC Magazine about speeding up a Windows 10 system:

There is a VGA out port on this system, as well as an HDMI-out port. You can run two monitors on this system, out of the box, using the HDMI-out and VGA ports. As far as Geek Squad Services, you'll need to check with your nearest Best Buy Store for details.
