The phone for everyone.

Phones have come along way since the last time I was using an Android phone. The last several years I have been using an iPhone as it made my job easier, but I have always liked and appreciated Android and all the features they bring to smartphones. Now since I have been fully entrenched in the other ecosystem I have not really kept up with everything going on with Android, but when I had the opportunity to go back I was excited to get a chance to see what android has now.
My first thought was wow this is an entry level phone the quality has gone up tremendously. I would say for most people these phones are perfect they have everything they need and they run great.
No more of the days where you are giving up performance with price everything you need done this phone can handle and even has some features you don’t see by the other guys at this price.

My only cons with the phone is it’s a bit bulkier than I typically like, it can get a bit warm when you do some moderate use and the screen brightness is not great when outside.
The pros definitely outwiegh any cons for this phone. The screen is great especially once you turn on the 90hz mode and having the same chip the high end pixels have definitely shows in the performance and how quick everything responds.
Overall if you want a phone that can do it all that wont break the bank this is it. The performance on the phone is great and can do everything you want.

Great for keeping you cool

I have been looking for ways to keep myself cool during the summer months at my job, our new facility is open ,outside and has no areas of shade. It can get pretty brutal during the summer. This is where the coolify comes in was excited when it showed up as it was starting to warm up during the day, but it still pretty cool at night and the morning so I was excited to be able to try out both systems.
I started off with warming feature and I will say that it’s not quite as good as the cooling but still does a decent job of making you feel warm and I will say when it is really cold you can definitely feel the warmth but it feels more targeted to one area. It’s more like my neck area is warm but the rest of my body still feels cold.
The cooling feature works great now the hotter it is the less you feel that it is cooling but I realized I could tolerate the heat more rather than feel like it’s cooling me off.
The battery life is excellent and very quick to charge, overall the feel and function of it is too notch.
The app makes it easy to change setting quickly and gives you a good visual of what setting your at.
This is perfect for going to theme parks or traveling or if you work in a wharehouse or outside in the heat. A great device to help keep you cool.

Amazing sound and Clarity

If looks for speakers accounted for how they sound these speakers would get a perfect score but lucky for us the audio from these is pretty close to that.
These bookshelf speakers pack a punch despite their size they definitely give other companies tower speakers a run for their money.
I started off using these as rear speakers for my system and they were amazing they added some much depth and detail to the movies I was watching but I really wanted to test them out. I moved to the front and used them to test out some movie scenes and for music and was blown away these can hold their own and sound amazing.
Their was so much clarity and separation of sounds it was amazing how much detail I could pick up and their bass extension was pretty good.
If these were your mains for a theater system I would probably still recommend a subwoofer but they have enough bass that as a stereo system they would still be great.
I don’t that I could get the same performance from other speakers as I’m getting from these speakers.

Do you believe in magic?

Let me start off these are hefty boys coming in at about 76 pounds they were loads of fun to unpack. After getting them set up if was fun to test these out. Started off with some different music tracks and was instantly amazed with the separation of the instruments and the amount of bass the speakers had on their own.
While they are no means subwoofer replacements they definitely hold their own and for smaller places you could slip the sub and still have an incredibly enjoyable experience with music or movies.
The look of the speaker is absolutely amazing the craftsmanship on them is second to none and the fact they ship with a dust cover is a huge plus because they are glossy and can easily attract dust and fingerprints.
Watching movies with these was an experience unto itself, the detail and separation of sounds was incredible and you were able to hear all these details at low volume or even at high volume.
I cannot recommend these speakers more I’ve tried speakers from plenty of the other brands and these are by far the best I have tried.

Amazingly clear and fantastic sounding center

I wish you could give 10 stars because that is how much I would give this Martin Logan center channel.
I tend to typically be disappointed with center channels as they never seem to have enough oomph for the vocals. Most of the time I have turn up the volume on the center channel to get a good mix with all three front speakers. This was the first I did not have to do that. From the start I could easily and clearly hear all the dialogue from the movies I was watching.
My favorite part was that at low volume or even high volume the speaker was always clear and full sounding. At low volumes you could hear everything and at high volume I never got distortion or clipping.
This is truly an amazing sounding speaker, it is definitely pretty large and have a good amount of weight.
They are beautifully designed and have a very premium look and feel.
Everything I threw at the speaker sounded amazing I never once struggled understanding any dialogue and the presence it gives is pretty amazing it’s a pretty wide sound from this speaker and it really helps makes you feel like your in the middle of the movie you are watching. Great potential thrown away

I wanted to love this monitor, I needed something to use for my pc and consoles but also use for occasional tv or movie watching. And in some aspects the monitors is everything I hoped for but it also falls tremendously short on several other things and with a lot of competition from OLED at this range and size makes it harder to look pass those issues.
Let me start off with the good, lots of ports and inputs for use with several things I had no problem having my Xbox series x, PS5 and pc connected at the same time. It has Intelligent switching so whatever I turned on it switched to that input automatically.
The overall brightness and colors were very good hdr was pretty good had a decent pop. And black levels were good.
The speakers on it are surprisingly good and having apps right on the tv make it easy to stream without having to use something a system or pc.
Now to the issues let me start with this the UI is Terrible and incredibly slow. Sometimes it take forever for the menu to pop after hitting the button, it’s incredibly frustrating trying to adjust the picture settings there are several parts on the menu which take you to different areas of the picture to change. And if you just wanted the one menu to adjust everything you have to go to main setting and drill down from there.
Some settings don’t affect the picture in a way that seems normal to me. Local dimming setting is odd low seems to darken the image a bit normal brightens it and high seems to do nothing. Also the screen has a fuzzy gray layer over it unless you go in to contrast enhancer and activate that but then you lose a lot of detail in the blacks it’s frustrating. If you turn on game mode that is a whole new UI with a whole new set of settings.
Needless to say trying to calibrate this screen is a nightmare.
Using the monitor with the consoles was fine no issues for the most part. PC was where I had tons of issues turning on HDR caused weird fluctuations in the color changing back and forth.

Amazing Sounding Soundbar missing one thing

There are two things that keep this soundbar from getting five stars it was incredibly close and the sound is amazing, but before I get there let me start from the beginning.
The packaging for the soundbar is great using recycled materials is great. It is also very minimal which makes it less of a hassle to get rid of later on.
The soundbar is extremely nice looking and for everything it is packing inside is a very manageable size. It fit under my tv without me having to get a new stand or adjust anything and be able to use my tv remote.
Setup was a breeze I use a pair of Sennheiser headphones so I already had the app installed after a firmware update I had the soundbar up and running withing ten minutes. Now here is where the first issue to me comes up. The soundbar has no info bar so you have to rely on a led light strip on the top of the soundbar for you information on how loud you have it and even then it hard to judge from my couch. I was able to remedy this by connecting the soundbar to the ARC on my tv and using my tv remote to control the volume. My tv then was telling what the soundbar was at, I am lucky in my case as I know not every tv does this.
The soundbar is extremely nice looking and for everything it is packing inside is a very manageable size. It fit under my tv without me having to get a new stand or adjust anything and be able to use my tv remote.

After that I started testing it out with several movies and while not perfect the Dolby Atmos sound is pretty good for a soundbar. It definitely sounds like there are more speakers around the room, but since the soundbar does not come with a sub you feel like you are missing something. For most tv watching this is fine you don't really notice the lack of low end bass. But once you started watching movies you really miss it. The good thing is that you can use any subwoofer that would normally work on a home theater system you do not have to use the one Sennheiser sells. Once you get a subwoofer connected this is easily a five star sounding system. I can ultimately live without the info bar but not coming with a soundbar I feel like is a big miss in this range of soundbar.
would I recommend it yes but with the caveat of getting yourself a subwoofer to complete it the sound.

Amazing drone! The future in your hands

I feel like the tech in drones has advanced in leaps and bounds in such a short amount of time.
I still remember being in awe of some Star Wars drones my father bought a now defunct store that used to be in the mall.
It was amazing at the time to see those little drones fly, it was amazing but also terrible they couldn’t hover very well their range was so short and they were so loud it honestly wasn’t that enjoyable to use. Fast forward about 5 years and I have this DJI drone sitting in front me and my mind automatically thinks about how loud and slow to react those drones were.
I still remember being in awe of some Star Wars drones my father bought a now defunct store that used to be in the mall.
It was amazing at the time to see those little drones fly, it was amazing but also terrible they couldn’t hover very well their range was so short and they were so loud it honestly wasn’t that enjoyable to use. Fast forward about 5 years and I have this DJI drone sitting in front me and my mind automatically thinks about how loud and slow to react those drones were.
Now my first reaction on seeing the drones was it feels premium it feels solid and has an incredible design. The controller is amazing feeling and the screen looks great.
Once we got everything set up and took it on its maiden voyage I was floored the was of use the responsiveness of the drone and the image clarity was stunning. We took it around the neighborhood and was able to get some video of our house and backyard. Since then the drone has gone up several times and I even used it to film my jobs facility to send off to the bosses a better idea of the layout of our property.

This drone is amazing and so incredibly easy to use my wife is not great with new technology but was able to pick it up and control with relative ease.

Awesome! Starter PC

The old advice of stay away from pre-built computers is I believe slowly starting to become a false narrative. Is this iBuypower pc the ultimate gaming computer...no its not but it holds its own very well. Let me start off with the negatives, The Intel Arc gpu is interesting it works pretty well with modern games from the last couple of years but is very hit and miss with anything older. I am still able to run most games above 60fps as long at 1080p, going up to 1440 your not going to hit 60fps on some more demanding games, and forget about 4k for the most part that is not what this card is about. The CPU is pretty darn good and will last for a good amount of time. The ram is a bit on the slower side but at least you get a nvme drive with an ssd. In terms of upgradeability your biggest issue is going to be the power supply. at only 600 watts you do not have much room to improve your gpu so your going to want to change that out if you want to upgrade the GPU.
I will say this system performed a bit better than I expected and it is a great starting system to learn and upgrade over time.
The design of the case is very nice and the RGB is not too over the top. Cooling has not been an issue even while playing some modern games like Gotham Knights, Need for speed unbound, destiny 2.
Overall you wont have any trouble's playing modern games with this system and having upgradeability makes this a great purchase for someone looking to get into PCs.

No limits to what you can do

I just recently began to dig deeper into adobe photoshop and premiere with what you can do. In the past I have just used to simply color correct some photos or do just very basic editing.
But I told myself this time I would dig deeper and see what I can do.
I absolutely love the guided tutorials on photoshop they show you several cool features and walk you through how to do them. It lets you keep learning so you can work your way to that expert setting and you imagination go.
Premiere is a very intuitive software for editing. It has a low floor for you to start but a very high ceiling to learn how to do everything.
I have spent more time working on photos trying out all the. We features and just have dipped my toes in premiere but so far it is great and I highly recommend for anyone that does any creative work, heck I recommend it for people that just take personal photos and home movies what you can with them is truly amazing.
The only thing I recommend is a decent computer premiere especially uses a lot of memory and can slow down, but even trying on a mid range computer I was able to use it pretty well.

I am interested in the new LG UP970 4K Blu-ray player. the limited info out now indicates it has two HDMI ports out. one is 2.0 and the other is 1.4. my question has to do with the slower one. is this full spectrum, both audio and video?
The First Port Is For Video and Audio and the Second Port IS for Audio only as I understand. The Point of the feature is so you can connect your 4K tv to get all of the features and benefits of 4K UHD but if you have a receiver that cannot pass that through you can still send Audio to your receiver.

No LG on their website says the tentative date for the Update is 8/18/2017

Can google home speak or answer to foreign languages. Google now does speaks multi languages, but I don't know about google home can do this. I know Alexa can't speak foreign languages.
In the Options menu I only see option for the assistant language to be in english
