what kind of graphics card can I upgrade to in this desktop that will fit and run it? I want something like the gtx 960 but I think it would be to big and wouldn't fit. I'm also upgrading to 16gb of ram if that affects what graphics card I can get or not

You'll need to consult a certified technician for upgrading this system, as all work must be done by a certified technician so as to not void the warranty. A replacement card would have to be compatible with the current graphics card in the system, the NVIDIA GeForce GT 730.

It depends on the type of work you will be doing for the degree program. This system will be good for Microsoft Office projects, online research and email. This is an entry-level, light use system.
