replace hardrive for HP 2000-2c29WM?
I was wondering if this will be able to replace my old hard drive in my HP2000-2c29WM laptop? I looked and the hard drive that it is using at the moment is ATA with 500 GB and is running on 5400 RM. I am not a tech person so I'm not sure which hard drive fto buy for my Laptop. I want something that have lots of space and is fast. Any suggestion would be fine. Thanks!!
No. You need a laptop drive and not a desktop drive. A desktop drive is 3.5 inches wide and a laptop drive is 2.5 inches wide and not as thick.
There are some laptops and netbooks that take an even thinner laptop hard drive. You should pull the existing drive out and do a search on the part / model number and see what thickness it is. Then find one with the same thickness.
Any capacity SATA drive will work in your laptop since you are running Windows 8.1 or Windows 10.

If you are going to sell or donate it, then do a factory restore and then a defrag.
If you are selling or donating it, then take the drive out and use it for target practice, or take it apart, or beat it up real good with a sledge hammer.
