how to make it work?

I went into my local Best Buy and saw one of these on the floor and instantly wanted it, so I asked someone working there how it worked (just to confirm to myself). He wasn't quite sure beyond what it said on the packaging, so he opened it and let me try it on my phone (2013 nexus 5) and I plugged it in and nothing happened. They then took it over to one of their floor model Nexus 7's (I also have one of those) and tried it on that..same thing. I don't know if there's something special you have to do to make it work or to mount it or something but no pop-ups came up on either device to mount the drive or show it's storage, even in a file explorer like ES File Explorer. I'd love some input if anyone has any..i'll still go back and get it if I know i can make it work easily. $20 for 32GB of storage that I can use on the fly and potentially put on my keychain is really useful.

This product is a USB drive--to work, it will have to be plugged into USB compatible ports, such as those found on the computer. The product will have software that will have to load onto whatever you're plugging into, which means that there will have to be enough space on that to support more software. In general, USB drives will only work on a computer with a USB port.

Anywhere else I've searched for the is laptop, specifically on Amazon, I've only seen the Silver color. Even in the images provided by Best Buy the Chromebook is Silver, but the title says its Satin Gold. What color is it??

Are the shelves and drawers reversible?

Is the design reversible, as in can I have the drawers on the right and the open shelving on the left? I want to purchase two for a His & Hers Gaming TV set up and I would like the drawers on the left on one cabinet and on the right on the other cabinet because we are pushing them together to form one large custom entertainment unit with all of our consoles and equipment.
