the amount of memory on the chip was just what was needed for me to continue using my phone. Plus the added bonus of having the gentleman put it in for me so I wouldn't have to figure that out and possibly ruing the phone. it was a win-win all around

In overview, it says skip protection is 248 seconds, in specifications, itsays 45 seconds. Why is that, and which will it really have?
my opinion would be that if the buffers aren't working and the CD is in danger of being rendered useless, the device will suspend playing the CD for a period of either 248 or 45 seconds in the hope that the buffers would kick back in and the CD can be put back into play.

do you have to use the ear plugs for sound? if so, then what can I purchase to be able to hear without earphones?
External speakers available?
I have tried to use headphones but they don't seem to be capatible. I have done some research on the subject and it seems the port that is on the device is for speakers not earphones. as far as external speakers, I would think that they are available but have to be bought separate.

Is there a way to attach to belt or waistband while jogging or when both hands need to be free?
I would think that something could be rigged but I don't that there is anything on the market that is already prefab'd

"skip protection" means that the device comes with buffers that protect a CD from bouncing and skipping which damages the CD itself. kind of like when turntables were in use and a record was being played, if someone bumped into the turntable, the record would skip.

I would think so if you are using the device to play something through the IPAD's speakers.
I don't think that you would have to use the headphones unless you don't want to disturb someone else.

audiobooks
when listening to an audiobook, how do you stop or pause in middle of cd and then restart at that same place later? it keeps going back to the beginning of cd..
the pause button was designed to pause music and then pick back up where it left off. since it's used for something that its not designed to interpret, I would research that on the website
