Albeit these little usb sticks have been around for awhile they are still growing in capacity. Because of the size they are easy to put in cars as a music depository. Also useful for receivers with USB or your router to serve as a music / photo hub.

Arguably the best menu system. It's HD graphics are the only one that look awesome on 4K TV's.(Settings menu is not HD quality as the main menu and this is how you can tell the difference) Once you set-up the Provider and paid services like Netflix or Amazon searching for your favorite shows is an absolute breeze. Commercial SKIP feature within selected recorded shows is out of this world.
Using the app on your tablet or phone takes it up a notch. You can also cast your Youtube videos from your phone to your TIVO. Adding a TIVO Mini will let you watch all your recorded shows and more. Still after all these years the main negative is painfully long programming download.
Otherwise this would be a five star review.

Although Apple keeps closing the doors on user upgradability this unit sports features and technologies not seen on a WPC @ $999+.
Sadly Microsoft morons just simply cannot find the answer to remedy this despite the fact Thunderbolt and other tech are available to anyone not just Apple.. This little puppy is driving a UHD 28" Monitor without breaking a sweat or mouse delay as most others do. Albeit the 4gb of ram is hardly enough in today's world and thus presents the biggest regret. Workaround is to close all unnecessary open apps. Best yet it uses less energy than a laptop. If you are on the budget this can easily be your first, last and the only computer you need. Mind you this comes from a person that does not particularly like Apple's autocracy.

If I have this HD setup to back up my iMac, can I upload files (.pdf, .doc, etc...) currently stored on a PC from work? If so, can I access those files on my iMac?
Resounding YES to all. You can also have Android, Linux files, Don't matter.
You can also sandbox your files and share them with your colleagues.
There is multiple USER option that you are in charge of as an Administrator.
WARNING! make sure to jot down your ADMIN password somewhere safe. If you lose it then you'll need to restore the drive to factory

DirectV uses their own version of TIVO with a similar experience.

NOT yet. I hope they will add their own service

I just cut the cord!!! I hooked up Amazon Fire streaming to my TV with HDTV Antenna. I have many local channels, Netflix, hula, etc. Can I hook this up to my TV to use as a DVR only to record shows since I don't need to use it as a streaming devise?
YES you can but there is a monthly fee. I have ROKU, Chromecast, Fire TV but TIVO is the only one I use all the time.

Can I connect to my old dvr & download programs to a dvr
I have a.magnavox HDR /with hdd & dvd. Can I connect them.
NO.
But there is a better solution. If you know how, transfer your DVR files to a PC or NAS and name the File ie MY OLD DVR.
Share that folder on the network and TIVO will find it and let you watch it.
BTW , Tivo will let you copy your shows to an external drive or your tablet so you can watch them on vacation.
