Although I cannot say which one is better, I can give you the information you need to make an educated decision.

The differences between the C9000 (2010) and the D8000 (2011) are:

1. The C9000 offers a dynamic contrast ratio of 6,000,000:1 while the D8000 offers 25,000,000:1

2. The D8000 offers the Smart Hub with Samsung Apps and a Web Browser. Although the C9000 offer Samsung Apps, it will not offer the Smart Hub or a Web Browser

3. The D8000 offers a QWERTY remote, while the C9000 offers a touch screen remote

4. The C9000 is .31" thick with all of the internals located in the base of the TV, while the D8000 is 1.2" thick with all of the internals located behind the panel

5. The D8000 will offer the following features that the C9000 will not offer: included 3D glasses, built in wifi, Skype and Micro-Dimming Plus

Does the Netflix streaming support HD and 5.1 surround

Does the TVs Netflix app support full HD picture and 5.1 surround?

Although full HD is dependent on your internet connection and available bandwidth, the current Netflix app will not offer support for 5.1 audio. However, the app is constantly updated by Netflix themselves, so 5.1 audio may be added in the future.

Connecting Bose Lifestyle Home Theater without HDMI?

I have an older Bose Lifestyle Home Theater sytem...at least 8 years old....does not have HDMI connections....How can I connect this system to this tv?

If the home theater system offers composite (RCA) or component (red/green/blue) cable outputs, you will be able to connect it to the TV's corresponding inputs.

Will this work without a transformer?

I'm currently overseas, and wanted to know the capability of the internal transformer to use 210 power, instead of the american 120.

If you purchase the unit within the US, it will only have support for All Region and Region 1 DVDs ("All Region" DVDs refers to DVDs that are marked as region 0 or "Region All". This does not mean the player can play every regions’ DVDs), Region "A" Blu-Rays and US voltages.

Do all Blu-ray players have the same video quality?

I know they play in 1080p but are some visibly better than others?

Although some BD players may offer enhanced up-conversion for DVDs, the Blu-Ray playback quality should all be the same across all the Samsung BD models.

Can you only have tv connected to internet? , or do you also have to have cable or satallite service?

All current generation Samsung TVs are digital cable and Antenna ready. All of our TVs include a coax ATSC/QAM tuner that handles digital and analogue broadcast signals as well. No external boxes or equipment needed to view your basic cable. An antenna is required for over the air broadcasts. Premium service may require additional equipment and fees. Please contact your service provider for details. The UN55D8000 will also offer internet content playback (Netflix, Hulu+, Youtube) and inputs for secondary devices (BD player, DVD player, Game System).

does this tv works for PAL N systems?

All UN, PN and LN units (North American Units) will only have support for NTSC/ATSC/QAM broadcasting systems and NA power systems. Since the NA TVs will not accept a PAL signal or Non-NA voltages, you will not only need a converter for the broadcast, but also for the power if you would like to use the TV in a PAL country.

Which low profile tilt mount would Samsung recommend to use on the UN55D8000Y

Although I cannot suggest a specific tilt mount (since Samsung does not produce such a product), I can say that any mount that offers a Vesa Bracket size of 400mm x 400mm should be compatible with the UN55D8000.
