Who would have thought there'd ever come a time when desperately searching the environment for what little resources you can find to survive was your idea of relaxing? A great first-person zombie game

Dying Light was developed by the same folks who brought us Dead Island and Dead Island Riptide, so it's no surprise that there are many similarities among all three games.
What's new in Dying Light is the difference between night and day - literally. Unfortunately, the difference between this game and its predecessors isn't as notable.
In Dying Light, your job is to track down a special operative who has become something of a cult leader in the wake of the zombie apocalypse. During the daytime, you'll scrounge for weapons and materials that can be used to upgrade your weapons. You'll climb a lot of buildings and run along rooftops like the Fist of Justice, but you won't fall into very many dinner parties. It's all about the parkour - and later on, about using your grappling hook, which is a pretty cool development (think of the teleport ability in Dishonored and you'll have it about right).
At night time, you'll also run a lot - and scream, and curse, and panic, and mash buttons - anything to get away from the 'volatiles' that hunt the nights. Sunlight - or any form of UV - is lethal to these monsters, so they only come out at night, and they're game to make up for lost time by being extremely vicious and hard to kill.
Nor are the volatiles the only nocturnal zombie types you'll encounter... some want nothing to do with you, but their rotting flesh can be used to make extremely potent weapons. Make sure you can tell the difference.
There's nothing too revolutionary here, but the interface is slick, the UI is decent, the control is... original, but good, and there's plenty of content and side missions to keep you occupied. Better yet, team up with your friends, or random strangers in true zombie apocalypse style, to smash zombie heads together as a team.
Oh yeah - if you liked the music in that movie It Follows, you're gonna dig the music here, too.
This is a fun game, and it's well worth the money.

You used to worry about paying bills on time, missing the first half of the big game or getting a second date. That was your world before the end. Now you're one of a few supposed lucky ones, a mere handful of survivors of the old world struggling to make some kind of life in the ruins of what once was. The little worries and conveniences of your previous existence have disappeared, replaced by one constant battle — the fight to ward off the zombies that swarm your base as you make the last stand for survival. The monsters that threaten your small slice of security are a never-ending horde that seems to never stop growing — do you have what it takes to make it through the apocalypse?Gather your courage and make a stand for humanity in State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition, which includes the original State of Decay and Breakdown and Lifeline add-ons remastered for the Xbox One in brilliant 1080p high-definition, plus all-new content to provide hours of action-packed, heart-stopping, zombie-destroying excitement. Rally against the zombies with your fellow survivors as you try to rebuild in the wreckage of the world you once new in a threatening open world where each of your choices creates unique gameplay experiences. Make your stand as you design and fortify a home base, then prove your mettle as you execute daring raids for food and ammunition. Experience the faded glory of Trumbull Valley and the city of Danforth with optimized lighting, textures and shadows. Brace yourself for nonstop thrills provided by overhauled animations and combat mechanics that take the intensity to the next level. Seek out strange, military-style crates dropped into remote areas to find rare and powerful equipment, but keep your wits and your weapons ready — the crates' beacons are a siren song to the blood-thirsty masses of zombies that can only be overcome with an unparalleled hail of bullets. Travel across the dangerous landscape in a variety of vehicles, including a rugged SUV, and style your vehicles with a host of brand-new skins. Play as Hawke, Kilo or Vince from Lifeline in Breakdown by taking part in a set of challenges, or become the previously unplayable Kelly "Sasquatch" Eldridge. Hold your own against the zombies with an under-barrel grenade launcher and masterkey shotgun, as well as other new weapons, or unleash the devastating power of incendiary ammunition without switch weapons and decimate crowds of zombies. Thirty minutes of stunning new music created by award-winning composer Jesper Kyd sets the mood for a daunting and lethal world. Refill ammo and make snacks at your base thanks to facility actions from Lifeline now available in every version of the game, and enjoy easier trade and trust building with NPC Enclaves. Optimize your gaming experience with community challenges and rewards, individual rewards and Game DVR, available exclusively for Xbox One. The world as you knew it is gone forever — do you have what it takes to survive the State of Decay?

A True Original with Great Design and Execution

For fans of open word sandbox games and fans of zombie survival games alike, State of Decay is a truly original masterpiece of game design and execution.
It's the zombie apocalypse! What are you going to do!? Well... obviously you're going to forage for food, medicine and ammunition, aren't you? But be careful, because supplies in the town around you are finite - find what you can use and the game will mark off the buildings you've fully searched on your map. You'd better make good use of your loot or save it until later, because once it's gone, it's GONE.
The same applies to your playable characters. There is no save game feature; the game just continues while you're offline, and when you come back, some events may have transpired. But no save game means no re-loading when your main character gets torn in half by an eight-foot, 700 pound zombie. So you'd better watch out... and you'd better make some more friends among the surviving NPCs.
Perma death is a pretty novel feature, but it's not just a gimmick. Not only does it make you value your characters and their development, but it makes you worried when things start to go sideways. Any game that can make you legitimately afraid or worried - without punishing you unduly for minor mistakes - is a cut above everything else out there.
In the case of State of Decay, there's really nothing else like it. It started out as an inexpensive Xbox Live only game on the 360, and took off in a way that surprised everyone except its creators (and maybe even them). The Year One Survival Edition for Xbox One includes upgraded visuals, new content, and ALL of the DLC from the original 360 version.
This is a no-brainer, folks! Buy it!

Does everything I need and does it fairly well

H&R Block "Deluxe" tax software does a pretty good job of helping me prepare and file my taxes. It includes very helpful, guided questions, information and examples. It seems to do a far more thorough job than the most senior and thoroughly-certified agent at my local H&R Block store did last year. I've used this software for years, and I had my taxes prepared professionally last year because I figured my tax situation was more complex than usual. But I paid almost 10x as much for that service as for this software, and candidly, I feel more confident in the software than in last year's agent.
The price is affordable, if a bit sneaky. As an individual with no dependents I don't need 5 free federal filings - one will do - but then they turn around and charge extra to e-file the state return. Even with that hidden fee, the total price seems comparable to what others pay for tax preparation software and filing fees.
This year's edition offers a 10% bonus on your federal return if you opt to receive it in the form of a gift card for one of several major retailers or commerce sites. If I'd been planning to use my refund for a major purchase, that might have been a really nice bonus.

What's not to like?

For a while, Best Buy had a pre-order SKU for State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition on Xbox One. One day I took some gift cards and went to go pre-order it, but their pre-order offer had vanished. Turns out that's because it's no longer on Xbox Live (at least not exclusively).
So I went ahead and got this Xbox Live gift card instead. Think about all the content you buy from Xbox Live (e.g. game DLC and expansions, desktop themes, avatar gear, etc.). In the unlikely event that you can't find something you want at Best Buy (heresy, I know), this bad boy lets you convert Best Buy gift cards or reward certificates into funds on your Xbox Live account. What's not to like about that?

Nice material, decent sound, questionable quality
on February 3, 2015

This headset is made from nice, thick padded materials and is comfortable to wear, even for a few hours. The audio quality is good if not great, though there are some very minor issues with sporadic signal loss with the wireless connection between the Xbox One and the controller. The "super human hearing" feature is pretty cool, and even though it's kind of a gimmick, it does make a pretty dramatic difference in what you hear and how you hear it.
My biggest concern is that within one week of opening the box, having used the thing perhaps three times, it developed what seems to be a short in the 'breakaway' cable that connects the headset to the controller. This is surprising because the cord is a big, thick, vinyl or other fabric bundle. Nevertheless, if the cord is at the wrong angle, the supplied microphone stops picking up my voice, or does so only sporadically. This has only been a major issue once or I'd have taken it back to Best Buy already, but I've had similar but less severe occurrences of the problem since then. I'm probably going to end up having to test Turtle Beach's warranty, and that's not a prospect I relish.
Overall it seems like their top-of-the-line headset really ought to blow you away with incredible sound quality, but it doesn't begin to compare to my home theater system, and the positional sound (e.g. objects or people behind you) isn't that great. It does sound good, and it's a great way to avoid waking the neighbors when I'm playing Destiny at 3am, but I'm a little disappointed for the money I spent.

So close, but yet so far away

A lot of people have waited a long time for their Destiny. The convergence and collaboration of two legendary game companies – Bungie, the original creators and developers of Halo, and Activision, the publishers and owners of the World of Warcraft IP – was bound to produce a truly epic experience.
For most of those people, though, that experience is still something in the future. It hasn’t happened yet.
The long-awaited game Destiny really would not have needed the need the help of Activision’s publicity machine to generate a lot of hype, but the machine did its thing nevertheless, and in hindsight it feels like we’ve been the victims of a bait-and-switch.
We were promised this amazing, deep, groundbreaking, genre-defining experience, but what we received is something else entirely. It’s actually pretty hard to convey exactly what Destiny is.
When you look back on what we were told to expect, it seems like it might be easier to say what Destiny is not.
Destiny is kind of like World of Warcraft in some ways, except it’s not. It wants to be an MMO, but there is no player communication outside of pre-made groups, or fire teams. It wants to have a crafting system, but what it actually has instead is another thin layer of player development. You can’t create a new item of any kind; only improve existing loot you’ve already obtained through luck or reputation grinds.
The social aspects of Destiny are disappointingly limited; like a lot of other areas of the game, it feels very stunted. There is no guild or clan mechanism, no direct means of forming an alliance longer than the current firefight, and no trade. Despite all the character development Bungie expects you to do, you can’t trade any item with any other player under any circumstances. One positive aspect of this is that all loot drops, even ammo, are distinct to each player – so there’s no hoarding or griefing in that regard. Whatever you’ve got is whatever you’ve looted, purchased or earned from NPCs.
Destiny is very much like Halo, except it’s not. Its Haloesque gameplay is the same that has hooked everyone for over ten years. The level design, artwork control, combat mechanics, and visuals are absolutely top notch. The intense action, clever AI, balanced difficulty and grueling PvP matches are all there, and they all feel like Halo with only slightly different IP. But one of the most critical hallmarks of every Halo game ever released by Bungie, the story telling, is conspicuously absent from Destiny.
Rather, we get bits and pieces and hints and scraps of what feels like a lot of very interesting and complex storylines, all of which have somehow been woven together to create the main plot and setting. A lot of disappointed people have said, ‘there’s no story at all!’, but in fact there are many teases of many different, very intriguing stories. It’s just that none of it – none of it all – has been developed at all. Like so many other aspects of Destiny, the lack of story and the barely-inferred plotlines leave the feeling that the folks at Bungie must have been interrupted in the middle of creating something epic, and Destiny is what we got instead.
To paraphrase Corey Taylor from Slipknot, it’s like sitting down at an incredible feast at the banquet table where you can see and smell the food, but you can’t touch the silverware.
But Bungie and Activision are not finished yet – not by a long shot, I suspect. We’re told they have a 10-year plan for this new IP, and you may safely believe there are budgets and sprint teams and resources and expansion plans tied to the business end of this thing. I expect that if sales of Destiny are meeting Activision’s internal plans –and maybe even if they’re not – we will eventually get a chance to get a lot more of the experience as it was originally intended by the folks who have doubtlessly worked long and hard to bring us Destiny as it exists today.
Despite all of its shortcomings, there’s still something compelling about Destiny. The actual gameplay, which is the meat-and-bones of every successful game and the most critical element of any game, is rock solid, and it’s still as addictive as ever.

A handy tool for Xbox One players

Verified Purchase:Yes
The licensed Energizer charging system for Xbox One controllers is handy to have around if you play a lot of Xbox One. It can fully charge one of two included battery packs in just a couple of hours. There's a bright red LED light that shines from the clear plastic brace around the controller while it's charging. Once it's charged, that changes to a bright green LED.
Curiously, the package doesn't include any assembly instructions of any kind. Though it does require some assembly, I guess the makers of the product must have figured it's not rocket science. It didn't take me too long to put it together looking at the product image on the front of the package, but it just seems weird that there isn't even an attempt to provide instructions.
I've had some trouble with the top controller slot already after just one use, but the bottom one is fine and I suspect the top one is too - probably just a finicky connection.
Overall, it seems like e a decent value for the money, and it'll pay for itself in a hurry in savings on AA batteries.

Decent cable but the connectors are questionable
on August 23, 2014

Verified Purchase:Yes
We bought this cable for use with my best friend's 8-month old 46" Samsung TV, to connect a brand new Samsung BluRay player. When we went to hook it up, we discovered that one end of the cable - fresh out of the box, with the protective plastic piece removed - wouldn't fit into the HDMI receptacle on the TV; not for love or money. The other end was snugly and securely attached to the BluRay player already.
We were careful not to bend the connectors on the cable nor on the TV, but it wasn't going in. At first, my friend was trying to make the connection. Having done this many times myself, I couldn't believe it wouldn't fit, so I gave it a try. It wasn't going in.
So we reversed the ends of the cable, and stuck the "problem" end into the BluRay player; this went in without much problem. Then we took the end that had previously been connected to the BluRay player, and connected it to the TV. This also connected securely.
So the question we may ask is, which is more likely to have been a shred off the standard size / dimensions: the Rocketfish cable end or the Samsung TV's HDMI port? I use Samsung products for everything, and I can attest to their quality, so I'm inclined to think the "bargain" cable was the issue.
The cable seems to work just fine and does what it's supposed to do, now that it's connected, but for a while there my friend was cursing the decision to save money on a relatively inexpensive cable, and I was struggling (not entirely successfully) against telling her "I told you so".

Glad to have it in my home

I needed to upgrade my entertainment center / TV stand for more space. I have a DVR, home theater receiver, BluRay player, XBOX One, Playstation 3 and a Playstation 4, and even with the BluRay on top of the DVR, my previous solution couldn't fit it all. This TV stand gave me enough room for all of that (with the BluRay still on top of the DVR) plus a touch of class that was missing from my previous, particle board stand.
A lot of cheaper TV stands and entertainment centers rely mainly on varnished or finished particle board or wood composites; it makes them light in weight but also inherently low in durability and sometimes kind of cheap-looking. But not this unit - there's no particle board here; it's all shiny black metal and glass.
I was surprised at how quickly and relatively easily it was assembled; most of it was doable with just one person, though there were a couple of steps where an extra set of hands was needful.
This stand looks classy, is a good match with most of my other black steel and glass furniture in the living room, gives me way more room for my components, and doesn't block airflow to the cold air return in the wall behind it. The flip side of that is that most of the cables and cords in the nest behind the stand are visible, but the unit does include some cable management tie-downs along the central main vertical piece in the back - we just didn't use 'em.
Overall, I'm very pleased with this unit. The price may seem a little steep at first, but you get what you pay for, and it's well worth it.

I've played Wildstar for perhaps 10-15 hours now, in total. My character is around level 11 or 12, I think, which may be an indicator of how fast I'm not - but getting a character to 11 or 12 in Wildstar is not like doing it in WoW, for example.
The game is fun. The graphics are colorful - if a bit skewed to the pastel palette - and the action is somewhat refreshing. Unlike WoW, which is probably a main competitor / target for Wildstar, you can't just sit back and click through a rotation on your hotbar. You need to move around, actively, during combat. You can see where enemy's major attacks and channeled abilities are going to land, and likewise, the UI shows where your attacks are aimed. And yes - you do have to aim your attacks; there's no auto targeting (at least not when dealing damage).
This isn't quite the revolutionary change that some of the "dev speak" videos suggest, at least inasmuch as I've seen something similar in Terra, and there are probably other MMOs that do this now, too. But it does make for a major change of pace from WoW. The double-jump mechanic is fun, too.
The plotline is mildly interesting if not compelling, but the game doesn't take itself too seriously, which is no surprise given the tone suggested in the TV and online ads. For example, the NPCs make sarcastic and pithy remarks - sometimes at their own expense - and each time you die, the announcer voice taunts you in a variety of amusing ways. The game also has Quake-style announcements for double-kills, multi-kills, etc. (The game is definitely action-oriented, but this is no FPS.)
The UI definitely takes some getting used to, and as I have adjusted, I've enjoyed the game more and more.
Wildstar is definitely worth checking out. I know some former hardcore WoW raiders who are lifetime converts, and there's a little bit of something for everyone.

My Best Buy number: 0048923682
What's great about it: Lots of players, good production values, polished and without too many bugs, interesting combat
What's not so great: Not quite as original as it wants to be
I would recommend this to a friend!

Completely customize your Wi-Fi Smart Color Thermostat to match your lifestyle and decor. The ENERGY STAR® certified smart thermostat lets you choose the temperature, schedule, display color and the devices you use to control it all.

Does this thermostat have a thermometer or is it separate?

Every thermostat has a thermometer built in. They control your heat and A/C by sending a signal to those systems when the temperature where the thermostat is gets above or below a certain point--that is, whatever temperature you have set. In order to know whether or not your A/C or heat should be running, thermostats use a thermometer to check the air around them. As far as I know, every thermostat can show you the current temperature using its thermometer. This particular one shows both the current temperature and your setting at the same time.

Keep cozy during cool weather with this Honeywell HCE323V ceramic tower heater that features digital controls, an LCD and a remote for easy operation. The auto tip-over shutoff function turns the unit off for added safety.

Does the thermostat on this heater work, meaning you can set a desired temp, when it is on the LOW setting? Some comments say no, the manual implies yes. Thanks!

I have confirmed that when it's on the low setting, you CANNOT set the thermostat.

Also, please note that the thermostat only goes as low as 60 degrees. If you're looking to simply keep a room from freezing, this heater will be running a lot more than you might need it to run.

Far Cry comes to America in the latest installment of the award-winning franchise.Hope County, Montana, has been overrun by a fanatical doomsday cult – The Project at Eden’s Gate. Upon your arrival, you must spark the fires of resistance to liberate the community.

Would this come in soon? Or if you order would it come in few days before release date or on the release date?

When I pre-order a game from Best Buy, they usually ship it before the release date; I get a shipping notice a day or two before the game is actually available to buy anywhere. Then I usually receive the game on the day of the release date.

Designed to cope with 4K gaming, high frame rates and exquisite detail, the Pascal GPU architecture takes the GDDR5 memory inside this card to a whole new level. Get every last drop of performance from your machine with this GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card.

I have an HP Pheonix with a GTX 980. Can this be a direct replacement for the 980?

It can be if the motherboard supports it and your case will fit it. I'm not familiar with the HP Phoenix so you might want to check the specifications for the measurements on this card and then see if there's enough room inside your case.

Then, make sure your motherboard has a PCI Express 3.0 slot (preferably x16). If so, you can pop out the 980, stick this bad boy in there, and you should see a substantial performance upgrade.

is this motherboard compatible with this gpu? Asus P8Z77-V DELUXE ATX LGA1155 Motherboard

Yes, it should be fine. You need a PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot to take full advantage of this card, and it looks like your motherboard does have that slot.

Why does my rating show 4+ when I rated it lower?

Because Insignia is Best Buy's own brand....

The Logitech Wireless Desktop MK710. Where comfort and productivity go hand-in-hand. This low-profile keyboard features Logitech Incurve keys, which are so comfortable you’d think they were custom-made to fit your fingers, and a cushioned palm rest. Up to three-year battery life for both keyboard and mouse practically eliminates the need to replace batteries.

My keyboard keeps capitalizing any first letter even wit numerals in from of it. Why? It prevents passwords.

Are you sure it's the keyboard causing this? It sounds to me like it might be something specific to either an application or maybe an OS setting.

If it happens in every application (including Notepad, Word, your Web browsers, etc.) you might try the keyboard with a different computer just to see if you get the same results. If not, it might be some setting in Windows causing this. If it happens on some other computer too, then maybe there is some issue with the keyboard, but that seems unusual to me.

If it only happens in one application, it's probably a setting in the app itself.

Dimensions of the shelves

How wide is the middle shelf and what is the height that can fit on the middle and bottom shelves? Trying to figure out what can be fit in this stand.

The middle shelf is 36 inches wide, with a little more than 5 1/2 inches of clearance.

The bottom shelf can take components up to 8 1/2 inches tall, including a full-sized home theater receiver.

Between the two of them, I have room for:

Home theater receiver
PS4
DVR
Xbox One
BluRay player
Wireless rear speaker transmitter for surround sound

...and more space left over.

This is a very nice piece of furniture - nothing cheap or chintzy here. If it'll fit all your stuff, it's well worth the money.
