An Excellent Entry-Level Gaming Rig

The HP Omen is an excellent all-around computer, but doesn't hit very many of the major "tick boxes" people investing in a gaming PC are looking for. However, with a few upgrades, this can be a great gaming PC.
The Intel Core i5-7400 processor quad core processor provides excellent gaming speeds, up to 3.0 Ghz. It also features 7 USB ports to support all of your gaming peripherals. Paired with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card with 3 GB of GDDR5 RAM, you're looking at an impressive gaming rig.
The HP Omen features the ability to change the color of the lights on the tower. You can have them do a solid color, a light show, or use the color of the tower to indicate the CPU load or the CPU temperature. Not only is this cool, it can be quite handy.
The included keyboard and mouse will be sufficient to get the computer setup in the first place, but if you are going to use this system as a gaming PC, then you need to at least get a better mouse, with more weight to it, and some extra buttons.
I was surprised to see this system didn't have an SSD or a hybrid hard drive. Having upgraded my 8 year old computer with an SSD prior to getting this system, I saw how dramatic a difference an SSD can make in startup times for both the OS and individual games and apps.
Also, 8GB of RAM may be a bit low, depending on the games you are playing, but adding RAM is easy and fairly cheap.
Overall, this is a great starter gaming PC that will allow for plenty of upgrades for the future to come.

The Dyson V7 Motorhead is a wireless unit for flexibility and convenience. It features an incredibly easy setup, but requires 3.5 hours of initial charge time per the instructions. Once it is charged, you are ready to go.
I was able to vacuum 2300 square feet on one charge with seemingly plenty of juice left to continue. I also was able to vacuum the ceiling corners on the same charge. The unit is light enough that I didn't need to switch hands while vacuuming the house.
The vacuum itself is very maneuverable and also has a very low profile so that you can vacuum under beds, and even some couches and dressers. This means you don't have to move as much furniture around to get a good clean.
The Dyson V7 Motorhead comes with upholstery attachment with brush, and an attachment to go in tight spaces like couch crevices. It also includes a wall mount so that the unit can be put up and out-of-the-way while it charges.
The unit has 2 suction modes, one for regular suction, one for extra suction. Keep in mind that during regular operation, only normal suction should be used, or it will greatly reduce the battery life.

I present a lot, and as such, am always looking for better ways to present. My recent time with the Logitech Spotlight Presentation Remote has been nothing short of amazing. I set it up in a presentation hall, an was amazed with how fluid the remote was;I can casually use it at my side so that it doesn't distract from a presentation. I was able to move freely around the room without worrying if the remote would work.
The Logitech Spotlight Presentation Remote is essentially an all-in-one presentation tool. It features fully-customization on-screen pointers featuring a spotlight effect, magnification, and more. You can also customize the operations of the remote's buttons.
One of my favorite features of this remote is the timer feature. You can set a timer prior to starting your presentation, and the presentation remote will vibrate for each of these timers. This is especially helpful during Q&A sessions, so you can warn the audience when there are just a few minutes left. Too often, I have made presentations where I ran over without knowing it.
The Quick Charge feature is also amazing. In just one minute of charging, you get three hours of charge. Also, once the device is fully charged, it will maintain a charge for up to 3 months, so you are always ready to present. Connectivity-wise, the Logitech Spotlight Presentation Remote can connect using either Bluetooth, or the supplied USB dongle.
If you present often, the Logitech Spotlight Presentation Remote is worth its weight in gold.

Amazingly Convenient, Flexible Security System

The setup for these cameras is wildly easy since the cameras are rechargeable. This means that you don't have to worry about any wiring, you just have to charge them up when necessary. This flexibility alone gives Netgear's Arlo Pro security cameras a huge advantage over most any other security setup out there.
The video produced by the cameras is clear, and you have several options for saving the video. You get free cloud-based storage with the purchase of the unit, and can also save video locally on a USB drive.
The night vision video was surprisingly clear for 20-30 feet, which outperforms some other security cameras I have worked with.
The system also features a 100+ decibel siren, which can be activated remotely, or be set to go off when sound or motion is detected. Needless to say, the siren is loud and effective.
My favorite feature of the cameras is their 2-way audio capabilities. I am now using one of these cameras to monitor my front door to keep an eye out for packages, etc., but now, when a solicitor comes, I can see them on the camera, ask what they are selling, and dismiss them if I am not interested. This is a huge convenience, especially if I am in my workshop in the back yard.
The downsides to these cameras were minimal. First, the motion activated video seems to take about a second to start up. Also, the cameras only record at 720p, however, this is part of why the rechargeable batteries last so long, and 720p video should be more than adequate for any security setup.

Amazing Wi-Fi Coverage and a Quick Setup

Let me start by saying that the Velop nodes, as well as their packaging, are beautiful. Opening the box was an experience in and of itself. These were made for unboxing videos. Each individual node is simple yet elegant, and fits into any room's decor.
The Velop 3-pack comes with 3 nodes, allowing complete Wi-Fi coverage on up to 6000 square feet. This translates to most homes, as well as the front and back yard. The setup is quick and easy, assuming you have a smart phone. There is no way to complete the setup using your computer, as the setup relies on using the Linksys Mobile app for Android or IOS. Assuming you have a smart phone, the setup was seamless and only took about 10 minutes.
The app also lets you quickly prioritize devices, create a guest network, check your network's performance, receive notifications if your network is down for any reason, and shut the entire network down if you need to do so.
The coverage and speeds I am getting from the Velop nodes is amazing. Areas in my home that never had coverage now have amazing speeds and I no longer have and Wi-Fi dead spots.
The only downside to the Velop Wi-Fi mesh system I have found is that if you rely on many devices that must be hard-wired to your network using Ethernet cables, you will probably need to purchase a networking switch to accommodate the hard-wired devices, as each node only has 2 Ethernet ports, and the node that is connected to your modem will only have one open port.

I have enjoyed other Ninja Coffeemakers, but they tend to make a single cup at a time. The Ninja Coffee Bar 10-Cup Coffeemaker, as the name implies, makes up to 10 cups of coffee at a time. This is perfect, as I drink about 2 pots of coffee per day.
The water reservoir and the coffee scoop ensure you get a consistent coffee experience by regulating the amount of coffee grinds and water used in each cup. Combine this with Ninja's Thermal Flavor Extraction methods and pre-infusion, and you've got excellent coffee, every time.
The built-in frother is also a welcomed feature, as it is not only very sturdy and easy to use, but it is easy to clean, snapping off for easy washing.

The Philips Norelco Multigroom 7400 has proven to be an amazing piece of grooming equipment. As someone who has a large beard and shaves his head with hair clippers, this is an all-in-one appliance for me.
As I said, I have a large beard. When trimming it, in the past, battery operated trimmers have tended to get tangled in my beard and end up yanking the hairs, which can be incredibly painful. With the Multigroom 7400, this is not an issue. I was able to shave my head and trim about 3 inches off of my beard, and still had plenty of charge left to use the ear and nose trimmer included.
The versatility of the Multigroom 7400 comes from its many attachments. The attachments allow you to do primary trimming, precision trimming, nose and ear trimming, hair trimming, and even body trimming. This makes the Multigroom 7400 perfect for anyone with a lot of hair (e.g. a beard), as well as anyone with specific needs, like lines or a strong fade.
Overall, the Multigroom 7400 is perfect for an individual, or even a family, that handle their hair cutting needs at home. Considering the battery lasts approximately an hour, it means you can cut the whole family's hair.

It features a full spectrum of photo editing, including photo organization, quick fixes, color correction and removal, and more.
It can also create text from your photos, allows you to substitute new backgrounds for your photos, can add motion blur, and can even turn a frown upside down (literally). The filters also allow a lot of photo manipulation, allowing you to make photos look like drawings, give them a cartoonish look, or even make them black-and-white.
It also has a lot of fun features, such as custom frames for your photos, custom Facebook banners, and collages made with not just photos, but effects as well. You can also create gifts, such as photo books and custom calendars.
This is an excellent package for anyone who wants to get into photo editing, and will do many of the features automatically if you want to take the guess-work out of the job. A Great Package for Photo and Video Editing

Installation was a snap for both programs, especially if you already have an Adobe ID. If you don't, creating one is a snap.
Adobe Premiere Elements allows you a full range of video editing options, more than suitable for your average home movie editing, all the way to a successful Youtuber. It features several modes, including an automatic movie maker, a guided mode, and an expert mode.
The expert mode does have a learning curve, and can take com time to get used to, but for simpler edits, this will do. If you are looking for complex motion tracking and/or complex greenscreening, also known as chromakey, then you'll probably want to spring for the pro edition of Adobe Premier, vs. the Elements version.
Adobe Photoshop Elements, like its Premiere counterpart, has less features than the pro version of Adobe Photoshop, but for your average user, it is more than suitable. It features a full spectrum of photo editing, including photo organization, quick fixes, color correction and removal, and more.

Google Home - An Excellent Assistant

Google home is a high-powered speaker combined the Google Assistant. Google Assistant is a voice-activated digital assistant that can help you with a Plethora of activities and information.
The Google Assistant can do everything from answer complex math questions, cast YouTube videos onto any device connected to Chromecast, control the music (and the volume), as well as set and execute alarms so you won't lose track of time.
The ability to cast videos hand-free means that you can get help with everything from cooking recipes to computer troubleshooting without having to leave your work space or your project.
Google Home works best for areas where you will have need for hands-free control, such as a kitchen or other work area. Mine is setup in my workshop, so that I can get information and control my music while I am working on home improvement and woodworking projects. I was amazed at how well it could recognize my requests for information, even in loud environments while I was running various power tools.
Google Home can also control any home automation products you might have like a Nest Internet controlled home thermostat, power sockets, garage doors, home locks, and more.
A few fun things to ask the Google Assistant are: "OK Google, Tell me a Joke," "OK Google, sing me a song," and "OK Google, what am I thinking right now?" I won't ruin the fun, but be sure to try these questions on your Google Assistant.

I’m confused. How/ where does it get ota channels? Is there an antenna that comes with it? Similar to the digital antenna I use now for local channels? Or does it get the local ota channels and stream to device via the internet?
It actually has a coaxial cable plug-in so that you can use any OTA antenna with it.You should be able to use the digital antenna you mentioned in your question. That said, you can get a new, Smart 4k TV for around $300-$450, so I would go that route unless you are on an extremely tight budget. 4k, plus Roku is a much better option in my opinion. If nothing else, Roku isn't going anywhere.

Yes, the HP Omen 25 supports Freesync. The HP Omen 27, on the other hand, supports G-Sync, an alternative to Freesync that requires NVIDIA GPUs to work.

does it support AT&T Digital life and its Nest devices and thermostats that are attached to the system ?
It supports Nest devices, but you would have to contact AT&T about future integration, but currently it isn't supported.

Does this support Sonos? iTunes?
No, not at this time. IT also doesn't support Amazon Music. It currently only supports Google Play Music, Spotify, Pandora, and YouTube Music.

Can this be used if the phone the main account is tied to is not at home? IE: Could my wife ask it to play music from Google Play if I'm not there? I'm not asking about family accounts but if this will remember my account if my phone isn't around?
Yes, Google Home will work regardless of if the primary account holder is around. Great question!

Does google home has an accesory for lock and unlock doors?
Yes, you must make sure your door locks are compatible, but it does support this function.
