Parasite had me with the first scene. This movie is an excellent demonstration of how to use film to explore issues of class in wickedly engaging and humorous way. The film is subtitled in English, yet the dialog is crisp and quality acting helps fill in the space for non-Korean speakers.

I originally saw this movie in a theater, somewhat, by accident. I was pleasantly surprised how the writer and director seamlessly marry several complex social issues into one coherent narrative. This movie keeps you intellectual simulated by building layer upon layer of issues. I am happy to say I saw this in a theater and own it on disc. I would have preferred Blu-ray, but hey, what can you do?

I purchased this product as a replacement for my D-Link PowerLine AV2 2000 Gigabit Starter Kit, rest-in-peace, which failed after 5 years. I admittedly am not a NETGEAR fan so I was a bit apprehensive about buying this product after researching my options. I use this product to connect my 1st floor internet access to my 2nd floor SOHO. I can achieve 94 Mbps using a 100-foot CAT6 cable. My previous D-Link product could achieve 94Mbps as well. I was pleasantly surprised to achieve the same bandwidth with NETGEAR’s Powerline 2000.
A big plus was the easy security setup. This wasn’t the case with my previous gear. Both brands (NETGEAR, D-Link) generate a noticeable amount of signal noise which can be heard when listening to FM radio. Other than that, I have no problems with performance so far.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This documentary does a wonderful job of putting the riots of 1992 in its historical context. This film makes excellent use of historical interviews with residents and media clips of civil rights activists, public figures, and law enforcement to make salient points on systemic issues that ensure the cycle of over policing and rioting continue.
This documentary is definitely worth viewing.
I only wish National Geographic would release their documentaries on blu-ray. Sigh.

This is one of the few movie adaptations that is on par with the book. The cinematography, directing, and acting are all pitch perfect and work to create an engaging dystopian tale.
The Criterion Collection release is a nice upgrade from my DVD copy. The restoration is immaculate. The picture is crisp and gorgeous, this is done without disrupting the muted color palette. Most 80s film transfers to Blu-ray are unremarkable. It is hard to believe this film was released in the 80s, you simply can’t tell from the image quality.

To date the NV501 has both met and exceeded my expectations. I put this product through its paces and this is what I’ve found…
To date the NV501 has both met and exceeded my expectations. I put this product through its paces and this is what I’ve found…
Noise Level – This unit is incredibly quiet for the amount of suction it produces. This is my 3rd vacuum (2 Hoovers previously) and it, hands down, has the best power-to-noise ratio.
Fabric Furniture – The [Lift-Away Mode] is perfect for circling around furniture while cleaning my chair, sofa, and cushions. The [Wide Upholstery Tool] works well and does a great job of managing the vacuum suction when set a max. I was embarrassed how much dust and fluff the NV501 removed from my furniture. Blush.
Floor Cleaning – This is my first ‘rotor’ vacuum and the feature makes total sense; it ensures the brush roller remains perfectly flat over carpet and bare floors when pushing it around. It’s not required, but I normally empty the dust collector multiple times when vacuuming as the suction is really good on this unit.
Variable Suction – There is a [Suction Control] collar located conveniently near the ‘loop’ handle. You really do need this feature because this unit generates a lot of suction.
The Cord Test – A big test for me is what happens when you vacuum over a power cord/cable on the floor. My last vacuum failed this test miserably. Using the NV501, I inadvertently vacuumed over a cable, it became entangled in the brush roller without causing ‘motor strain’, screeching, or smoking; I had time to untangle the cord before any serious damage was done.
Headlights – This unit has headlights. I’ve always been skeptical of this feature, but it’s implemented well on the NV501. I’m converted.
Attachments – My last vacuum had fairly useless attachments. I was pleasantly surprised how well-constructed and practical the accessories are.
Filter Cleaning – This model has 3 filters. Filter cleaning is straight forward and I would suggest doing it more frequently than the user manual recommends. This vacuum simply picks up way too much dirt not to be cleaned at least every 3-5 uses. In my opinion, it’s the best way to prolong the life of your [Foam Filter] and [Felt Filter] and keep your [HEPA] filter pristine.
CONS
Minor – I will admit to having the instruction manual open and available the first time I used this model. There a lot of features to familiarize yourself with.

Nuisance – The [Hose Clip] secures the hose to the vacuum body when used in [Upright Mode]. It will occasionally detach itself in the course of vacuuming and takes a conscious effort to reattach it. PRODUCT SUGGESTION, replace the [Hose Clip] with a strong magnetic clip; this would hold the hose in place and require less effort when reattaching the hose to the vacuum body.

I don't see any obstacles to you using an alternate microphone device on Windows 10. I have multiple mic options on my computer (see picture attachment) and all are select-able. The Logitech H390 is a simple device that requires no additional software. In my use of the H390, it has been well-behaved at all times.

Does it have built-in speakers?
Yes, the monitor has two internal speakers and the sound quality is adequate to good-enough. These are the only external speakers I have connected to my computers. Having said that, the volume control is quite responsive. If you turn the volume all the way up they are quite loud. The sound quality out of the audio-out [green jack] is superior.

I'm left-handed and have always had issues finding a good product for my gaming needs. I use it for first person shooter games such as Metro Exodus, Doom 2016, Zombie Army 4, the Quake and Rage (series). You simply map the keys to your game via a profile and you're set. You'll want to 'export' your profiles to avoid recreating them on every PC refresh.

I have a 3000 Sq feet home with a electrical box that looks like has 2 sections (Sorry about possibly wrong terminology). My understanding the outlets need to be on the same box. How do I test that?
If all of your outlets go through the same fuse box, they should be able to "see" each other. The NETGEAR - Powerline 2000 + Extra Outlet has some built-in signal connection and quality indicators, so you'll know right away if there are any issues. The worse case scenario is that you have to return it. You can run the PowerLine connection tests without hooking up any of your computer or electronics to it.

What protection does the Powerline 2000 have for surges or power spikes that might go to plugged in devices? Would separate surge protectors be required?
It is recommended, if not a requirement that Powerline equipment be connected directly to power line. This was the case with my previous D-Link equipment which lasted for 5 years and survived power outages, brownouts, and lightening storms. My residence only has 2-wires with no true ground. Both my NETGEAR/D-Link powerline equipment was/is connected to my DSL-2640B Gateway ADSL2/2+ Modem-Router Wireless-G Router and Motorola SB6190 Surfboard Cable Modem, neither of which show signs of any electrical or signal stress. I hope that helps.
