Hi - The VTech SN5147 does not require internet connection to function. It needs to be plugged in to AC power and active landline service to function.

My screen is blank phone is only 6 months old and nothing has happened to it. I can dial out and receive calls but cannot see the screen at all.

Wait for 1 minute before reconnecting the AC power and batteries, then test the unit again. Does baby unit have battery? Dm221-2. Parent unit both have batteries. Baby monitor does not. If power goes out parent unit works but baby unit doesn’t. Is this correct?

On VTech dm222-2 baby monitor. Can you just use one parent monitor or do you always have to use two?

Willow - Yes, you have the option to just use one parent unit on the VTech DM222-2. The baby unit though needs to be plugged in to AC power for the system to function.

When we call out, the person answering cannot hear us; however, if they call us, they can hear us fine. What is the problem and how can we fix it?

If i have the split camera is the volume ON on both cameras, meaning if either child cries, would i be able to hear them?

Mely - The audio on the VTech RM7766-2HD will be silenced when on split view. Instead, you will get a notification alert tone when the baby unit detects an activity.
