sensors that actually seem to work
on January 20, 2021
Posted by: Alex
from Minnesota
I've had a few air purifiers that claim to have sensors that automatically change the speed based on air quality. Never seem to notice it.
First of, this is a large unit, but it can clean a very large area, so keep that in mind.
The set up is very easy. Unbox, take plastic off of the filters, plug in. You can also then set up the app and wifi so you can monitor and control it via your smart device. This was all easy to do and only took a few minutes.
Use: When running on its lowest speed, you can hardly hear it. Virtually silent. When running at max speed though, it is very loud. I've only had it run at max speed a few times.
Sensors: This unit will monitor the air quality, and run the fan speed based on what it needs. This works very well. I was cooking, and burned something just a little bit, and within a few minutes the purifier across the room started kicking up speed. The sensing seems to work very well, and you can even see on the app what the air quality exactly is, and what the particles in the air it senses.
Overall, this is a very nice purifier, but it is expensive. It does work very well though.

Nothing about your personal style is standard. So why should your appliances be? Created for those who want to reflect their true style in every room of their home, Café is distinct by design. Backed by showstopping features, every Café appliance gives you the form and the function you've been craving. Now that exceptional style is coming to your countertops thanks to elegant and efficient toasters, which feature the signature Café copper accents that truly elevate your experience. The innovative Express Finish setting creates delectable toast in about a minute, while additional operating functions such as Frozen, Bagel, Reheat and Cancel, all help you curate your ideal toasting experience. Even clean-up is a breeze thanks to the copper-plated catch tray which collects crumbs as they fall to the bottom of the toaster and prevents them from scattering across the counter.

beautiful toaster

Have you ever owned a toaster where you feel its worth taking a picture and sending it to people? Have they then replied saying "OMG I love that toaster!" Yea, me either. Until now.
This toaster is so well built, and looks amazing. The rose gold accents really pop, and make it seem even more like a high end designer piece than a toaster. I actually mean that.
Use: This toaster has a few options, for bagels, frozen food and how, well, toasted you want to toast things. There is a nice ring light around the settings which is a nice visual indicator for how dark the toast will be.
The unit works quickly, and even has an extra heat setting to quickly add some 'scortch' to something as it uses extra heating elements.
The crumb tray has a nice spring loaded pop out, and it is also the same rose gold color. Very nice touch.
The only thing I dislike about the toaster is the cord wrap on the bottom isn't designed very well, and isn't deep enough to actually hold the cord, so I don't use it at all.
Other than this, the toaster is awesome.

works well, easy to use

This is a very minimal product, but it does what it does very well!
In a way, this is a super fancy vacuum freezer bag machine, but it does it very well. I have been using the roll of "bags" that comes with it, and I think I would prefer this than the pre-made bags that you can also buy.
Whats in the box: The machine it self, quick start guide, roll of "bags" and a tube for connecting to other vacuum storage containers.
Use: Very easy. The unit unlatches and opens up where it stores the roll to make bags with a handy integrated cutter. The top has buttons to seal the bag, vacuum the bag, and attach the hose if you want to vacuum another container.
You start making a bag by unrolling however much you need and using the cutter to cut it off. You then place one end in the machine and press the seal button to make one end of the bag. You then put whatever you are cooking or storing in the bag, flip it over and hit the vacuum and seal button. It then sucks out all the air and seals the bag. Easy peasy. There are two options for vacuum, "wet" and "dry", for meats or rice type food. The bags are very strong, and have held up to cooking in the sous vide for hours.
Like I said, this is a basic machine, but it does what it does VERY well and has made cooking with the sous vide much easier.

powerful, quiet and good looking

This is a great cordless stick vacuum, and I highly recommend it.
Whats in the box: The vacuum, two motorized brush attachments, and two other attachments for getting into tight spaces and a wall mount.
Use: The vacuum is very easy to put together, and if you choose to mount it on the wall, that is also very easy to do. Otherwise the wall mount can be used as a desk charger as well, and you simply take the battery off of the vacuum and charge it on the desk. The dust bin is easy to empty, as it simply pulls off and you can empty it into a garbage. I really like that it pulls off, rather than just the bottom opening, as it makes it much easier to get hair out of it, rather than getting caught in the middle like other brands. There are three adjustable suction powers, and you simply use a + or - button to adjust it. This is useful for vacuuming blankets or other looser items, so you don't suck it up and jam the brush.
The battery lasts a good amount of time, and the unit is quiet while even on the highest setting. It is light enough to not be a bother to use, and the dust bin holds a nice amount of dirt and hair.

overall, very good super automatic
on October 23, 2020
Posted by: Alex
from Minnesota
These super automatics are only for people that really know what they are getting, and are coffee snobs on a time crunch.
This is a very fully featured super automatic that can brew many types of espresso related drinks, including milk drinks.
You can brew espresso shots, long shots, ristretto shots and much much more. Each brew is very customizable, and there is a drink menu where you can kind of "invent" your own drink if you wish. You can adjust brew strength and how much water goes into each drink.
Milk related drinks are easy to make, and the included milk attachment makes it very easy. You simply fill up the container and attach it to the front of the machine. You spin a nob to adjust how much foam vs liquid milk you want, and there is as clean option as well. This does a very good job cleaning itself, and requires MUCH less manual input from yourself to clean the milk items. Other super automatics that I have had required much more work to clean the milk parts, to the point where I don't use them.
The water tank is easy to fill and holds a nice amount of water. I like that you pull the water container straight forward to fill, vs other machines where it is on the back.
Ease of use: Very easy to use and clean. Coffee beans are easy to load in the hopper (which is quite large) and there is a spot for on off ground coffee to add for decaf or a flavor if you wish. There are buttons on the front for common drinks (I WISH these were programmable though, my most often brewed drink "coffee" isn't a button, but its in the drink menu). The spout that the coffee comes out of is height adjustable, but the hot water spout is not. The grounds container is easy to pull out and dump. The drip tray is all part of it and is easy to rise/wash as needed.
My favorite milk drink to brew is a flat white, and this machine does as great job with it. The drink is hot enough to drink, not too hot but not cool either.
I would give this machine 5 stars if the front buttons were programmable, as I almost never use any of them. I end up having to push drink menu, then scroll to the drink I want. Not a big deal, but if I could use a one push button that would be even better. Especially considering I never use the buttons that are there already.
Overall: Taste is great, especially for a super automatic. The "coffee" drink isn't the best cup of coffee you'll have, but it is very good and is basically just a super long shot of espresso. So for what it is, the taste is very good. The Creme on the shots that come out is a nice color and consistency as well. All of this, combined with the ease of the milk container makes this a sure bet.

works as advertised

I was excited to try these compression boots, as I do a lot of stationary bike exercise with high resistance, and get sore muscles because of it.
Whats in the box: Carry case, the boots, quick start guide and a charging cable.
use: pretty easy. charge them up, strap them on, and press the power button. I will say though, the user guide was a little lackluster and I was a little confused on how exactly to use them. Once you figure it out, its easy. Hold the power button for a couple seconds to turn them on, and repeat to turn them off. There are 4 air chambers in each boot, and you can adjust the pressure for each of them individually. There are two modes: each chamber fills up separately and in order, holds for a bit, then deflates. The other mode fills them up at the same time, deflates and repeats.
Overall: while I do feel some relief, It is not life changing. Do not expect the feeling of a massage, it is just "on/off" pressure. There are no guides for how long to wear them, so that is on your own merit. 15 or so minutes seems ok, but I don't know if I should go longer or not.
In the end, they do provide some relief, but they are a little over priced for my liking. More documentation on use of them would be nice, as I was confused in the beginning.

best robot vacuum I've ever had
on September 10, 2020
Posted by: Alex
from Minnesota
Short version of this review: go buy this right now.
Ok, longer version:
What's in the box: quick start guide, vacuum, extra filter, mopping pads, brushes and vacuum bag. Charging station with built in auto empty feature.
Setup: very easy. Plug in the home station, set robot on it, download app and follow instructions. I was set up and ready to go in minutes (well, except waiting 6 hours for it to charge)
Use: You definitely want to use the app for this robot. You can press the button on the top of the vacuum to start a session, but you don't get many of the features. Within the app, you can start the first run, which will map out your floorpan (multiple floors are supported). The navigation and the way this vacuum mapped out my house was excellent, WAY better than any other robot I've had. Once you have the floorpan laid out, you and label rooms, set no go lines, schedule cleanings for the whole level or specific rooms and much much more. The app is very powerful and works very well.
Cleaning and navigation: simply put, its amazing! The combination of sensors and cameras makes this the smartest robot vacuum I've ever seen in motion. It does a very smart and methodical cleaning routine, and even boosts power when on carpet vs hard surface. Once its done, it goes home and self empties. Spectacular
Mopping: this is where the unit falls flat, and I'll probably never use the mop feature. I was confused on how to even use it, as the manuals don't explain it at all. I finally figured out that you fill the water bin (with water only, no cleaner) attach the pad, and start the robot on a hard surface NOT from the base (well, my base is on carpet so that could be why it messes up). Once I started it that way, it mopped my tile and avoided carpet just fine. It doesn't clean that much, mainly a "wet dusting" as its just a damp cloth.
Battery: Takes forever to charge, but it also lasts FOREVER! I've had many different brands and models of vacuums, and none of them can do my entire level on a single charge. This robot does my whole level, with extra battery remaining AND it does a great job vacuuming.
Overall: amazing vacuum, not so great mop, but I don't care that much about the mopping since the vacuum works so well.
Simply put: Ignore the fact that this can mop and buy the best robot vacuum out there.

This charger works well, feels very solid and well built, but is a little large. Fits in my backpack for travel but I'd prefer it to be a little smaller.
Comes with a lightning cable for my I devices, which is nice. Puts out good power through both USB ports. Would be 5 stars if it was slightly smaller

overall very good, not the best for working out

These are very nice headphones, out of the box they have a very nice impression.
Out of the box, they paired very easily with my phone, although they the battery was very low and died almost immediately. The charging case was also dead. A little unusual to have them shipped with basically no charge, but not the end of the world.
Build quality is great. The charging case feels nice and the buds themselves have a nice, high quality feel to them. They are very comfortable and the sound quality is just as good, or better, than other buds I have had.
They have features typical of high end ear buds, such as wearing detection that pauses your music if you take an ear bud out. This is great, however, it also causes problems. If I work out while wearing these, and start sweating, they start to fall out. If I reach to readjust them, it thinks I'm removing them and pauses the music. VERY annoying. I've already decided that I'll use these for walks or general use and not working out in them.
Overall: They are nice, but don't plan on working out very hard in them as they will start to fall out and pause the music. The UV cleaning case is nice, but possibly a type of gimmick, not too sure, but I wouldn't rely on it completely. If you are using these for general use that isn't a hard workout, they are great!

some annoying setup quirks, but great otherwise

Overall, this is a nice wireless keyboard that fits into the Apple environment. It matches my space grey MacBook Pro, and the keys feel nice. You also get apple keys such as command, and shortcuts for brightness volume, play/pause etc.
I love that this keyboard can work with 3 devices, without having to unpair it first. There are 3 keys that relate to its own device, so you can switch between a computer, iPad, another computer etc. Once set up it works very well. The function keys along the top are customizable, although I didn't find a need to do that, as the default settings is exactly what I like to use anyway, and matches the apple keyboards. If you want, though, you can change these to do almost whatever you want them to do.
The keys have a very nice feel to them while typing. I enjoy typing on this more than I do the MacBooks built in keyboard.
Setup: Here is where I had some annoyance, and why I rated it 4 stars. The manual wants you to pair it first, then install the software. This is where it got complicated. It took a few attempts to pair it, and after I did my Mac gave me a message saying "unknown device" and I had to tell it that it was a keyboard with the American type layout. I then downloaded and installed the software. The software then told me no keyboard was found and wanted me to pair one. But then the bluetooth settings said one was already pared. I ended up turning the keyboard off and on again, and closing/reopening the software, and it finally all synced up. I feel that if the software was downloaded first, then walked through the paring settings, It would have been much easier. The manual should probably be changed to reflect this.
Other than the annoying setup, I love the keyboard.

How do you switch out of Boost mode?

I had to use the vacuum in Boost mode that ran out of battery in 6 minutes and then I have to recharge for 3 and half hours. Is it possible to switch off the Boost mode?
in order to turn it on or off you have to do it while holding the trigger.

with one had, pull the trigger to turn the vacuum on, with your other hand press the "max" button on the back, the unit will switch back and forth. There is a blue ring lit up around the max button when max mode is on.
