Entry Level Printer at Affordable Price

This printer has some good features and some bad features. Starting with the installation it is far below other printers in ease of setup. Part of this was due to the problem that my computer could not find the printer over wireless, even though the printer was right next to the computer. Finally, I had to go to the printer itself and use its controls to connect wirelessly. This caused another problem in that the printer’s physical interface is rather primitive and entering the WiFi password was cumbersome. Once connected next (at the printer), it asked if I wanted to update the firmware. I began the process when I was asked to enter the WiFi password at the printer again (or so I thought). I eventually found out it was not the WiFi password being requested, but instead a password that is on a label on the back of the printer. I found this out when I updated the firmware from the computer interface and the installation software at the computer told me it wanted the password from the back of the printer. Bottom line is that although this printer has a more affordable price, the printer controls should be updated and also the software in the printer should be updated as well.
Now on the good side. This is a well-made printer that does print well and is very sturdy. It does not print very vibrantly but its printing is satisfactory. The printed documentation to setup the printer was clear enough to get things installed not withstanding my comments above.
I would recommend this printer as an entry level unit at a very nice price considering the printing features it provides like fax, scanning and document feeder. You also get some nice utilities via the ‘Brother Creative’ application which is included.

Great Laptop Specs and Design

The GIGABYTE G5 MD 15.6" FHD IPS Gaming Laptop is a superior laptop at its price point. The quality is excellent and the specifications are quite a bit higher than expected for such an affordable unit. It is a nice entry level gaming laptop by virtue of its NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050Ti GPU and its mighty 11th gen intel core i5-11400h processor which boasts 6 cores and 12 threads. It also has a vibrant display with Thin Bezel FHD 1920x1080 IPS-level Anti-glare Display LCD and a 144Hz Refresh Rate. I found it excellent for games such as Forza Motorsports and Forge of Empires.
The unit only comes with 8GB RAM, however this unit is very easy to upgrade since the bottom can be removed via 12 screws so that you can upgrade the RAM to as much as 64 GB. The battery is also removeable just by popping it off of the bottom of the unit (no dis-assembly required). I like the removeable battery feature so that I can have a backup battery handy if I want to continue use without recharging or connecting the power brick.
The keyboard has a solid feel and has various color lights for backlighting the keyboard. It has 4 USB ports which includes a USB-C -great (most laptops don’t have as many USB ports lately). The keyboard also has the accounting keypad array on the right side – also a nice touch. It has an HDMI out port, Mini-Display port, ethernet jack, audio/mic and SD card reader. Touchpad was very smooth. Lots of ports installed in a very nice design. The power comes in the back of the unit which is so much better than the side power ports. The wireless is the latest using Intel AX201, and you get Bluetooth: V5.2.
It has 512 GB SSD which is installed as M.2 2280 Nvme Internal SSD card (the latest form factor for SSDs). There is space under the covers for another Nvme Internal SSD as well as an open slot for the more common 2.5 inch internal SSD card. Very nice storage expansion indeed.
I would recommend downloading the 10 page more detailed manual (https://www.gigabyte.com/Laptop/G5--Intel-11th-Gen/support#support-manual); which includes a guide for backing up the installed recovery image to a 32 GB USB thumb drive. This guide will also help you to understand the installed ‘Control Center App’ which allows you to change to 4 different power modes. Also this guide will help you to set up keyboard back lighting options, Flexikey capability, Keyboard macros and fan speed controls – very nice options that can easily be setup.
I highly recommend this beautiful laptop for gaming, entertainment and regular work functions.

Excellent Features and Quality at Affordable Price

The Yaber – Pro U10 LCD Projector is a very capable unit with some very strong specifications for its price point. Other more expensive projectors will have capabilities that are stronger in some areas such as contrast ratio, height adjustment feet, better speakers and double the warranty timeframe et al. The Yaber does have equality with the more expensive projectors in terms of its full HD 1080p specification. If you are going to be a heavier user of this device, the ‘light source’ life may be important to you. In this area the Yader has 4 times the ‘life source’ hours of much more expensive projectors – so that is great. This projector has brackets for feet which also allow mounting to a ceiling if you want that type of installation.
I tried the unit with HDMI and it worked nicely with my laptop. I also used the Miracast option to mirror my Android cell phone and it worked flawlessly – also supports iPhone’s IOS. Tried the projector from 4 feet and 7 feet and it operated really well. Crisp colors and easy to focus with the focus adjustment knob. The speakers are adequate and it is a benefit to have onboard speakers. Tried a USB disk with music and noticed MP3 plays but MA4 (Windows format) was not recognized by the projector’s software. The Bluetooth is upgraded to bi-directional Bluetooth which is a newer feature that allows a user to listen to audio files for example by using Bluetooth headphones and to use their digital audio player as a Bluetooth enabled peripheral; that way you can stream music from a computer or a smartphone. I did test the use of an external Bluetooth speaker and worked very well and provided better sound than the onboard speakers.
This unit comes with a handy remote control or you can use the controls on top of the unit. An excellent user guide is supplied. You’ll find it convenient for exploring all the features such as DVD player connection and Bluetooth functions. The unit is supplied with an HDMI cable, power cable and composite video cable (3.5 mm jack to 3 RCA jacks).
I did notice that support is provided via an email to aftersales@yabertech.com. Also in the manual it is mentioned that if you have some problems like dust on the lens, they will send you a video to correct the problem – a small kit to facilitate cleaning is included. All in all I found this to be a well designed projector with excellent features at an affordable price and very well constructed. I would highly recommend it.

Easy to Install, Solid Build Quality

This camera is small i.e. 2x2x2 inch cube. It utilizes a magnetic plate for mounting, or you can hang the camera on a screw. It is an indoor or outdoor camera and does have color night vision which is a nice spec for this lower priced security camera. I tested the night vision and it looks pretty good although not as clear as daytime vision.
The installation is very simple, just follow the steps in the Kangaroo Security app. You will have to create an account before you can actually install the device. I found the instructions very well written and succinct.
You can store data locally on an SD card which is not provided, or you can pay for cloud storage. The documentation has a conflict in that at one point it says the ‘Basic Level’ comes with 24 hours of cloud storage. Read further and it says cloud storage is only available for a monthly or yearly fee. When I checked the app for cloud storage, I did find my videos, so it does seem the 24 hours of cloud storage is indeed provided. Some features are not available unless you do pay for a subscription. A few of these are two-way communication, person detection and an option for the system to contact police when you fail to dismiss motion alerts.
The power is supplied via a 5 volt USB connector that does have a very nice waterproof connector system. The data is over WiFi, utilizing a 2.4 GHz bandwidth. Since 2.4 GHz has a longer distance than 5 GHz, this is a smart design point. When I first installed the device I set my cell phone to a 2.4 GHz connection. After installation I noticed it doesn’t matter if the cell phone is on a 2.4 or a 5 GHz connection.
This unit could become part of a more extensive Kangaroo home security system if you opted for additional devices such as doorbell cameras, etc.
The app does include (for me an annoying option) an icon to contact Progressive Insurance to get insurance quotes – not sure this is should be a feature of the Kangaroo camera options.
I did notice the built-in siren works very well and there is an option to set a choice of a warning command - but this would require a paid subscription.
All in all for the price point, this is a very nice camera with some fine specifications. It is very smple to install. I can recommend it.

Versatile and Great Sound

This is a very nice Bluetooth speaker in terms of solid construction and the ease of Bluetooth pairing with your cell phone, TV or PC. It has all the best features for dustproof, waterproof and shockproof design.
Bass reproduction is very strong although the overall volume capability was lower on my non-Sony brand TV. However from the PC or cell phone - the volume was louder. Also on my Sony brand TV the volume could be set very loud. On the non-Sony brand TV there was also a pop-up from the TV every time I turned the system on to ask if I wanted the Bluetooth speaker. On the Sony TV on every power on the Bluetooth Sony speaker just connected automatically. This could be important to know if you are interested in using this speaker for enhanced TV audio.
On the very positive side, any TV I used had far better sound using this small Bluetooth speaker than the internal speakers. This I believe is at least partly due to Sony's ‘Line-Shape Diffuser’ technology that distributes the sound energy evenly – I have to say this did work nicely.
I did find that if needed, the claim of 70 minutes playback with only 10 minutes charge time was indeed true.
Be aware that even though the Bluetooth blue LED is blinking, the speaker does not attempt to pair unless you tap the Bluetooth button on the speaker.
Of course a fantastic option is connecting this Bluetooth speaker to your cell phone. Download the Sony Music Center app and you will have added facilities for shaping the sound. You can also enable the microphone on this device and use it with Alexa or Google to ask the time or other commands.
Great product and I highly recommend it.

Super Technology and Easy to Use

This microwave has a very clean design. I like the well thought out controls. It is a little different to use than most microwaves but ultimately is very simple and logical – tip of the cap to the Panasonic engineers. It is loaded with the latest technology in terms of sensor cooking by time or by weight. You can even set the microwave to keep food warm for a specified time – never had that option before and it is useful. It is a good idea to read the manual for all the operational procedures which I think will certainly make anyone delighted with the capabilities of this microwave. This microwave is a full 1200 watts which is unlike some of the under powered units. It has a beautiful stainless steel finish. It is in the medium size range at 1.4 cubic feet. The interior is a very nice non-stick surface.
A feature I never had before is the ability to link this microwave to Alexa. I have an Echo Dot and it is simple to add this device to the Alexa app on your phone. I have to admit that I now always use Alexa to command the microwave. You can just say “Alexa microwave for 2 minutes and ten seconds” or even “Alexa microwave power 5 for 47 seconds”. Like magic the microwave will start. Of course you can tell Alexa to stop the microwave at any time. The manufacturer provides a very nice and comprehensive manual, not just a start up guide. Also included is a card that lists lots of command suggestions that you can use with Alexa – I’ve referred to that several times and I keep it near the unit. You can control the microwave easily from the panel if you don’t want to use Alexa.
One odd thing is that the time of day display goes blank intentionally after a short period of time. There is a blurb in the manual about …’this is done to save energy’. I did not find a way to just keep the time of day on the display. It will return if you open the microwave door or press any of the controls. I would rather keep the time of day displayed – I don’t think it uses much energy, so the engineers goofed on this design point.
A very important design point is that this microwave uses inverter technology. This means the power is constant. This technology has proven to cook or defrost without removing some of the flavor. This is somewhat objective but it is logical that the inverter technology heats more evenly and smoothly. You might recall that when you defrost, you will hear the microwave turn off and on. So in the defrost process you achieve say 50% cooking power. But this really means it delivers 100% and then turns off an equal amount of time to effectively deliver only 50% power. When you defrost with this microwave or use 20% or 50% power or whatever; the microwave delivers the power constantly at the reduced power… there is no on and off cycling. What I can see in the industry is this is the top method and will turn out better tasting meals.
You can use the auto sensing that is built into the unit to cook or simply use the well thought out controls. All the operations are explained really well in the manual. I highly recommend this microwave for its capabilities including the ability to just tell Alexa to handle the settings – turns out Alexa is a wonderful option that I use all the time now.

Style and High Tech Function

The design of this thermostat is just gorgeous to look at and a wonder of functionality. You need to remove your old thermostat but take a photo of the wiring before you disconnect the wires. Then just download the Sensi app for your cell phone and it will guide you through the installation which is very easy to understand and perform. You will have to connect it wirelessly via 2.4 GHz as it does not support 5 GHz.
The programming of a temperature schedule is the easiest I have ever seen. You also have some additional settings for example to control how wide the temperature range can be for the on/off cycles.
The device also collects usage data so you can analyze and make adjustments to use your HVAC system more efficiency. Also data is provided on filter replacement and other information. Nice to have these features which you can review via your cell phone.
I did have a minor problem and can verify that the Sensi support is both fast and the technicians are very knowledgeable - turned out the problem was my HVAC system not the Sensi. Tip of the cap to the Sensi support team – outstanding.
I really nice feature is the ability to connect remotely for example from a restaurant to verify temperature settings and change the temperature and other controls. Wow, this connectivity is nice to have built-in, no additional hub needed.
I would highly recommend this superb unit.

Smooth Looks and Superior Technology

Extremely smooth and light weight mouse. This mouse has many customizable options. The tracking and acceleration spec’s are off the charts. The engineers sure did a great job in designing this mouse to fit your hand so nicely and to include so much super technology.
I did test the speed of charging and the claims are correct. Fast charging turnaround is very important for me. Also the mouse can be connected via a dongle, via Bluetooth or wired. All the cables and devices are included. A dongle extender is even included to facilitate use of the dongle – nice touch.
The magnetic attach feature of the charging cable is the first I have seen and is really solid.
It has very nice lighting options and you can sync things up using the Alienware Command Center. The mouse has seven programmable buttons. What a joy to use this mouse with its superior technology.

Superior Quality, Sound and Control

This particular headset is in a higher price range, but the quality is superb and the functionality is both outstanding and unique. This unit gives the user an option I have not had before which is to remove one of the earcups. Now you can use the same headset for superior noise cancelling headphones for music listening or you can use the unit for call center support when you want to keep one ear available for hearing sounds in the room.
The active noise cancelling is very effective at removing all background noise. I was amazed at this units ability to keep the sound crisp and not muffled while using the noise cancelling feature.
Very important is the comfort provided by the headset size adjustment and the earcup padding. I found that even with my glasses on for many hours, there was no pinching of my ears – great.
The controls for volume, cell phone calls and other functions are very simple. The BlueParrott button can even be programmed so you can utilize functions the way you want – tip of the cap to the BlueParrott engineers. You can also direct the headset via your voice – another tip of the cap to the engineers for putting this convenient, useful and safety option into their headset.

Newest Technology and Superb Printer

This printer was easy to setup with a very well written ‘Startup’ guide. All functions tested correctly when I ran it through its many options.
The ink tanks are very large. I was careful to follow the instruction closely so no ink spilled. I could see that the ink bottle and ink tank are designed to help ensure you don’t spill any ink i.e. it is a very smooth and easy operation to fill the tanks.
Color and grey reproduction was excellent – I could not see any difference between material that was copied and the original. Wireless connectivity was flawless.
Canon gives you an option to use their ink auto-supply process, which will save you money if you print a lot of material. However I didn’t choose that option.
There is an ink valve shutoff for when you move the printer a great distance, so don’t forget to use it. I had not seen this on other ink tank printers, but with ink tanks it is a valuable function.
Be aware that when you lift open the printer to put in more ink, the larger-lid stays in place. You need to first move it slightly higher and then it will let you close this larger-lid. Don’t confuse this when you are just opening thinner upper lid of the printer to reveal the scanning glass. This portion just moves up down without the additional upward pull.
The ‘Print Directly from USB Flash Drive’ function needs some updating. If you have a PDF type file it may not print because when using a USB flash drive, this printer will only print if the file was created from the Canon software or the operational panel of the printer i.e. scanned to the flash drive. Point is this severely limits the usefulness of this function.
Although you cannot fax with it, this printer does provide a lower cost ink option with the ink tanks and the four color ‘pigment-based’ ink system does provide very crisp and vibrant print outs. The very nice 2.7 inch adjustable LCD touchscreen is the newest technology for your interface to the machine. It also has a great 3-year limited warranty.
Printers are becoming much easier to configure and use, this printer is a great example of the newest technology – tip of the cap to the Canon engineers. All in all a super quality product that impressed me with its array of optional printing functions, scanning and copying (double or single sided output). I highly recommend this printer.

After buying this product, I am both pleased yet a little disappointed! I needed another player to replace my 5 year old Sony 3-D player (also bought at BB) because it was no longer compatible with YouTube. Since my TV is an LG, I decided to buy an LG player.
The LG BP550 is smaller than my older Sony (another reason I chose it) and has fewer apps but I really didn't care about that as long as YouTube worked and that it also had Netflix and HuluPlus apps. Hooking it up and installing it was quick and easy and completing the system update was also a breeze! Already on sale, I saw it was also available as an Open-Box item so I thought I could save even more buying it at that option...NOT!
Advertised as 'Open-Box Excellent Condition' I ordered it on May 13th and it arrived on the 15th - without the remote! Maybe I shouldn't have assumed that an item labeled as "Returned, used as display model in store, or opened due to packaging damage but remains in like-new condition" meant or means that all accessories, cables, manuals, remotes, etc. are included.
Fortunately, my TV remote was able to do some of the basic stuff for installing and some playback features but that's it. So I make a call to BB and learn that the 4-yr Protection Plan I paid for would not cover this missing remote and was then advised to call LG for a 'free' replacement.
Customer service at LG then directed me to call their authorized parts dealer for my time zone. Of course, they were closed on Saturday and Sunday!
I called the parts dealer today (18th) and was told to contact the retailer since I'd "recently purchased the item and it should be returnable/replaceable under warranty". I explained that I had been informed that it was not and that I was told to call them by both BB and LG!
Subsequently, I was given the part number and price for a replacement remote!
Well it looks as if buying Open-Box didn't save me much, if anything, after all since the replacement remote has to be paid for out of my pocket!
I may be better off returning this player and buying a NEW one instead!

However, I must say that I do like the player for what features I have been able to access while using my TV remote! I look forward to obtaining the full benefits and features when using the actual remote control for the BP550!

Remote Replacement

It's not ideal but if you are missing a remote and/or lose or break it, you can easily download a smartphone app to run it. You could also program a multi device remote like the Harmony 650 which I did. So nowadays a missing remote is not a show stopper but I agree it should have not been missing.

I purchased this with great excitement. I mostly do everyday things, with an evergrowing photo collection. I bought Adobe creative cloud and was ready to go. Fired it up and was shocked at how bad the text looks. I have tried many different settings. I don't know if it is a scaling thing? I love everything else about the unit. Photos look great. I dont game.
The text issue is varies. Some apps, it looks fine... others - terrible. Also, some apps don't scale well at all on the 4K screen.
May return the unit and get a laptop I can plug a second monitor in for my photo work.

Fix for fonts didn't install

The expert pointed to a download and it did not install. I'm glad since I think you just need to go to settings and find the 'cleartype text' setting and run through it to make fonts great. Also I see many of the apps will fix drivers and so forth so there is a learning curve now to see how to run these machines.

Tips For Better Text on AIO 700

I've played with the font's and you may also want to scale text or make it bold for example if you use Windows Live (you can do that within Display Settings). The other tip is that the text is very clear but small so you may find that enlarging text by hitting Ctrl and + (together) once or twice will make some things easier to read. You hit Ctrl and - together to reduce. I didn't use those commands as often on other machines, but it is beautiful to use at times on this machine. By the way videos are wonderful if you use something like Amazon Prime video etc WOW

Lenovo Fix for AIO 700 24ISH

Jason, I did think ClearType helped a little but the scaling and putting 'bold' on helped more. I did see the fix that Lenovo posted. First I flashed the BIOS which they also posted as of 9/10/15. However when I tried their special fix for the font scaling it is an .rar file and I had to load WinZip (free version for now) but it did unpack it. However I never saw it run successfully as it always returned an error code. I am going to call Lenovo on that but the text looks pretty good so maybe it actually ran. I'll post an update on that. By the way the support at Lenovo is abysmal.

It worked for a few hours right out of the box. Then I noticed the screen flashing and the graphics cards crashing. After a reset it freezes after 5 minutes of use. Not sure if it's the pc itself or driver issues with Windows 10, either way it's not worth the trouble. If they can fix these issues then it is absolutely worth the price.

Try Driver Updates & Flash BIOS

If you still have it and if it will stay up long enough, I'd say go to Lenovo's web site and download the newest BIOS, it's easy to update BIOS now. Then go into Device Manager and update both Display drivers. If you bought an open box, I'd also try to reload the whole machine to the factory settings (or BestBuy should do that for you). But if you go to the apps, the app called Lenovo Rescue System will do it for you pretty easily. Then do the stuff I mentioned above.

Checked on Font Scaling Fix

I couldn't get the download from Lenovo's website to install. I downloaded and unpacked the fix, but it returned an error code when I ran it. I spent 40 minutes with Lenovo 1st and 2nd level support. They pretty much had no info on this fix. They didn't open a problem ticket 8005969635. Also their website said you should post a request online to have them call you back, but their process was broken in that area also. Full disclosure: even without this fix, the screen looks awesome to me.

Successful Adjustments for FONTS

Lots of people had problems with the fonts on this 4K hi-def screen. Lenovo support was useless but Geek Squad fixed me right up via remote connection. It might be something others know, but judging by the reviews most people including me just didn't really understand. There are lots of modifications to DISPLAY parameters but what most people should do if they are using this screen for apps like Windows Live is to change the screen resolution to 1920x1080 and change the scaling to 125%. Now everything is beautiful. If you do want to watch a movie in high def, then put it back to 3840x2160 and set scaling to 200%. What is confusing is that there is a choice for 2560x1600 but this is not the same ratio as the screen size so you get bars on each side which you probably don't want - I should have seen this but the Geek Squad enlightened me. Now as to the patch from Lenovo for font scaling, you probably don't need it nor would it do much I am sure. So kudos to the Geek Squad and thanks. It is an awesome machine and in fact even the lower resolution is more than any other PC I have ever had.

JasoninNJ, thanks for posting your comment that installing the Lenovo patch to help font scaling toasted the machine. I won't try again to install it. As I mentioned I don't think it is needed. There will be more ultra HD computer screens and I'm guessing they will add automated switching to show videos in HD but do the rest of your PC work with the lower resolution which is excellent when viewing text.

Text Display Improvement

After playing with various settings I have some hopefully helpful feedback. First of all don't use the 3840x2160 unless you are streaming video, it makes text bad. Also don't use 2560x1600 since it is not a multiple of the 3840x2160 i.e. you'll get bars on both sides of the screen. Do use the 1920x1080 which is also hi-def and fits this screen dimensions properly. Now if you want text a little bigger then go to 'set custom scaling level' and use 110% or 115%; this makes nice readable text. Now here's a quirk I see lots of people having and not just on this PC or brand for Windows 10. You may see occasional video card errors and once in a while the machine may not IPL (just power off and try again it will come up). I think the problem is the video card doesn't get back fast enough to the CPU, and the video card crashes but does recover. Not a problem unless you are playing PC high powered games. So I don't recommend this machine for games, but video streaming and apps like Corel Photoshop are great. Now what you can do to minimize or eliminate the video card crashes (remember it happens on lots of machines with Windows 10, so there will be a fix soon I think). Anyway go to Control Panel and search for 'visual effects', then click on adjust the appearance and performance of Windows. Then select 'Custom' and click the box next to 'smooth edges of screen fonts'. If you optimize for 'best appearance' entirely or for let 'windows choose'... that's when the video card may not keep up I think. If you optimize for 'best'performance' the text looks horrible. Anyway the 'custom' settings work for me to give me nice text and no crashes. This is a stretch but I think the engineers knew there could be a problem, that's why they tried to put in the super high powered video cards, but not good enough for now, I do think this will get fixed by Windows 10 OS soon. This machine for it's price is tremendous and I think worth this minor glitch.

Good News to Add

I wanted to update my review to indicate that a frequent display driver error that said "...Intel Video adapter stopped working but recovered...", has stopped occurring after about 1 week ago when a pretty big Windows 10 update came out. It was never a killer for me since I don't play games but when I googled it, I did see that it was fairly common on many PC's - that's good since it appears Microsoft fixed it. Note there are two video adapters in this machine but the Nvidia one was not failing.

Does this set(QC45) need an adapter to connect with the TV screen on airplanes? Is it included? I saw an adapter when I looked at the QC35II, will it work with this model?
I think you mean the normal 3.5mm jack/cable which you use when Bluetooth wireless is not available. Yes this cable is included with the QC45 as well as the QC35II.

Which software does the M500s use to customize the buttons? Conflicting information shows Logitech SetPoint if you look under their website, but guidance only goes up to windows 8. Package says Logitech Options but this isn’t On the Options device list
The M500s uses the Logitech Options Software. It is on the site, you may have just missed it for some reason. When you go to Logitech.com/options, click on Support, then Downloads. Now click on downloads in the top menu (I know this seems screwy) but when you hit downloads on this page you will then click on Logitech Options again, then click to download it.
