Simple, Easy to Install, and Works as Advertised

The SimpliSafe - Defend Wireless Home Security System is the answer to traditional, high-priced security solutions. Before receiving my package, I watched a video showing how easy and simple it is to set up. I was duly impressed, but assumed the reality would be more difficult than the video presented. To my pleasant surprise, setting the system up was as easy as advertised!
My use scenario is in a mid-sized duplex and I had no issues with distances between the base station and the various sensors. All items went up quickly and securely with the included adhesive strips. Set-up instructions were simple and easy to understand and implement.
The one issue I encountered was not due to the system, but was a consequence of the small, isolated community where I am currently living. We do not have sufficient coverage by T-Mobile, SimpliSafe's preferred cellular carrier. This prompted a call to their customer service which was friendly, responsive and took immediate steps to solve the issue. In my case, they shipped (overnight) a new part for me to (easily) swap out in the base station so it would work with Verizon. Once completed, I tested the unit and immediately received both email and app notifications of the sensors I'd intentionally triggered. After turning off the 'test' mode, I tried the panic button and then stopped it. I immediately received a call from SimpliSafe checking to see if assistance was needed (and also received the app and email notifications).
I am very impressed with this system. It is not just a great idea for an affordable solution to security needs, it is also very well implemented and exceptionally easy to self-install. Well done.

Powerful, Smart and Excellent Blender

The Ninja Chef - 72-Oz. Blender is very impressive. It is absolutely solid and has the power and feel of a professional unit. It is well-designed and gave me confidence in using it, since I'm new to making my own smoothies and health-drinks. Because of this, I found the IQ modes especially useful: just put in the ingredients, choose the setting, push the button and let it do all the work - changing modes, pulsing and accelerating as needed. Boom, it stops and I've got a completely smooth drink.
There are a number of added attachments you can get for it, and I'm already considering them.
Bottom-line, this is a powerful, solid, smart and impressive blender that feels like something that would be found in a much higher price range.

Solid, Flexible, Feature-filled Sound Box

The Sony GTK-XB60 High Power Home Audio System is an impressive all-in-one solution for many usage scenarios. The large number of features makes it very flexible. First, it gives a full, strong sound that has good punch, but also decent sound at lower volumes. Next, it can work with a number of input sources - including mixing a vocal mic along with music. The battery charges automatically when using it plugged in and makes it useful for outdoor settings away from electricity. For lively types and DJs, the lighting feature may be welcome for party atmosphere. I'm not interested in the party lights, but the more subtle settings can be useful in a dark room at night. Unfortunately, I had trouble getting the lights to stay off. After choosing the 'none' setting (for lighting) on the app, it goes black. However, after a few minutes, the lights kept coming back on. I assume this is an issue that may be tied to one of the apps that work with the unit and will be corrected soon.
On the other hand, the Sony apps both connected fairly easily and had some great options for sound and lighting. I did need to reconnect it after not using the speaker for a day.
Thanks to it's many features, this unit will find itself useful in a number of scenarios.

The BISSELL - MultiReach Bagless Cordless Stick Vacuum is just what I needed. The ease of using it without a cord is a delight and the battery seems to hold plenty of charge. The suction is powerful and the various attachments and configurations are very easy to switch out. The powered floor attachment also has plenty of power.
I also like the fact that, if needed, I can remove the batter and charge it separately without any additional electronics.
All-in-all, this is the portable, lighter-duty vacuum I've been needing.

The SanDisk - iXpand Base 64GB iPhone Charger and Backup is a unique product that simply does what it claims: Charges your iPhone while automatically making a back-up of your contacts and/or photos. Although it looks a lot like a wireless charging station, it isn't. But it has a neat feature that allows you to wrap your charging cable so that any excess is out of sight. There is a useful app that works well with it and there are multiple options for restoring the information to your iPhone should the need arise.
Although you can, of course, accomplish the same back-up goals via iCloud, it's always nice to have added protection. In my case, my less tech-savvy wife has lost her contacts and photos more than once after swimming with her phone - even though I thought I had her iCloud back-up working (I'll skip the background story on that). So, for us, it is a welcome solution which will give her added peace.

Engaging and Fun with Interesting Potential

The Sphero Mini is a great toy that was more engaging than I expected. In addition, after just a day of experimenting with it, I found myself thinking of creative ways to put it to use. Actually, I have 2 - a white and a pink one - so I'm planning on building an obstacle course for an event my church hosts. Can't wait to watch the kids (and adults) put the Spheros through their paces.

I wasn't, personally, that drawn to the games, but I noticed that the Sphere Mini will be included in the units accessible by the Sphere Edu app which allows for programming actions. The Linksys - WRT32X AC3200 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Gaming Router is a solid, full-featured router with all the latest tech and equipped for next-generation speeds. I love simple set-ups and this was the quickest router set up I have yet experienced.
The software is easy to use, but useful for all levels of control. I don't have a Killer enabled device so can't speak to that. However, the prioritization process is simple and I like being able to rename each device.
All-in-all this is a powerful, full-featured router at a reasonable price. Excellent for normal household use with added key features for gamers.

A Great Remote Camera with Excellent Features

The D-Link Omna 180 Cam HD is a full-featured security camera with a high-quality image, good sound and speaker functions and a useful motion-detector with the helpful ability to adjust sensitivity.
The night vision is excellent, allowing me to see everything very clearly (infrared black and white). The new OMNA app works very well and integrated with Apple Home app smoothly.
Set up seemed simple initially, but it took a follow-up conversation with tech support to get it back up and running correctly. The included documentation wasn't clear enough and even the more detailed, online information wasn't enough for me to understand a couple of important steps. The tech support was friendly and helpful. Just wish I hadn't needed to call for it.
But, now that it's working as advertised, I'm very impressed by it.

Windows Only Document Scanning Workhorse

The Epson - WorkForce DS-860 Document Scanner is a document scanning workhorse. A solid product in a small package that scans pages extremely fast and well. As others have said, it's clearly directed towards businesses, schools and other organizations that scan large quantity of pages per day - or face large batches of pages to scan quickly on a regular basis. Although limited to 81/5" width, it also scans business cards, postcards, etc. The basic quality is very good. It's not designed for hi-rez image scanning, but it's amazing how well it does at such speed.
The only reason I did not give this a 5-star rating is:
1) It DOES NOT WORK WITH MAC OS, which forces me to use my Windows 10 laptop.
2) While the software has most of the features you want for basic document scanning, it's an old-style Windows program that forces you to take extra steps which most modern-style software programs reduce and simplify. However, I suspect the settings rarely need to be changed in normal usage.
All-in-all, a solid workhorse for document scanning.
The only reason I did not give this a 5-star rating is:
1) It DOES NOT WORK WITH MAC OS, which forces me to use my Windows 10 laptop.

Great Printer, Great Price, Good Photos

The HP ENVY Photo 6255 All-in-One Printer is simply a good, solid printer for general use - and especially if that includes photo printing. It was easy to set up - including the wifi print features. Ink was simple to install and the auto-order feature for receiving more ink when you need it will work well for me. It has a limited paper quantity (if you print more than small jobs) which is fine for my use. The photo colors are vibrant. The added photo-size paper feeder is helpful and the scan / copy features are standard. All-in-all, a good mix of features for the price.

If you still have to have Internet service what do I need this thing for I already have a router
If you're satisfied with your current wifi you don't need this. If your wifi is older tech and weak in spots, this system should give you a wifi signal that is stronger and speedier.
