The Best Go Pro with Pro Level Features
on October 10, 2020

This Go Pro has gone far above and beyond the previous Go Pros that have been brought to market. First off, as a pilot who lives off using Go Pro cameras, I can say trying to see the screen without opening the app in a tight cockpit is a pain. They have finally incorporated a front-facing screen that allows you to even adjust field of view for the preview. It made my set up so much easier. As for functionality, there are so many tweaks and settings to adjust it is overwhelming, but in a good way. You can really control your image much better now. The color representation is spot on and even though when I fly with the Go Pro on the wing and I cannot really adjust the exposure on the fly unless I connected the app, it balances the exposure of the sky and ground pretty well. The only gripe I have with this model is the new battery/USB-C compartment. I use a Go Pro USB to analog audio/usb charge adapter and you can still take the door off but the battery is now exposed. The manual even warns you the battery can slip out. I don't think that was the wisest design decision hence 4 stars, but I believe it must be due to the fact of the bigger battery now. I love the new foldable mount and no need for a case or skeleton around the camera anymore. I have a lot more to discover but if you want the best Go Pro for your money look no further than this model!

A Portable Powerhouse - Workstation on the Go
on July 8, 2020

from Toms River, NJ
For complete transparancy in this review I did receive this Surface Book 3 without incurring any cost as part of the Best Buy Tech Insider Network program. Reviewers in this invitation-only program are provided products for the purpose of writing honest, unbiased reviews.
When I received my Surface Book 3 in the mail after hours of research on the unit I had high hopes for what the machine would be able to do, it did not disappoint.
To start the packaging of the unit is simple yet completely protective of the computer and accessories. In fact I used it as my transportation method until I found a case to protect it. The box is made of a heavy grade material that ensures a small drop will dent the case but not the contents. The design is simplistic and easy to open and remove any protective plastic with obvious tabs to pull on.
Now, to the real guts of the review, the computer. This machine is a workhorse and the speed is unmatched to most products in this niche category of laptops/workstations. After the typical windows setup I made sure to load on some of my personal programs I cannot live without, that being Adobe Photoshop and InDesign. The speed of these programs is exactly what I would expect for a machine of this specification. Typically if you try to run these programs on a weaker system it will hang trying to think of what to compute next. Not with the Surface Book 3. Editing photos, creating masks, and multiple layer projects was like sipping a Iced Tea next to the pool, it was simple, easy, and most of all not stressful. The fact that the Surface Book 3 was sticking it's tongue out at me because I wasn't working it hard enough, became a challenge to me. I decided to push this machine to a higher limit. I loaded up Multiple browser windows with YouTube videos playing, Photoshop, InDesign, and Microsoft Excel. Now I was pushing the machine. I could hear the machine working slightly harder to keep up with me using Photoshop as most resources of the machine were being hogged by other programs. Switching to InDesign it was responsive but slightly behind. Checking the task manager and resources that were being used I was pushing this machine close to its 100% mark. Now granted, the chances you'll run 7 youtube videos at once, plus Excel, InDesign, and Photoshop at one time is slim, especially if you are purposely trying to push the machine to it's max capacity. That being said, I found where the machine started working hard and began to back down and had 1 YouTube video running in browser, Excel, InDesign, Photoshop, and then Outlook all on at once. The machine resumed to it's normal speedy self. No surprise. From a stress test perspective of a workstation, this beyond passed my personal test.
Let's talk annotation, I already owned a Surface Pen, and wanted to see how it worked on the Surface Book, and it was actually a big upgrade from what I was used to. The palm rejection has drastically improved from what I was used to, and the drawing, notation, and overall natural feeling of writing digitally was beyond what I was expecting. When writing the flow of the pen is almost instantaneous. This also because the processor behind the machine can handle doing this much faster. When I went to sign my name it was like writing on paper. Smooth and uncontested.
Docking and undocking, let's dive into that. When undocking the screen the machine 'clicks' and indicates on screen it is ready for undock. If after a few seconds of inactivity you will hear a click again and it'll automatically redock. When removing the screen it auto detects removal and adjusts as needed. Performance takes a hit because the performance base is the keyboard section, but if you are looking to be portable to browse the internet, or annotation in a meeting, you won't notice a difference. You will notice the machine will tend to heat up more undocked if doing performance heavy tasks. Slightly uncomfortable after awhile where you feel you could begin to cook an egg on it, but again, it isn't designed to be a workhorse undocked. Redocking is simple and uneventful.
Finally the display, the clarity and resolution is incredible. The color reproduction is spot on and very important if you are a graphic designer where color matters. The screen has a nice glass finish on it, and will perform ok in direct sunlight That being said, the brightness feature can make this screen blinding with how bright it can go. This is the reason I could say in direct sunlight you could use it but beware of the glare. The brightness will compensate for it and you'll still be able to see but obviously if not out of direct sunlight.
Overall, this machine is an incredible investment to make. If you are looking for a portable, lightweight, workstation that will last you a long time, the Surface Book 3 is going to be the best approach for you and will not disappoint you when you are running up to a deadline and need to ensure your machine will perform to the best ability.

An Awesome Headphone for the Dedicated Gamer
on June 6, 2020
Posted by: TVProducer
from Toms River, NJ
When I received these headphones, I was excited but cautious. I am quite picky when it comes to sound reproduction and quality, however, at this price point I had certain expectations. I opened the box which was well packaged, and downloaded the configuration software as directed. I updated the firmware on the headphone, and then I was off to the races.
The first day I was seriously disappointed in the quality as I heard ZERO lows or bass and for a headphone at this cost I knew I had to be doing something wrong. So I looked at my audio devices in Windows. What I found was a surprise and a gift in the same hand. There are 2 Audio output devices CHAT, and GAME. 1 Input which is the mic. I had my output for my system and games set to CHAT. I Switched it to GAME, and boy was that NIGHT vs DAY. The surrounding sound boomed into my ears with power and fidelity that I had never noticed before. There is also a mix slider on the headphone that can be set to be even distribution of CHAT vs GAME. If you move it from even distribution to just GAME output you get a slight DB boost but nothing severe, if anything it reduced the CHAT output. I have longed for a headset that I could set Discord or Teamspeak to one audio output and the main game to its own channel that I could quickly adjust while in game when my friends are being way too loud or boisterous. The USB C to USB A cable is quite long and of a very good quality. The microphone pickup sounds great for a small headphone mic as well, even when using it as a stream microphone source, my viewers say it sounded crisp, and I could not agree more. If you move the microphone into the stowed position it'll automatically mute which is handy when needed.
Overall, I am not a huge fan of wired headsets as I am restricted in my movement, HOWEVER, this Quantum 400 broke my gripe with it and with the quality I am receiving using this device, it is well worth being tied down.

Quiet but packing a punch
on May 16, 2020
Posted by: TVProducer
from Toms River, NJ
This is my first ever device designed for massaging and muscular recovery. First, when I started this thing up at full blast I could not believe how quiet it was for the power it sustained. In fact I had to turn it to the lowest setting first to get used to using it. The different heads, which are easy to swap off, certainly have their uses. This thing is not only a wonderful device for post workout recovery but also if you pull a muscle or have a knot in your back. The amount of pumps it puts out per second is amazing, and it is easy to carry around and use. The sound alone being so quiet for what it can do blows my mind. As I am the only one using it I can go a few days without a recharge but if you are a trainer you probably will want to always charge it after you are done using it to ensure it is ready for the next client.

This Portable SSD is exactly what the moving video editor or programmer needs. The fingerprint sensor is another great security feature and was a simple setup in the Samsung utility. This worked well both for MAC and PC. The speed is also very impressive and I didn't deal with any read write issues. Overall, I would highly reccomend this for someon who needs a portable storage device for either USB-C or standard USB-A connections.

Saves me a gym membership - and it works
on November 25, 2019
Posted by: TVProducer
from Toms River, NJ
After a week or so with this product I have tested and sweat from every pore on my body. First off, when I got the product setup was painless (unlike my workout). Admittedly, the resistance bands I was so fearful of snapping but they are high quality. The product guide suggests to not extend the band more than 2.5x its untensioned length. I think the smaller bands are no big deal but when you get to the 80's that is where I get more nervous stretching the band. The guide also says like with any tension based product wear on the band will eventually cause it to fail. If you observer any cracks tears holes, do not use. I dread the day one of those bands snap, but i'll just keep a close inspection eye on each. Aside from the physical hazards, the workout is just like using actual weights, my muscles were being tasked and after doing all the workouts I felt great, and didn't have to hobble out to my car drive home, have cramps, etc. I could hop right in the shower and massage out the muscles and continue with my day. This product is high quality and if you are someone who is open to trying something new from home with a lower price tag while still 'Feeling the Burn' - choose this product.

Secure Exercising Sound - Poor Microphone Pickup
on November 11, 2019
Posted by: TVProducer
from Toms River, NJ
I have been looking for a solid pair of wireless exercise around the ear earbuds and these did not disappoint for the most part. First they utilize a tunnel like design where your earwax will not start applying directly to the sound driver and muffle it which is great, second it wraps around the ear and will not move when running. Drawbacks are when on a call the microphone picks up everything so if you are in a coffee shop you are not able to be heard over the room noise. Second is the audio quality is not the deepest I have heard with a good amount of bass but it seems to me the mids and highs are what are more obvious when listening to music. Not a massive drawback though. It's a good product and it gets the job done when working out!

Solid Protection, Low on CPU Load
on October 21, 2019
Posted by: TVProducer
from Toms River, NJ
I have used the majority of Virus Protection programs. AVG has always been a good product from their free tier to this product. Software is easy to install and setup. The PC Cleaning addon software is also very useful and helps give the PC a little backend boost and cleanup. Only improvement I would want is a backend management of devices to be able to deactivate a device when it is no longer needed with protection. Overall my PC did not seem to take a CPU or Network hit and I am happy with the protection it is creating on my PC

Saves me a Boatload of money on INK and is FAST
on September 9, 2019
Posted by: TVProducer
from Toms River, NJ
This is my first Tank based printer and i can tell you after spending thousands on ink I am never going back. First, at a cheap $20 per black ink for thousands of prints it is a no brainer for the capital cost of the actual printer.
The setup of wireless was a little annoying but I got it working, the flow just isn't as easy as they try to make it. Once it is setup on your network though it is simple to add more computers to see the printer
The print quality is superb and it is a pretty quiet printer with the speed it produces prints at. There are settings to adjust the density of the color, or darkness, I should say. Color is accurate and vibrant. When printing on photo paper the quality is pretty impressive as well.
Overall this is a great printer for the work at home employee or the student in college or high school. Ink is cheap, and lasts much longer than your standard packs you usually order. I will never return to non-tank based printers after the experience I have had.

Fantastic Machine - Quiet, Powerful, and EASY
on August 30, 2019
Posted by: TVProducer
from Toms River, NJ
I have been looking for a vacuum for awhile that meets my needs which are for a small apartment that has hardwood floors, shag carpet, and plenty of nooks and crannies. This did not disappoint. First, the ability to disconnect the handle which doubles as the vacuum hose is genius. It allows me to get in corners that usually I could not access. The amount of suction the machine generates is impressive for its suction to noise ratio. It comes with other addon tools like a mini vaccuum for stairs that works really well. I sucked up some change and heard it banging around in the rotor. Usually a pain to remove, this time was 5 seconds, painless. Pop open the roller lid and remove. To test this to its real potential, I sucked up a pencil. It went up the hose and stopped. Easy, disconnect hose, remove, reconnect, keep going. This is a great vacuum and certainly worth the price point it is at.

how far apart are the tv legs and can they be moved closer together

They are about 5 to 6 inches from each edge of the screen for the slots that the legs go in. However, They only go in one way and cannot be reversed. Youll need significant table real estate for it to work.

Safeguard your home with this Arlo security camera system. This Arlo security camera system is weather-resistant, so it's functional rain or shine.

Do the Ultra cameras have improved motion detection compared to the Pro 2? I currently get false alerts when the Pro 2 detects shadows from tree limbs. I would like to upgrade only if the Ultra has improved motion detection.

I believe so. You can set your motion zones and it seems like their AI improves the more it is running as it is able to learn the usual parameters of the frame. For example, I don't get alerts with my air conditioner from audio triggers because it has learned that it is a standard in the space.
