We tested it out, and I can confirm that when the noise canceling function is active most of the ambient noise (to include voices) is effectively blocked out. I also appreciate that the noise canceling can be switched off to save battery power, and that they then function as standard headphones. The sound quality is excellent in both modes.

This movie is a classic. It is profound and explores subject matters like: what it means to be sentient and alive. It is full of very nuanced details and needs to be watched at least twice to catch everything. While not entirely necessary, I would recommend watching this movie before watching Blade Runner 2049. The video quality is the best version I have seen this movie released in but unfortunately in certain areas (special effects, action) this movie shows it's age. But it was ahead of it's time in many ways.

I saw it during the limited U.S. theatrical run and knew that I had to get it. This is different from other Godzilla movies that Toho has produced so it is not for everyone. There is a lot of dialog and deliberation on the part of the Japanese government but I was never bored or disinterested. The original Godzilla (Gojira) was a allegory to the atomic bombings of WWII, and this one is an allegory to the recent nuclear plant meltdowns and how the bureaucracy reacted to the threat.
