Not a true wireless printer

This printer has no way of allowing you to enter the wireless network.
The automated process did not work on windows or android. USB worked fine. Honestly, the Android app is terrible. I am sending this back for a printer that actually allows you to enter the wireless network so if this automated stuff doesnt work than you are still in business.

Best budget 4k money can buy

The Android interface and built in Google cast are fantastic. No need to buy a streaming box or Chromecast because this TV has BOTH.
The picture is really great. I have watched some Netflix and Amazon contentin 4k and cannot believe how detailed and bright the colors are.
The only thing I don't like about the TV is the remote but the voice search button more than makes up for it.

Last years chipset

I bought this TV and unfortunately returned. The Android OS and picture quality was phenomenal. The Operating system is hands down better than any smart TV on the market. You get full google play store and built in chromecast support. Voice search even smokes Apple TV/Fire TV. The possibilities are endless for a TV while still being super user friendly. Now for picture quality the colors absolutely pop like no other TV I have seen before. Only small complaint I would have about the picture quality is the blacks could be better in a dim lit room.
What wasn't good is the fact that Sony decided to use last years chipset /processing so the X850D (and the X930D) is still very slow to navigate. I have an Nvidia Shield Android TV and the interface is so smooth the Sony Bravia Android TV felt like a downgrade. Also, I could not believe Sony shipped this TV on Android 5.1 when 6.0 is out and we are approaching 7.0 already this summer.
I think this TV is still a great buy its just doesn't warrant the expense over last years model due to Sony using the same internals. I will see what they bring out next year and hopefully wont be disappointed by them using cheap processing and outdated OS.

Best Smart TV Available

The Android TV Operating system is so good it puts this tv far above competing sets from Samsung and LG.
First off the interface is great and you get a huge selection of apps from the Google PlayStore. The voice recognition is also phenomenal. Also if you don't want to stream apps on the tv you can stream them from your phone since it has built in chromecast!
Oh and the picture is fantastic too ;)

Best picture quality and smart TV operating system

Just want to comment about some of the reviews giving this TV a bad review because of missing Netflix... People, you buy a TV to keep it for 5 - 7 years. Why are you saying a TV is terrible because its missing an app that will be out any day on your JUST RELEASED TV with the BRAND New Android OS.
The funniest part about these complaints is this TV has built in Chromecast support so while you are waiting a couple more days for the TV Netflix app just CAST IT FROM YOUR SMARTPHONE!
This TV is awesome and all the major apps are on their way. One of the only TVs with built in Chromecast and a full operating system! It is better than any smart TV out there. Samsung included.

Spectacular Picture...Confusing Setup
By BackToSony
Third time was the charm in getting through the confusing and troublesome initial setup, where the TV twice identified my home network but failed during connection and setup of 'AndroidTV' (yuck!). Once connected and set up, however, I have nothing but raves for the picture quality, especially the few times we've been able to watch streaming shows in 4K. But the built-in upscaling works on regular 1080i versions as well. I don’t use the AndroidTV apps...4th gen AppleTV with Netflix, Hulu Plus, etc., is our preference. Coming from plasma (granted, a six year old, lower end Samsung) I had concerns about the blacks and interior lighting affecting the picture. This has not been an issue. The display, which I have found no reason to adjust as I have always done before, is of the quality I remember from my previous Sony Trinitron tube TVs. In fact, even the supposedly 'inferior' 60Hz refresh rate has been a non-issue when it comes to live sports. Glad we opted to ignore the Samsung...this Sony 4K with HDR is far superior in every way at this size range.

Android TV is literally the same thing as Apple TV but with better voice search than Siri. The performance is a little clunky on th Sony but thats the hardware and not Android TV.
Save some money and sell the Apple TV HD you no longer need it.

Bought 4 of these and also have Amazon Echo
By soundneedle
I didn't buy this device for what it might do a year from now---bought it for what it does TODAY. So tired of these tech companies releasing projects for us to buy. Was hoping Google would do it right for once (much like the Pixel phone). However, unlike all the (paid?) bloggers who are foaming at the mouth with praise, I'm not too happy with Home.
The voice recognition is very inadequate compared to Echo. I have to really speak up if I'm 10ft away. Echo picks up much further. Maybe that's due to Home's measly 2 microphones compared to Echo's vast 7-array 360 microphone. The speaker sound quality sound more full than the Echo, which is nice. It's half the size of Echo, which is also nice. I don't know how to play music on xxx Home or the other Home or all Homes. The connection to my Hue fails...and no idea what to do about it since Google and Philips have no working suggestions.
My place has all the gadgets---Philips Hue, SmartThings, Sonos, etc. I also use IFTTT. I know this stuff. Home's capabilities are extremely limited today---you're basically buying a project that Google will hopefully not get bored of and throw into the backroom like so do with so much of their "product". They should take some lessons from Apple on how to be a hardware company if they really are serious about Home and Pixel.
My advice. Stick with Echo, and wait several months to see if Home becomes another OnHub type project for Google. I'm really hoping the company is genuinely trying to change its ways with Home (and Pixel). We'll see.

Not impressed yet
By Unclsu
I'm comparing this with my former Amazon echo. Things I do like are Google's search engine a lot better than Amazon's. Things I do not like are Google's microphone response which is very weak. Sometimes you have to yell over the music really loud to get it to hear you. A lot of times and never hears you and you have to repeat yourself over and over.
The speakers sound quality, which I have tested many Bluetooth speakers, is average or weak. I would not buy several of these speakers and put them around the house and expect good quality sound.
I will give it a few more days and then return it if things are not improved and get the Amazon echo.for my Bose system.

Do remember Amazon's voice dictation is much worse than google's. Amazon is years behind google in learning people and understanding them.

"Sign-in required"Wi-Fi is not supported
By sfdfefef
The biggest drawback is that Google Home cannot be connected to a "sign-in required"Wi-Fi network. For example, if your apartment has a public Wi-Fi which requires sign-in, then it means Google Home cannot be used. So I assume Google Home cannot be used in many locations, such as an airport, university or other areas that only have public Wi-Fi. I live in university apartment where only public Wi-Fi (sign in required) is provided, but Google Home cannot be connected there. Amazon Echo and Tap has no problem at all.

Seriously? Think about what you are complaining about. Google is not allowing you to say private information over a public wifi network for google reason.

Pretty much every comparison on the internet shows the Google Assistant beating Alexa and Siri by a pretty wide margin.

More Hype than Advertised
By Steve
I received as a gift and the giver was more excited that I was or am. It does some things and answers some questions but does have problems recognizing questions and requests. Need other accounts to support music like Spotify. Does have a very good sound and unbelievable bass for a unit that size. Entertaining, but not to the way it is hyped up and not all the time. Was a pain to set up with multiple people but that might have been with us and someone talking over another person. Probably still has capabilities we have not discovered yet and that is an issue. Maybe an instructional video to explain all of these would be nice. I would recommend, but I would not buy one for myself as I could think of other things to do for or with the money.

Great Mid Line 4K-DR 10 Display
By Khakimon from Florida
Superb colors at even a higher price range. Great contrast and great black levels for the price.
I owned the XBR49X800D. It was a great set but a little to small.
This is the XBR49X800D's newer big brother.
And it is actually a tad better.
Remote is better, sound is better, color is more vibrant, the Triluminous display is really nice. and light uniformity(a biggie to me) is better.
The only cons to me are the Android feature( a waste of money), the ads/ recommendations that come with this, the artificial limiting of the screen to 60hz, and the flimsy stand. Which is the same stand design as the 49" , so I knew that was coming.
Over a nice Display for the money.

Amazing picture quality but very poor processor speed for anything. When you are using an app and trying to put the volume up and down it doesn't react immediately it always lagging and freezing . It's stupid how they put this weak processor on this brilliant Tv. Buy the 120hz one if u have coupe hundred more dollars to spend . I am returning Thai for a faster model
