I’ve purchased over a dozen Velop systems for clients (so over 36 individual units). They’ve worked great in every installation I’ve done. The only downside was pricing. As Linksys has lowered their pricing to better compete with other mesh network brands, it’s hard not to recommend the Velop line.

The Samsung line are generally regarded as the fastest performing solid state drives on the market. Of course other brands make their claims as well. Regardless, it is rare that users would be able to truly tell a difference in most day-to-day usage, especially on older computers that are often getting solid state drives upgrades to replace hard drives. I’ve purchased hundreds of solid state drives for clients over the years, including Samsung drives. They work great but are generally priced above other similar brands. So if you are reading this review, I recommend buying Samsung drives when you can get them on sale. Otherwise, the premium pricing is a questionable value.

Virtually any solid state drive made today performs amazingly well when compared to whatever hard drive it may be replacing. It is rare that a user really needs to pay the premium pricing for say a Samsung SSD. So a drive like this SanDisk really fits the bill when upgrading laptops that have hard drives that are showing their age.

It may not have the flashy specs of say a Samsung SSD, but it still more than gets the job done. If you're shopping for an SSD at Best Buy, you probably don't need anything more than a SanDisk.
