It is clearly more outlets than I needed, but I was after the Joules. It works exactly as expected. The only minor complaint is the switch could be more tactual. In the subdues light (who puts these things right under the light?) the switch is hard to find by feel and it operation could have more throw. I am still glad I purchased it.

The theory is sound, boot on the stick and then scan so that any issues with the OS will be detected. But do you need it? For Mac, probably not (I didn't.) Plus you get bombarded with soliciting e-mails trying to scare you into parting with your money to get what you should have gotten for the $60 you spent getting the stick. WebRoot scans when it first come up, so if there are no OS issues, this should not be needed.

I do not know the answer to the first question, but the button to the right of the F15 key checks the charge on the keyboard. You will notice to its right is a smily face and a frown. When you press the button, a green light comes on indicating adequate charge (smily face). Inadequate charge is the lower red light.
