Why do they advertise backlit keyboard? I just purchased one and that is a major disappointment.

I do not see any mention of a backlit keyboard on the web page for this device. The only mention of "backlighting" is the LED backlighting of the screen.

can i buy a special lenovo and get larger hdd?

This system only comes with a 256 SSD internal drive, but you can add more SSD memory by using the SD card slot. You can add an addition 512GB of storage by using an SD card.
