Biggest & Best Fridge Our Small Kitchen Could Fit

We did a lot of shopping around and comparisons before buying this refrigerator. We had wanted to remodel our kitchen before buying a new fridge unfortunately our old refrigerator was slowly on it's way out after many years of service, this was the biggest refrigerator in the dimensions we had available we could get delivered to our area. The brand quality is very good so we didn't settle for second best.
The delivery crew was ready to take it back because they thought it wouldn't fit in our small kitchen, we measured it to be sure it would fit before we ordered it so knowing it would fit we asked they to try setting it up if couldn't fit we let them take it back for an exchange. They had to take the doors off to get it though our doors but it just fits in the available space.
After having lived with this refrigerator for a year we really like it, the temperature it keeps the fridge and freezer side are much colder than our old refrigerator ever did. We have a confidence in the food stored in the fridge side staying fresh, when we go to defrost something we know if we take it form the freezer and put it on the fridge side it will take a day or two to be defrosted.
The water system has a easy to change filter that does not leak while swapping filters. Seems to do a very good job filtering out impurities, we've dramatically cut back on bottle water consumption because the water is that good.
The two let downs are not really big deals but still can be a bother. First is the ice machine, does a fine job creating ice, its crushing or despising cubes that seems to take awhile. We've had other refrigerators which did theses tasks much more efficiently and in greater quantities. We are not sure if this is common of if we need to call for a repair. Not really big deal, just takes a little longer to get the ice we want.
The other issue is the storage on the freezer side door, tiny little places that really can't fit much of anything useful. Obviously this is because of this size limitation of our kitchen, models with bigger freezer sections and doors may not have this issue. What kind of hurts the usefulness of the door is the door shelves are thickly molded, probably for the bigger freezer doors, but on the smaller door the thickness of the shelves severely limits the useful space.
After a year of ownership those are our only real complaints. We would recommend this refrigerator to our friends.

Slightly upgraded Blu-ray

First Class it is a very good X-Men movie, this UHD 4K version is lacking. First issue the sound is the same as the Blu-ray release, major disappointment because we have been enjoying the Dolby Atmos sound. Second issue is the picture is honestly uninspiring, it might be better than the blu-ray but nothing popped. We can easily believe the upconverted blu-ray we already own would look as good.
Third issue is (sadly) FOX does not redeem UHD blu-ray UV codes as UDH you get the regular HD UV. Disappointing because WB, Universal, Lionsgate are trying to redeem their Blu-ray 4K UHD movies UV codes for streaming UHD, diffidently will affect our purchases of FOX 4K titles in the future.
In our opinion it is great movie but the 4K version hardly qualifies as UHD.

Great Scifi Series. But No Digital Copy

This is a very good Scifi Anime series.Plus I love the cars, Toyota 2000GT and Lexus LFA, Awesome sound sourcing.
This Anime actually improved on a few of the weak points from the Manga, good English dub voice acting too, although in our opinion the Japanese dub is a little better.
Dimension W is a good Scifi story set in the near future where clean unlimited power become the norm, but all is not as it seems. The hero is a loner eschewing the modern world. He makes his living essentially as bounty hunter collecting illegal Coils, think power black market sources. One day his bounty brings him into contact with a robot girl who is not what she seems and if she was found out would be hunted down by the powers that be. Eventually the technophobe and artificial girl are force to team up, it's a very enjoyable story, in fact we wish they would continue it.

The only disappointment (and the reason it didn't get 5 stars) is there is no digital copy, when we pre-ordered it said was suppoed to come with a digital copy, when it arrived it only had the disc copies. We pre-ordered it because of the digital copy, which Funimation has been including with some of the movie releases, it's a natural evolution to include it with the Anime series which cost more. We assume Funimation changed the final release details at the last minute.

We have had Onkyo receivers for a little over a decade, good with the bad, if you follow the brand you know there were some serious issues in the last 6 year. We were not planning to update our receiver anytime soon since the current THX certified receiver was working well. Then our Samsung Plasma 3D TV dies luckily the geek squad warranty enables us to buy a 4K tv, but we still were not planning to dip into the 4k movie quagmire, until we got a Xbox One S, which got us enjoying the 4k Blu-ray feature only find out the current Onkyo which said it was "4k ready" was not, could not pass-though 4k and could not handle Dolby Atmos or DTS X. Still not on hunt for a new receiver, until we come across a pretty good deal on a open box of this receiver under $300 so we take a chance. The open box comes in a looks good, pull everything out spending the next couple of hours wiring the new receiver up. Moment of truth comes and it does not work, the headphone indicator is on with no sound coming from the speakers, spend the next hours trying to update firmware and check for anything which could have caused this. Basically the open box was DOA, first open box from Best Buy we ever had a problem with. Also appears this is not a uncommon fault for this model and several brands receivers, guess they use the same parts supplier for some parts.
We called Best Buy their solution is to take it to the store for a return and the store will order another open box for us, probably going to be weeks to get it all straightened out and that is IF the next open box receiver works. Not thrilled but we trug into town to start the return, the young lady at the customer service desk does Best Buy a solid by taking the return and exchanging for a new one matching the price to the penny for what we paid with a 4 year warranty. Not sure she was supposed to do this (so her name is withheld) but it boosted our opinion of Best Buy immeasurably, we went from ticked off at getting a bad product to thinking we got a special deal.

On to the receiver now that we finally got one that works, to start with the sound calibration is totally different, still plug in the mic during the set up but the tones used are totally different. Pop in John Wick UHD Blu-ray to give it a quick test, not a movie you would think is a sound demo, maybe it's not however the first thing we noticed was the way this receiver uses the speakers is totally different, really surprised at the depth of sound our old speakers were capable of. It sounded like John Wick was in our kitchen body slamming a bad guy into the counter. Since then we've gathered other UHD movies just to enjoy the Atmos sound. Honestly we were not expecting to see such a significant difference, TrueHD and DTS HD were supposed to be transparent audio to the theater release, somehow Dolby Atmos is above and beyond. Also didn't think a sub $300 receiver would best a $700 THX certified receiver.
Should mention the price may reflect some of the options you may be used to missing like Sirius Radio app, and the on screen interface looks kind of cheap.

On a whole we love this new receiver and are gungho for new UHD to watch and even re-watching old blu-ray movies, but if you do buy one make sure to spend the extra on the Geek Squad warranty, Onkyo (and other companies like Yahama) can have quality issues which appear down the road.
Honestly the Open Box probably should be avoided, they are either bad unites from the get go or further damaged in shipping. We would recommend new units to friends but not the open box.

Would give it 5 stars base on how happy we are with it except for the problems with the open box and the concern it might fail in the future.

Overall Good Electric Range

We read the reviews and took seriously the complaints about this model, after much deliberation we decided on this range and so far it has not disappointed. Not to say everything is perfect.
Some reviews complain the dials for the cook-top can become hot when boiling or simmering near them, never been an issue for us, I can only assume somebody put their hand through steam to turn the heat down and thought the design faulty.

What we do find fault with is the cooktop is easily marred, or at least more readily than our 15 year old range this replaces. We noticed a slight mark after delivery but decided not to make a big deal about it, as the year when on it would get a mark here or there, we also noticed it was harder to keep clean than the old range with had the same kind of cooktop.
My sister has the same brand range only maybe a few years older, it has lights by each dial to let you know which burner is hot, this model has only one light to let you know the cooktop is hot in general. We miss being able to know which burner is hot at a glance.

The oven is great, we love having a convection oven although it take some getting used to. Cooking times are generally shortened. Over all the oven clean and efficient.
After a just over a year of living with it we wouldn't recommend this model to a friend, just because of the cooktop issues we've had. However this flaw may be corrected in newer models and over all we are not disappointed with the Samsung brand or this model range. If we were to pick a new Range today we might holdout for one with a slightly better cook top.

Nifty Xbox One Charger

Neat little charger for the launch Xbox One, it is form fitted to plug into the left side USB port of the original Xbox One, the One S is molded differently so I doubt it will fit as nicely. Even so it can be adapted with a USB extender to charge just about anywhere.
We have a Energizer Xbox One charger which requires the battery cover be replaced to use their system, and leaving the controller on a charger. We like this system better because we can just swap the batteries out to keep our favorite controller in action instead of setting it aside to charge.
Only giving it four starts because the batteries can be installed wrong if you're not careful and I'm cautiously optimistic about battery life. However it maybe a 5 star product in the end.

Its has cheap build quality, however I beleive this is being sold as a loss leader by Canon to essentially sell ink. They have done this in the past few years with a few printers like the MG2920. The MG2920 was sold for under $30 and is a very cheap printer with no interface and a pain to connect to a network, the refills cost more than the printer. The PIXIMA TS9020 has a great interface, connects easily to the network and has great print quality, at least so far for us. And yes the refills will cost more than the printer, so my guess is Canon's strategy is to flood the market eventually making their money back by selling ink.
