I am concerned that with a 4K ultra HD monitor applications whose content does not utilize this feature will appear differently on the screen. And what about videos, movies? It seems this technology has not caught on in the majority of applications.

This system is backward compatible to lower resolution content. You will be able to view lower resolution content on this system without any issue.

Can this product edit videos for like youtube?

We recommend you check with the editing software publisher you plan on using for their compatibility with the Chrome Operating System, which this system uses. You can't download APPs to this device, so the software will have to be cloud-based.

Looking for a long term reliable system for home office, and large photo and music capacity. How does this Levano 8gb 1tb hold up? I am not clear on how the gb works outside the tb capacity for storage and performance

This system runs Windows 10 Home as its operating system, according to Microsoft, Windows 10 is the most stable operating system they have produced. If you keep you virus protection up to date there should be no problem there. Also this system uses an Intel Core I-7 processor. Intel is the #1 processor manufacturer in the world. The 8GB RAM is solid state, no moving parts, so it should last for at least 10 years. The 1TB hard drive should always be backed up on to an external archive drive.
