Hi - The VTech CS6909 is an expansion handset only. It doesn't come with a telephone base, only a charging cradle. It needs to be registered to a telephone base model CS6919 or CS6929 phone series.

Does the base unit or the screen on the base unit of the IS8151-5 display the total number of voice mail messages? The 5 handset V-tech system using DS6421-3 + 2 DS6401 has a red digital display of the total number of messages on the base unit .

How to set the date and time? When I press NEXT on the screen "nothing" happens!

Hi - Here's how you can set the date and time on the VTech IS8151-5.

1. Press MENU on the telephone when not in use.
2. Press the arrow down button to choose Set date/time and then press SELECT.
3. Use the dialing keys (0-9) to enter the month (MM), date (DD) and year (YY). Then press SELECT.
4. Use the dialing keys (0-9) to enter the hour (HH) and minute (MM). Then press the arrow down button choose AM or PM.
5. Press SELECT to save.

WHY DOES MY V TECH IS8151-4 KEEP JUMPING 2 HOURS AHEAD? HOW DO i CORRECT IT?

Hi - We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with the VTech IS8151-4. The telephone system has a feature that will automatically set the time and date based on the Caller ID details. You can turn the feature off for the manually set time and date not to change when receiving a call.

1. Press MENU when the telephone is not in use.
2. Press CID down on the handset or telephone base to scroll to Settings, then press SELECT.
3. Press CID down on the handset or telephone base to scroll to CID time sync, then press SELECT.
4. Press CID down on the handset or telephone base to highlight Off, then press SELECT to save.

Can I pair each cell phone to ring to only a specific handset? For example, I want my cellphone to ring only the handset in my home office, while my wife’s cell phone would only ring the handset in her home office.

Hi - The VTech IS8151-4 will ring on all incoming cellular calls from the paired cellphone. Regretfully, there is no setting to choose which calls it will receive from a paired cellphone.

Is there a voice mail indicator light?

Hi - The VTech IS8151-4 does not have a Voicemail light indicator. Instead, the display screen will show "New Voicemail" when a new Voicemail notification is sent by your telephone service provider.
