In the premiere season of this drama based on Debbie Macomber's book series of the same name, small-town judge and divorcée Olivia Lockhart (Andie MacDowell) considers leaving her coastal hometown in Washington state and accepting a federal judgeship. Jack Griffith (Dylan Neal), a big-city reporter who's new in town, prepares a story about this, but Olivia soon finds herself turning down the promotion and striking up a romance with Jack.
