Does this have a port to add copier/fax machine?
Hi - No, the VTech CS6629-3 does not have an auxiliary port to connect other devices to the base. You may use a splitter if you need to add another device or equipment using one jack. Thank you! - VTech Support

Patti - The message alert tone of the VTech IS8151-5 can be turned on or off. Here's the procedure on how to set the message alert tone.
1. When the telephone base is not in use, press MENU Softkey to enter the main menu.
2. Press SELECT Softkey select Answering sys.
3. Press ▼ to scroll to Ans sys setup, then press SELECT Softkey.
4. Press ▼ to scroll to Msg alert tone, then press SELECT Softkey.
5. Press ▼ or ▲ to choose On or Off.
6. Press SELECT Softkey to save the setting. You will hear a confirmation tone.

How do I reset to ring more times before the answering machine clicks on ? How do I set date/time ?
PEGSPHONE - Here's the procedure on how to set the number of rings of the Answering system and how to set the date and time on the VTech CS5129.
To set the number of rings:
1. Press MENU when the phone is not in use.
2. Press ▼ to choose Answering sys and then press SELECT.
3. Press ▼ to choose Ans sys setup and then press SELECT.
4. Press ▼ to choose # of rings and then press SELECT.
5. Press ▼ or ▲ to choose 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 or Toll saver and then press SELECT to save. You will hear a confirmation tone.
To set the date and time:

This VTech CM18445 corded phone is compatible with anywhere from 1 to 4 telephone lines and connects wirelessly with up to 10 handsets. The digital answering system records up to 180 minutes of messages, announcements and memos.
When I pick up my handset, why does the line go on hold when I switch to another line. I should be able to toggle from line to line .
Winster - The VTech CM18445 has an auto hold feature wherein the line that is currently on an active call is put on hold automatically when you press another line button. It does not disconnect the call automatically if you switch to a different line. The auto hold feature allows you to switch back and forth easily on different lines by just pressing the line buttons. I need an answering machine that will allow me to record 3-4 messages that I can select from on a given day. Such as, a message that is good for M, W and F, a message that is good for Thursday and a weekend message.

how does VTECH CS5129 differ from VTECH CS56729?
Bobt - The difference between the VTech CS5129 and CS6729 is that the CS5129 has a built-in Call Block feature and the answering system capacity is 23 minutes compared to the CS6729 which is 14 minutes. The CS5129 is compatible with VTech cordless headset model IS6200. However, the CS6729 has 9 speed dial location and has 50 caller ID log capacity while the CS5129 does not have speed dial feature and has 30 caller ID log capacity only. Thank you! - VTech Support

The accessory cordless handset is compatible only to the main base models CS6719/CS6729/CS6758/CS6759/CS6829/CS6859 series.
