Solid gaming choice
on February 14, 2023
Posted by: Robs
The Alienware M17 R5 is a solid choice for a gaming laptop that is at the high end of the price point for the AMD processor and video card included. It isn't like I'm a big fan of Intel or Nvidia, but AMD is on a slightly lesser tier when it comes to gaming performance and user experience. But if you're going to choose an AMD processor then the correct choice for a video card is AMD, as they will work well together. Here are some of the details of my laptop:
Processor - AMD Ryzen 7 6800H
Video Card - AMD Radeon RX 6700M 10GB GDDR6
Display - 17.3" FHD display, non-touch
Memory - 16GB DDR5 RAM
Hard Drive - 512 GB SSD
Color - Dark Side of the Moon
Out of the box, the laptop feels very solid and has the heft that is typical for a gaming laptop at about 7.5 pounds. It stands just over 1 inch tall, is 15.6 inches wide, and is 11.75 inches deep. The dark gray to black Dark Side of the Moon color scheme is aesthetically pleasing and maintains the same scheme from years past. The power cord has good length and the battery pack is a brick style. When you open the laptop, which does take two hands, the power button is located to the upper right of the keyboard beside a row of hexagons that stretch the width of the unit and includes the speakers. This is a gaming laptop so there is programmable RGB lighting through Alienware software. The keyboard lights are bright although it should be noted that the RGB does not light up the entire key so secondary key functions can be hard to find in the dark. The 17.3 non-touch screen provides a noticeably bigger viewing area over 15" laptop screens, and provided a bright crisp image. I do not believe the screen is IPS so the preferred viewing angle is pretty straight on. There is a 720p/30fps webcam/mic included over the top of the screen. The ports are as follows:
Right side:
1 Type-A USB 3.2 Gen 1 Port
1 Type-A USB 3.2 Gen 1 Port with PowerShare
Back side:
1 Type-A USB 3.2 Gen 1 Port
1 Type-C Port (Includes USB 3.2 Gen 2, Display Port 1.4 and Power Delivery (5V/3A) capabilities)
1 HDMI 2.1 Output Port
1 Power adapter port
Left:
1 Ethernet port
1 Headphone and microphone combo port
When I booted it up for the first time, it took about an hour for Windows to fully update, and afterwards I updated the Alienware Command Center and the AMD driver software. The Alienware Command Center I usually don't mess around with except to tweak the RGB, but a user can get very specific with profiles for certain situations if desired. The AMD driver software is not user friendly compared to the Nvidia Experience software. After all updates were complete, I downloaded the Steam client and the Epic Games Launcher, as well as some games. I tried Destiny 2 first and the laptop worked flawlessly. Gameplay was smooth on Ultra settings and I was very impressed with how the game looked on a big screen. I then tried Fortnite and the computer had big issues. It would keep crashing to a blue screen saying that Windows failed to load. I'm not exactly sure what that was about, as Fortnite is a much less demanding game than Destiny 2. The laptop was very cool while playing all games, and all updates were complete. I would have to restart the device. Again, the AMD user interface for their graphics drivers and auto-settings is not easy to use. It seemed to recognize that I had installed both Destiny 2 and Fortnite, but I could not tell what settings it was recommending as the best to use and if it was applying those settings. I also downloaded the Netflix client and played some shows. They looked great and sounded great with headphones. The speakers, like most speakers on laptops, were not the best. I'm still trying other games and haven't run into any issues like the blue screen crash that only happened while playing Fortnite, so other than that the laptop has run very smoothly and the keyboard has stayed remarkably cool under all usage. It works well with non-gaming usage too. From a distance, and with the RGB tuned as such, it isn't obviously a gaming laptop, but anyone looking up close would know from the Alienware style and scheme. I would recommend this for any gamer looking for a solid option and a big screen. The processor and graphics card aren't top of the line but will work well for any game in the near future. Alienware does build a solid laptop and offers a good warranty with assistance available if needed.

Very good cordless shaver
on February 4, 2023
Posted by: Robs
The Philips Norelco Shaver 7600 is a very good cordless shaver. It comes with a travel case, quick clean pod, quick clean pod cartridge, cleaning brush, and USB-A charging cable. The wall power adapter for the charging cable is not included. The shaver itself is largely matte black with black rubber handling area. The shaver has a square push on/off power button, a LED display, and the power cord plugs into the bottom for charging, which takes about an hour for a full charge of 60 usage minutes. If you need a shave in a quick pinch, it can charge enough for one shave in five minutes. The shaver can be locked so that neither the shaver nor the display turns on during travel. The shaver includes a motion control sensor that utilizes the LED display to help the user improve their shaving strokes for less passes and less potential skin irritation from over-shaving. The shaver dynamically senses how much power is needed to shave effectively and will increase/decrease power automatically. The quick clean pod is a nice touch. It allows the shaver to stand vertically so that the head can be cleaned via a 1 minute cleaning cycle as the head is immersed into cleaning fluid. The shaver can be used on dry and wet skin, just make sure to clean it with water or with the cleaning pod after each use. It can be used in the shower or bathtub, as expected from a shaver. I have been using it to shave my face and neck with dry skin, and it feels very nice to use. It says it has nano skin-glide coating on the head to make the shaver feel comfortable as it moves and I believe that works very well. It left my face and neck feeling very smooth, very quickly. I used the pop-up trimmer around my moustache and chin area, and it worked very well. After I was done, I opened the head to rinse out the cut hair, flicked the water drops off, and placed it to the side. I think it compares well to other cordless shavers at the price point. The travel case is a nice touch, and it exudes the typical Philips Norelco quality that is expected. This is a very good shaver, and I would recommend for any facial shaving usage or as a potential gift.

Best cordless shaver
on February 4, 2023
Posted by: Robs
The Philips Norelco S9000 Prestige is the best electric shaver I have ever used. As a package, this is a premium item. It comes with a very nice carrying case with room for the shaver, precision trimmer, brush, and charging cord. It also comes with a quick clean pod and cartridge. The shaver itself is largely metallic silver with black rubber handling area. The shaver has a square push on/off power button, comfort increase/decrease toggle button, and a LED display. The power cord plugs into the bottom for charging, which takes about an hour for a full charge of 60 usage minutes. If you need a shave in a quick pinch, it can charge enough for one shave in five minutes. I like that the LED turns on to show the remaining the power percentage with any motion of the shaver. The shaver can be locked so that neither the shaver nor the display turns on during travel, but it is nice to get details without turning it on. Of note is that the power cord is a complete part, and you don't need to supply the wall adapter. The quick clean pod is a nice touch. It allows the shaver to stand vertically so that the head can be cleaned via a 1 minute cleaning cycle as the head is immersed into cleaning fluid. The shaver can be used on dry and wet skin, just make sure to clean it with water or the cleaning pod after each use. It can be used in the shower or bathtub, as expected from a shaver. I have been using it to shave my face and neck with dry skin, and it does a great job. My skin feels incredibly smooth, like the shave was done with a straight razor. I kept in on the middle (dynamic) comfort setting and I haven't noticed any irritation. I used the precision trimmer around my moustache and it did a good job. After I was done, I opened the head to rinse out the cut hair, flicked the water drops off, and placed it to the side. I tried a cordless shaver a few years ago and did not like how it cut, but this has been the complete opposite experience. It cuts well, maintenance is easy, and the LED will show you if there are any issues like if the head needs cleaned or if it is time to replace the head (about once a year). The Philips Norelco S9000 Prestige may be the shaver that makes me put away my straight razor. It is a premium product that any man in your life will be thankful to receive.

Fantastic small GoPro
on December 19, 2022
Posted by: Robs
The GoPro HERO11 Mini is an amazing product for recording high quality video that doesn't sacrifice much from the full size HERO 11 in exchange for more flexibility in where it can be used, like with drones. Let's start with a couple obvious differences from full size GoPros. The HERO 11 Mini does not have a front or rear view screen. The rear appears to more of a heat sink and there is also a rear mounting bracket with fingers that allow for a lower profile. Obviously, there are no touch screen controls which means the unit is controlled by 2 buttons (power, record) and via the GoPro Quik app. There is a small LCD screen up top that shows vital information. The other difference is that there is no removeable battery for battery swaps during long sessions. Instead, the unit must be charged via USB-C. So if you typically use a GoPro for long amounts of time it will make having a good portable power bank a necessity. Other than the removal of view screens and the lack of a removeable battery, the HERO11 Mini seems to perform just the same as the larger GoPros. It films natively with a 8:7 ratio so it allows the user to actually crop if converting to other ratios like 16:9. I initially wondered about how to know if I was pointing the lens at what I wanted to capture with no view screen, but I soon came to realize that I just needed to point it in the general direction of the subject. The unit captures a large area so it ends up being very simple to use. And I can always crop if I need to in post-production. It can capture up to 5.3K at 60 fps or 4K at 120 fps. The mic captured sound very well, just as well as full size GoPros. There are neat field of view options for the HERO11 Mini, one of which is Hyperview which creates a wide-field view. There is also image smoothing/stabilization as well as a feature to keep the image locked on the horizon. The unit is waterproof to a reasonable depth and I can say that it does survive plenty of drops, as you would expect from GoPro. I loved that the HERO11 Mini was easy to mount to my drone and I think users will find all kinds of creative places to use this. I can understand that some people really need the view screens and the touch controls that come along with those. I will say that I used the LCD screen and 2 physical buttons to quickly setup anything I needed, but the GoPro Quik app can also let you dive as deep as you want into customization of the field of view options and many other features. I would recommend this to anyone, and would make an amazing holiday gift for anyone teenage and up.

Amazing Smart Watch
on November 10, 2022
Posted by: Robs
The Google Pixel Watch is a fantastic device that takes all the great features of Google Pixel Phones and the Android OS and puts them on your write. First off, the watch looks great. Mine was Matte Black Stainless Steel with an Obsidian Active watchband. It feels very sturdy and looks like a watch that could be worn by a office professional or an outdoorsman. Out of the box, there is a charging cable that is USB-C on one end and a magnetic charger on the other end. There is no wall charging box. There are 2 sizes of watchbands: large (which was already attached) for wrists 165-210mm around, and small for wrists 130-175mm around. The watchband has a comfortable silicone feel that doesn't pinch or grab arm hair. I was quickly able to pair it to my phone and walk through some initial setup screens on my phone. It logged me into my Google Account, verified using Google Assistant, paired with my Fitbit account, and then communicated with my cell phone provider. Be aware that your cell phone provider may charge to add the watch to your current service. After that, there was a system update and a restart, followed by the preloaded basic applications doing their updates. There was a handy on-screen tutorial during these updates that showed me how to navigate the screen and what the side buttons do. Setup took 5 minutes. I started exploring the apps and adding a few more that were already on my phone. I was quickly able to view my texts and emails, and customize my alerts for both. I was able to set my daily alarm. I went into the Fitbit app on my phone and paired it with my watch and was able to see some quick data like heartbeat count. The Google Assistant is very useful and I could change the different ways that it can be accessed. Google Maps knew where I was and I downloaded Google Home so that I could see my connected TVs. The sound quality on calls was fantastic and everyone could hear me just fine with the watch not particularly close to my mouth. The charge on the watch lasted just over 1 day, and a full charge took about 75 minutes to acquire. One thing to know is that the watch can only be charged with the Google Pixel Magnetic Charging Cable that is supplied in the box; other wireless or Qi chargers are not supported. There is also a Find my Watch feature that will help me find my watch (and phone) should I ever lose them. Basically, this is like an amazingly useful cellphone that you wear on your wrist. It is almost more intuitive than a cell phone because there are only a few buttons and the rest of the watch is controlled by different swipes and taps. I haven't found anything that the Google Pixel Watch can't do. It looks great, operates great, and stays charged for the day. I highly recommend the Google Pixel Watch to any user that needs mobile productivity and communication, or even just for fun.

Great Webcam
on November 7, 2022
Posted by: Robs
The Logitech Brio 500 Webcam is a fantastic product that is quick to setup and use. Out of the box, you have the tubular-shaped webcam and the fold-out mount that is meant to sit on top of a monitor. The mount has a suction side that grips the back of the monitor to maintain position. The webcam attaches into a circular, magnetic area on top of the mount, and the magnetic pull is strong enough to keep the webcam very snug. The area where the webcam mounts also folds out so that the user can make the camera tilt straight down to see something on the user's desk like an actual drawing or object. The webcam connects via a USB C cable that is about 2.5 feet long. There is a privacy screen that is controlled via rotationg a dial on the right end of the webcam. I had the mount setup and the webcam attached in about 2 minutes. I had my Windows settings so that Cameras were off, so I went into the settings and turned in on. You may not have to do that. It was instantly recoginized and I could see a sample. I then went into Zoom and I didn't need to adjust anything. The image is fantastic and there are 2 mics that made my voice volume and clarity perfect. So within 5 minutes of opening the box, it was configured and working beautifully: plug and play. This 4 megapixel webcam can produce images at 720p@60 FPS or at 1080p@30 FPS. It works with Windows, macOS, or Chrome OS. It is certified for Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, and Works with Chromebook. There is free software from Logitech that can be downloaded if you'd like to optimize general settings to your liking called LogiTune, and it is easy to use. Overall, I really like the Logitech Brio 500 Webcam because it is quick to install, easy to utilize with almost any product, and produces crystal clear results both with audio and visual. I wish other products were this quick and easy to use.

Great glasses for blue light protection.
on November 7, 2022
Posted by: Robs
The Gamer Advantage Inferno Glasses with Sleeper Lenses is a great product for blue light protection that does seem to help with getting sleep. It comes with magnetic clip sunglass lenses so that you can continue to use them outside the office into the outdoors. Out of the box, it also comes with a folding hard case that closes magnetically and a drawstring pouch with cleaning cloth. The frame is a general size of 53-17-145 which fit pretty well on my head. The frames are very light and have a rectangular shape to them. They are made of a bendable material so that the stems can be adjusted to be comfortable for different ear shapes. I was perfectly comfortable wearing them around the house, and they were stylish enough that nobody looked twice when wearing them around town. They aren't noticeably gamer-wear, and could be uses in an office setting with no issue. The normal lenses are mostly clear with a slight yellow coloration, while the sunglass lenses are much darker. The lenses come with a protective coating, anti-reflective coating, and a dirt repellant coating. When I viewed a white screen, it did seem to remove alot of the blue light; more so than the Night setting would remove on my monitor. I tried these several times with evening gaming sessions, as one of the key features is that is supposed to increase melatonin levels and promote better sleep which can be hindered by blue light. They seemed to work from what I can tell. I fell asleep faster after laying down and it didn't impact my gaming at all. So I really like these glasses. They seem to do what they say they do by positively impacting sleep, they protect the eyes, and they look good in every setting.

Neato D9's 200 minute runtime, covering 1,600 square feet on a single charge, makes it ideal for medium to larger-sized homes. You can't use circles to clean a square corner. That's why Neato's D-shape allows for a 70% larger brush than those found in round robots along with an industry-leading 0.70 liter dirt bin that holds more dirt between cleanings. Neato's D9 offers corner-to-corner and edge-to-edge cleaning in a short amount of time and its unique Helix multi-surface brush is now 50% quieter on hard surfaces. Neato's D9 also offers 40% greater dirt pickup than D3 & D5. The powerful performance combined with an easy-to-clean Ultra-Performance filter traps up to 99.5% of allergens and dust. Equipped with energy-saving Eco Mode for general vacuuming to high-performance Turbo Mode, Neato gets the job done. The Neato D9 uses LaserSmart powered by LIDAR, the same technology used in self-driving vehicles, to map and navigate your home with precision, leaving your carpets with those satisfying straight vacuum lines in no time. Uniquely shaped robot vacuum
on October 10, 2022
Posted by: Robs
The Neato D9 Intelligent Robot Vacuum is a uniquely-shaped vacuum that does a good job cleaning both hardwoods and carpet but is not quite as good as I hoped with connectivity and pathfinding. Out of the box, the D9 feels lighter than some of the other robot vacuums I have owned in the past; it weighed in at 8 pounds. But it still seems to be durable and I have no doubt it can handle the bumps that come with the job. I do like the aesthetics of the D9. It has a brushed metallic look with minimal buttons on top. It comes with a charging base, a six ft cord, 2 extra ultra-filters (1 is already installed), and a brush cleaning tool. Please note that the filters are not HEPA filters. I let the unit charge while I got setup online with the myneato app. The unit was in a good location relatively near my router, but it seemed to stuggle to connect even though I made sure to connect it to my 2.4ghz signal. The unit does seem very dependent on the app to operate which is a little disappointing. On the other hand, it makes getting a firmware update pretty easy. Once it was ready, I had it begin to sweep. As it went, it used LIDAR technology to navigate around my rooms and the mapping became visible on my app. It seems to run in an Eco mode to preserve battery unless it detects a particularly dirty area, in which case it switches to a turbo mode. The unique D-Shape does help get into corners. It is one of the best aspects of the D9. The downside is that the front straight edge can make the unit get stuck a bit easier, or at least run into more objects. Rounded robot vacuums can almost spin or rotate around chair legs, for example. The D9 seemed to handle this OK. It got lost a couple times. It also seemed to lose connection to the wifi a couple times, too. As far as cleaning, it did very well on hardwoods and OK on carpets. Based on the cleaning abilities I have seen from other robot vacuums I have owned, I would say this is expected. What it did clean, it cleaned well. I also noticed that it was very quiet in eco mode which is very nice if you have it running at night or during the day and you work from home. The D9 will automatically head back to the base for a recharge when ready. The amount of time it will run on a single charge is going to vary based on how much carpet you have and how many objects you have on the floor that is has to navigate around. It seemed to be able to do a full run of my house but the charge was about gone once finished. One interesting aspect is that because of the squared-off end it seemed to have a wider brush than other robot vacuums. Overall, I think that the D9 fits in a tier just below the top of the line robot vacuums. It still does a fine job, but it is some of the smaller issues (like getting lost a couple times) that keep it from being great.

Great microSDXC card
on September 18, 2022
Posted by: Robs
The SanDisk 256GB microSDXC card is a nifty little storage card that can be used in the Nintendo Switch for storage or in any device that accepts microSDXC cards. It is hot pink in color and has an emblem on it from a Fortnite character. I didn't think too much about the outside, but it does add a bit of personality, and the pink color means it is hard to lose. The card worked like a charm; insert it into the device, let the device format it, and then use it to store files. This card has speeds up to 100 MB/s read and 90 MB/s write. It is an officially licensed Nintendo product. The card is water proof, temperature proof, shock proof, and x-ray proof. SanDisk makes fine storage cards, so it is no surprise to see what all damage the card is protected from. The kicker is that the package includes a code for a Fortnite Angular Flow weapons wrap. Just go into the game and apply the code to get the item. If you need some additional storage for your Switch or other device, and if you or someone you know are even vaguely interested in Fortnite, this is a product that provides excellent value and works perfectly.

Great wireless headset for PS5 and PC gaming
on August 15, 2022
Posted by: Robs
The Sony INZONE H7 Wireless Gaming Headset is a great gaming headset for both the PS5 and PC. This headset is the next generation of audio from Sony, building on the Pulse 3D headset that was released with the Playstation 5. In my opinion, the INZONE H7 is better in almost every way than the Pulse 3D. Out of the box, this headset feels very solid and durable. The outside is matte white while the inner color is matte black. The ear cups are large and circular, with 40mm drivers and nylon on the outside of the ear cushions. The headband has a nice, soft cushion. The microphone boom is bendable and adjustable but not removeable, and rotates up to mute. It comes with a USB dongle with a slide toggle for either PS5 or PC usage. It also comes with a USB charging cord. On the left side, there is the mic boom, volume dial, and USB C charging port. On the right side, there is a game/chat button, Bluetooth connection button, and the power button. Aesthetically speaking, this looks like a gaming headset. I happen to really like the large, round earcups with the bright white exterior; it has a futuristic, robotic look to it. But, they would probably look somewhat out of place in an office/professional setting. The INZONE H7 feels very comfortable on my head. They are well-balanced from a weight perspective so that I didn't even notice I was wearing the headset after the first hour. I wear glasses so pressure from the earcups that causes discomfort is a pet peeve. I was pleased to note that the INZONE H7 was able to make a firm connection around my ear without any discomfort from the stems of my glasses. The H7 does not come with active noise cancelling, however I can say that most everyday noises do not penetrate the earcup so I didn't feel I was missing that feature. To use the headset with the PS5, slide the switch on the dongle to PS5 and plug the dongle into a port on the PS5 itself. Power up the headset and it automatically connects to the dongle. To use the headset with PC, slide the switch on the dongle to PC and plug the dongle into an open port on your computer. Again, power up the headset and it will connect to the dongle. A nice feature is that you can connect to your phone via Bluetooth at the same time so that you can answer any calls that come in while you're gaming. There is INZONE Hub software that can be downloaded for the PC that allows access to the sound equalizer and some microphone settings. There is also an app that can be downloaded to a phone that allows for the personalization of spatial sound based on the shape of your ear, which can then be linked to the INZONE Hub software. I tried the headset with both my PS5 and PC, and the sound production is great for both. The H7 produces 2 channel stereo audio that is put into 7.1 channel surround sound. I played several FPS and racing games, and the positional audio is both clear and accurate. I tend to not like headsets that can't produce bass tones, but this headset does bass very well so that you hear a good balance of tones. The game/chat toggle works as advertised. On the PC, the H7 worked just as well. Music sounded great, games sounded great, and chat was crisp and clear. I asked for feedback from others on how I sounded on the mic and received feedback that my voice was coming through very clearly. It advertises 40 hours of use on a single charge, and that seems accurate as I am approaching 40 hours without needing to recharge. I would reccomend these for any PS5 or PC gamer with no hesitation. The INZONE H7 looks good and sounds good. It feels very comfortable and blocks out noise naturally. It has a definite gamer/futuristic look, but it matches the PS5's look. The INZONE H7 is the definitive Sony headset to get for the PS5.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The Linksys Velop MX10 whole-home Wi-Fi 6 system gives you more speed, coverage, and capacity than it ever has before. Wi-Fi 6 combined with Velop's Intelligent Mesh™ technology delivers true Gigabit Wi-Fi speeds, up to 5.3 Gbps, to every corner of your home, even the backyard and outdoor smart home devices. Wi-Fi 6 also sends and receives multiple streams of data simultaneously and reduces latency, providing up to 4x more capacity compared to Wi-Fi 5 technology. So, it can handle the demands of up to 50 devices and more, from laptops and gaming consoles to smart home devices and 4K TVs, all competing for the same bandwidth. You'll also always have a more efficient Wi-Fi experience with OFDMA that enables more data to and from your devices in a more streamlined manner. And, with BSS technology, congestion is also minimized eliminating interference from nearby wireless networks to deliver a strong, clear Wi-Fi signal to your home, so you won't have to worry about your neighbor's Wi-Fi interfering with yours again. You'll even have 7x more battery life with Target Wake Time that reduces network interference, allowing your devices to remain in sleep mode longer. The MX10 whole-home Wi-Fi 6 system is a part of Velop's modular system, so if you need more coverage, just add more nodes. Plus, setup is fast with the Linksys app, so you can enjoy the next evolution of Wi-Fi in minutes.

Philips SmartSleep Deep Sleep Headband: Improve the quality of your sleep with this Philips SmartSleep Deep Sleep headband. The clinically tested technology helps improve energy, increase alertness and reduce daytime sleepiness to help you through the day. Pairing this Philips SmartSleep Deep Sleep headband with the SleepMapper app provides you with detailed analytics to help understand your sleep patterns.

How does it work?

It produces tones as you sleep that are supposed to help your brain wave patterns stay in the deep sleep pattern for longer. There is a sensor that you place behind your ear every night, and you put the headband on and connect it to that sensor. It isn't very noticeable after a few nights. It connects to an app so that you can see your sleep stats the next day.

Is this a light headset? If not, will it cause any head pain or anything? Im using this for long term use.

The headset is very light, under 1 pound. Good for long sessions. Some users have reported some tightness or pressure against their ears from squeezing. That is so subjective though.

What does it mean by limitied edition? Like is it only gonna be up and available for a certain time or is it only for the color scheme?

I believe the Sensory Bass is what makes these headphones a limited edition. They will really rattle your head.

Sleep better. Cover unwanted noise with soothing sounds. Bose noise-masking sleepbuds™ are uniquely designed for sleep. They don’t stream music or have acoustic noise cancellation. Instead, these tiny, wireless earbuds use pre-loaded, soothing sounds to cover up unwanted noises, so you can get to sleep — and stay asleep. Plus, unlike traditional earplugs, they’re super comfortable and made to stay in place all night long, even if you sleep on your side. 1. Choose your sound, 2. Set an alarm, 3. Fall asleep without unwanted noise.

How well do these work for silencing out loud snoring from your bed partner?

In my experience, it works very well at focusing my mind on the sounds or tones that are being produced by the earbuds so that other noises become unnoticeable. I can't say for sure that it will drown out every variety of snorer as you will still be able to hear very loud noises. What I liked is that the 10 noises that the earbuds come with seem to have a unique pitch, and I'm thinking that it would be crucial to find the best noise/pitch that matches the pitch of the snoring. I think you would have success.
