Nice compact charger w/great cable
on July 27, 2024
Posted by: 3Tcubed
I have so many USB devices that need charging. I'm frequently traveling and frequently need my devices charged as quickly as possible. And today more and more devices do not come with chargers (I'm disappointed by this). In addition many companies ship cables that just don't last. High quality cables have become more and more important, as more fast charging standards have come about. Fast chargers simply won't with some cheap cables and some cables that ship with products don't support the faster charging methods. The best cables have a braided cover, this protects the cable, prevents twisting and provides an improved connection at the collar's. The cable included with this charger may be as valuable as the charger itself. The cable is 6' long and rated at 60W, this is sufficient for many notebooks (Some require larger 65W to 100W, but these usually have their own power bricks, not just a USB charger).
With the advent of Power Delivery (PD) power supplies, the device, cable, charger and device all work together. The power supply actually negotiates to the device on the cable, first asking can I send you 5V @2A, if this is not responded to the power supply acts like an old style power supply and just sends 5V @1A. If it gets a response back more negations take place with increased amperage and voltage. Increasing the voltage is what allows devices to charge faster. A device that is already fully charged may tell the charger to deliver a 5V1A trickle charge, to prevent over charging. Generally speaking fast charging is only done until your device is 80-90% charged, then it slows down. Lithium Ion batteries last longer when they are not always charged to 100% (and never completely discharged). So behind the scenes there is a lot of communication going on between the device and the charger.
I have relied on special charging cables that can actually show me the process to better understand it. In the images Included I'm using a USB cable that identifies the charging method and charging voltage (somewhat hard to see). When charging an iPhone I could see the value go from 5 up to 20 one step at a time, and then bounce around between 18 and 20 until the phone was 80% charged,
when it dropped to 5 or less and stayed there. With my Android tablet it was similar, except the PD label was displayed.
I'm really happy with this charger, it clearly does what it is supposed to, and the included cable is excellent. The folding prongs make it a perfect travel charger.

Superb On-Ear Headphones for Rock
on July 15, 2024
Posted by: 3Tcubed
I have a Marshall Action 3 BT speaker and I absolutely love it.  When I found that they had new Headphones (Major V) with battery life of 100hrs, I couldn't wait to try them.  These headphones are 'on ear' (w/o noise cancelation) and weigh just 6.6oz (2-3oz less than my B*** and S*** over ear headphone [w/noise cancelation] both w/24h battery life).  They support Bluetooth LE Audio (w/BT 5.3) for improved sound quality and improved battery life. They also support Auracast which allows a BT stream to be sent to multiple devices simultaneously.  BT 5.3 and BT LE Audio have been hard to find in new devices.  The support of BT 5.3 includes AAC, SBC, and LC3 codec support.  The script M logo on the left earcup can be programmed to support multiple functions: activate Spotify Tap, toggle between the default EQ preset and a Custom EQ setting, launch your voice assistant, or do nothing. The gold stick-like controller on the right earcup is used for playback and calls: push it up/down to adjust the volume, or nudge it forward or backward to change tracks. This is a simple yet effective means to control the headphones.  The other new function these headphones have is they can be charged wirelessly.  The can also be wired with the included, detachable 3.5mm stereo cable (see photo).  The headphones are foldable and they include a short USB-C to USB-C charging cable (see photo).
The Marshalls bass is quite deep for on ear headphone. It's midrange, is very tight and smooth.  And its highs are airy and crisp. The Major V headphones deliver a sound very similar to my Action 3 BT speaker. These Marshalls headphones do a fairly good job of blocking out local noise, but not great, without noise cancelation this is to be expected.  Their app contains a 5 band equalizer; it is pretty good.  But for years I've used the 'Equalizer Pro' app on my iPhone. It provides a sophisticated graphic/parametric equalizer.  Using this I could dial in a tone curve that is more to my liking (one I am familiar with).
How do they sound... I started listening to Boston's first album. More than a Feeling, sounded very airy, the headphones appeared to bounce the highs sounds effortlessly, creating a superb soundstage. Quite pleasant. The bass was very tight, complementing the rich highs. The mid's were rich and the vocals were elegant.  As Boston's Foreplay switched to Long Time, and the rhythm picked up, the headphones sounded very sweet, excellent to listen to, excellent sound details.  The bass of Smokin was superb.  I had the sound level set to 6 of 10 and these headphones are loud.  The headphones have a very even tone across all ranges, just what I wanted.  I then listened to some DSOTM, Money sounded amazing, the bass was excellent as well as mids and highs that were awesome.  US And Them had an excellent presence, the nuances of the girls' voices bounced from side to side, and the subtle voices in Brain Damage and Eclipse were crisp and forward.  Then listened to Peter Gabriel's So with a wired connection.  I'd not listened to this album for quite some time. The Red Rain vocals had an eerie realism.  Sledgehammer's bass was superb and Don't Give up had a great balance.  The whole album reminded me what a great voice Peter had. The wired connection was slightly better than the BT, but it was very close.  Clearly BT 5.3 with BT LE Audio, has improved BT's quality.
All and all this is an excellent pair of headphones, the software they provide is so-so, but this is easily remedied.  I can't verify the 100 hr battery claim.  After listening for +3 hours the battery level went from a display level of 95 to 90.  The headphones' lighter weight is very nice.  The size of the headphones is highly adjustable.  Initially I thought they were a little tight, but after using them while moving around the house/outside they seemed fine and stayed in place.  Marshall has a winner here, unless you need noise cancelation (airplane travel) they perform above expectations.

A new favorite

I've had this new SCUF Nomad controller for almost a week. I've had a BB1 for some time and it's nice, but after using the Nomad they did more right. The twin sticks are in the same position on the Nomad controller and the XYAB buttons just below, much more natural. And every button on the Nomad can be remapped via SCUF profiles and per game customizations. The front contains the L & R sticks, Up, Down, Left and Right pad and the X,Y,A, & B buttons. The back has two buttons that can be programmed to be either Up, Down, Left or Right. The top has 4 trigger buttons L Trigger and bumper, and R Trigger and bumper. The buttons are silent but have a bit of tactile feedback. You can create and save 12 named custom profiles. The triggers and sticks can be set from aggressive to dynamic, to linear to exponential, this accelerates/decelerates the triggers/sticks responsiveness/speed.You can also set a dead zone so that the trigger must be depressed a certain percentage (very cool/flexible). This personalization of the controllers' feelings/actions is exceptional. And you can vary it by game and with different stored profiles so they can be automatically used across multiple games..You can also copy profiles from one to another, so you can create a base profile, and easily tweak specific buttons.
The SCUF controller also allows you to easily take screenshots and game clips to save to your Gallery to share with others. By double pressing the SCUF button you take a screenshot, and with a hold press you create a recording, which is saved to your iOS device and in the app Gallery.
There are many predefined Apple Arcade games to automatically open or you can add to your Arcade Games. The controller can also be configured as a PS remote controller and you can add/define PS games (I didn't try this). You can attach any stored profile to any game. The controller can be used with or without the case on your phone.an it can easily be moved to adjust for the camera bump. I tried it with my iPhone Max 15 and my wife's iPhone 15 Plus, with no issues, both with phone cases on. The controller has a removable rubber bumper to keep the phone from dropping down. The controller comes with a long braided USB-A to USB-C cable for charging. The controller connects to the phone via Bluetooth, set up was a breeze. After playing several games for hours, I did not notice any real lag in the responsiveness. Fully charged battery life is specked at 16hrs (much longer than I'll ever use in one sitting). The back of the controller is a textured rubber that is very comfortable in the hand. The all black controller is very attractive (I believe it also comes in white). The SCUF controller launcher app is free (no subscriptions), they do request you register.
After using this controller on several iOS games that I played on my phone, it kind of feels like you're cheating, you have so much more control and it's so much faster. Much more arcade like. My wife is a long-time PacMan/MsPacMan addict. She uses her phone but it does not have the arcade feel. I let her try this controller with PacMan256 and I almost didn't get it back (I could be wrong about that). This controller is a game changer for handheld gaming. It is easy to put the phone in and out to start/end play. It compresses to a compact size a little longer than an iPhone plus. The only thing I'd like better is a version that supports an iPad tablet (this might work with the mini). But my grandkids are big gamers on their iPad tablets, and if this expanded a little more (or a lot more) it would be excellent with an iPad too. But I'm most impressed with its size, responsiveness and functionality.

Nice full size mouse
on June 19, 2024
Posted by: 3Tcubed
I've never been a fan of touch pads. They've certainly improved, but they don't provide the same flexibility as a mouse. and for gaming purposes they just don't have the same feature set. I have to admit that all too often I find myself grabbing my travel mouse, which is too small for my hand size and it does not have the resolution of a decent full size mouse. In addition this mouse has a set of driverless setup controls. They allow you to move into configuration mode and change the led brightness settings, change the Led colors, change the led display mode (static, wave, heartbeat, breathing and blinking). You can also change the BT/RF poll rate from 125mHz-1000mHz. You can set the mouse off distance to either 1mm or 2mm. and change the butt debounce rate from 2ms, 5ms or 10ms. and using the button on the left side of the mouse you can change the DPI from 400,800,1200,1600 and 2200 DPI. The mouse is quite light, weighing only 54g (1.9oz). I used it with the Turtle Beach RF dongle and Bluetooth (both were very simple to set up). I found it hard to tell the difference (which is good) as I usually feel a touch more lag with BT. But not in this case. The USB charging cable is a nice long braided cable. The internal battery is 240mAh; it should last at least 40 hours when used in wireless 2.4 GHz mode and 120 hours in Bluetooth mode. Before use you should remove the blue protective plastic off the mouse's feet and center ring.
The mouse wheel can be used to scroll the browser display, and the side buttons can be used to page up/down in a browser. The USB charging cable can also be used to hardwire the mouse via USB to your computer. So if you're looking for a hardwired mouse this fits the bill. The mouse has a nice flat finish, leaving no fingerprints. The USB cable is about 6' long, with a USB C connector on the mouse end and a USB A on the computer/charger end. No charger is supplied and the USB connection is USB 2.0 (no big deal). In actual use it is very comfortable and highly accurate. If you are looking for a lightweight, responsive mouse this is an excellent mouse.

Reliability + Performance = Perfect
on June 14, 2024
Posted by: 3Tcubed
I've always considered Crucial as one of my go to memory providers.  Always reliable since DDR memory became a notebook standard.  When I buy a machine that is upgradable, I always buy the minimum memory configuration and then upgrade the memory to the max that can be installed (and this varies by manufacturer).  I recently acquired an Acer i9 Predator notebook with an Nvidia RTX 4080 GPU.  When I got it the fastest DDR5 memory available was 4800MHz.  This 32GB kit is 5600MHz.  I've configured the machine with Oracle's Virtual box, I plan on running SQL server on one VM and the second VM as a Visual Studio Development machine.  So reliability is my key concern.  Then performance, I expect to get both.
After removing 10 star screws, the bottom of the notebook was easily removed.  I removed the 2 DDR5 modules in the machine and added the two in this kit.  I turned the machine over, and powered it on.  I had to wait almost 2 minutes before the machine rebooted (I'll admit I was concerned, but recalled when changing ram sizes on this notebook, it does a full memory test (not displayed) before restarting.  And then a brief notification that 32Gb was detected in slot 1 and 3 (considering the machine only has 2 slots, this was interesting). Then I went back to Windows 11.  I then launched task manager (Ctl+Shift+Esc), selected memory and I could see 32GB installed, running at 5600MHz and hovering over slots used. A popup box is showing 16GB in slot 1 and 16GB in slot 3 running at 5600MHz.  Yea, all looks good, I start the 2 virtual machines and and let my test app run (exercises DB read/write/updates).  After an hour, with the CPU fan cranking up and down, I am convinced the system is stable.  Over 90K records in my DB added/updated. This was an excellent performance number, about 5% higher than I got before the upgrade to this faster 5600MHz memory.
My system seems reliable, it has no problem running either Google Chrome or MS Edge with numerous tabs open.  But it ran my rigorous test apps with no issues.  A nice upgrade, no issues. Excellent!

Almost perfect

The CX34 is the latest 14" Chromebook Plus Laptop, with an Intel i5 processor (1335U), 8GB DDR5 Memory and a 128GB SSD. From ASUS (CX3402), it comes in either – Pearl White or Black. I tested the 13th Generation (the latest intel CPU series). The SSD is based on the UFS interface (same fast memory as used in smartphones; low power, high speed; soldered to the motherboard. Likewise, the DDR5 memory is soldered to the motherboard, it appears to be dual channel (and it can't be upgraded). There is a M.2 interface which contains a removable AX211NGW network interface module. This supports 2.4G, 5G & 6G WiFi. With WiFi 7 being just down the road having the networking module independent, so it can be upgraded, is an advantage. This laptop has a 14" touch screen (FHD (1920 x 1080) 16:9) with an anti-glare display. It weighs 3.17lbs (1.44 kg). It is only 3/4" thick (and 12.85" x 8.44"). It has 2 USB A 3.2 Gen 1 ports and 2 USB 3.2 C Gen 1 ports both support display & power delivery. It also has a HDMI 1.4 port and a 3.5mm Audio port. It includes an array microphone that can be used with the built-in Google Assistant (voice-recognition support) and a 1080p FHD camera that has a privacy shutter. The trackpad is a huge 5.7" (diag), which is remarkably responsive. The screen has a 180 degree lay flat hinge.
Initial installation is and set up is very easy (especially if you already have a chrome account). All you need to do is select your WiFi network, supply its password, and you're off and running. The machine auto updates its firmware and OS on initial setup. You provide your Google Id/Pass and you're up and running with the full suite of Google tools. Google has defined a minimum set of specifications that a Chromebook Plus must meet. This includes having a full HD screen, fast modern memory, and modern CPU and multiple IO ports. The plus version is intended to provide fast performance. My biggest issue is that the USB IO ports are only USB 3.2 Gen 1 versus Gen 2, or supporting thunderbolt. This means instead of supporting data transfer at over 1024Mbp/s it only supports 400Mbp/s, and without Thunderbolt 3 compatibility high speed peripherals are crippled. I'd love to add an external 10Gbps USB C External Portable NVMe M.2 SSD drive, but it would be 20 times slower than it could with full USB 3.2 Gen 2/Thunderbolt support. Given the cost of this "highend" chromebook, this deficiency is regrettable.
I used it on my 1gb WiFi network with very snappy performance. The chiclet keyboard is very responsive, it has very nice key travel. The full HD web camera was a great pleasure to use with Zoom, the microphones picked up my voice very clearly and I was very happy with the quality of my image. I ran Google Chrome with over 10 tabs open and didn't notice any lag or issues with performance. Asus claims the battery life is up to 10hrs. I used it throughout the day as I would generally use my notebook, and found that I got just over 8 hrs of runtime before the 10% battery warning was delivered. I was running with the screen brightness at 90%. I hooked up a USB C expansion hub and encountered no issues. The multi screen functionality worked excellent. I found that Google Photos and its editing tool worked extremely excellent. The Android App store is available, I didn't spend much time exploring them, but presume that install and work as expected. Powering the laptop up and down is a joy, when turning it on (if a known network is available) you are up and running in under two seconds. Power down in under one second. Wow, and the screen is very nice to use, but it's not suitable to use outdoors (this did not surprise me). I do wish I could have increased the memory, but can't say I found a time when it was really necessary. I already keep 200gb on line with Google, I've been very happy with Google Drive and Google One over the years, I'll probably upgrade to their 2TB plan in the near future (10x the storage for 3x more per year). I've been working on getting my 60K of Photos better organized. These new AI tools within the Google Ecosystem will probably finally get that done (I love searching my photos using names, I just have to spend the time to "learn" google more of "my people". I've been testing Gen AI for several months and I'm really getting hooked on it. Chromebook Plus also enables enhanced AI features within Google Photos like 'Magic Eraser' and other enhanced editing features, like an HDR effect and the ability to add "portrait background blur" to your existing photos. I expect more AI features to be included in the future. Google said that they will be bringing the power of Google’s AI capabilities directly into ChromeOS 5, which will first be available to Chromebook Plus users (later in 2024). I'm quite happy with my new Chromebook Plus, and look forward to it getting better, just wished it supported high speed peripherals.

Almost perfect, missing one feature
on May 19, 2024
Posted by: 3Tcubed
I've wanted a larger format printer for some time. This printer has a 100 page "internal" paper tray that holds letter and A4 paper. It's rear feeder (100 page capacity) can hold many more sizes including: Letter, Legal, A4, A5, B5, 4”x6”, 5”x7”, 7”x10”, 8”x10”, 3.5”x3.5”, 5”x5”, envelopes, labels and custom sizes. The rear feeder does not support duplexing (double sided printing). Another "hidden" feature of this printer is that each of its ink tanks can be either the standard, XL, or XXL size (equating to approximately 250,500 or 800 pages per cartridge. It comes with standard size ink cartridges. Its scanner has 2 resolutions, 600x600 for the ADF and up to 1200x2400 for the flatbed scanner (this is as good as almost any standalone flatbed scanner you can find). The auto document feeder can be used for either scanning or copying, when scanning it can attach to an email, scan to PDF, save to PC, scan to the Canon PRINT app and Wireless Scanning back to your iOS/Android device. The printer has many connectivity options; Hi-Speed USB, Ethernet, PictBridge, Wi-Fi (802.11b/g/n/ac wireless networking, 2.4 GHz) and a memory card slot. Note: it does not support 5GHz WiFi (this is a disappointment for me -1 star); I have other older, far less expensive printers that support 5G WiFi. And it can print from almost any OS: Windows 7-11, MacOS X-14.5, Android, Chromebook and Amazon Alexa and from Mobile printing Solutions based on iOS & Android. The 4.3" touch color makes setup and use very easy, this includes previews of scans and thumbnails from SD cards. The printer is on the large size at: 18.5”x14.5"x7.6” and it weighs in at 21.3 lbs.
The printer includes a variety of software/drivers for both Windows and iOS: the Canon PRINT app, Easy-PhotoPrint Editor Software, a Scan Utility and some other utilities/tools. If you follow the setup instructions from the provided QR code it will walk you through the physical printer unboxing and set up, networking choices, printer configuration and software installation. Even without installing any software I was able to print to the printer from my iPhone, Android Tablet, Windows 11 Notebook and Apple iPad. (no software installed on any of these devices, and they could find and print to the newly installed printer - my how things have changed - for the better).
From windows I printed out a B/W document. The first page took about 12s each additional about 4s (close to their claimed 15ppm B/W printing). A color text document took 13s for the first page and 6s for each additional, if not double sided. When printing double sided there is about a 3s pause in between each duplexed page. I will probably scan five times more images than I ever print on this printer/scanner. The scan quality is very important to me. And I was not disappointed, the quality is superb. When scanning without their scanning software, I ran into it telling me that the image could not be aligned properly, skipping this it seemed to work fine. With their scanning software I didn't encounter this issue. You can scan multiple pictures/documents if each is separated by 1/16", this seems to work well with each image being saved to an individually named file. Scanning at 600x600 was fairly fast, at 1200x1200 it took its time and seemed like it was going back and forth, but the quality of the scan was exceptional. I used the copy function to duplicate a printed picture, it was so close to exact, I asked my wife if she could tell the difference, she promptly cheated and turned them over.
I need to add that the Canon online manual for this printer and associated software goes beyond comprehensive. It has information for beginners to the most experienced, with a layout that is easy to follow, and skip to what you're looking for. It is a great example of how online documentation should be done (and why you no longer get a "book" with your printer trying to explain its use). I printed out the "network" setup of the printer and it included information that required 3 pages, there are so many options on how you can use this printer. I love that I can print on 11x17 paper for some of my presentations, it might just change the way some get done. The quality of the B/W print is just as crisp as my 1200x1200 laser printer (but not nearly as fast 36ppm). All and all, it is a very impressive modern printer, checking almost all of the feature boxes. Why they omitted 5G support is puzzling, it is too bad. I also wish the internal print tray held more than 100 pages.

A really nice mesh watch band

My Apple watch is now almost 3 years old, and I'm now on it's 4th watch band.  First I hated the original silicone band that Apple ships by default.  I have the Apple deep davy blue watch.  The two other bands that I've had were blue mesh bands, that both looked more silver then blue as the blue color wore off.  So I decided that I'd start with silver this time, maybe it will stay that way.  First I have to complement Apple in making it easy to change bands, and allowing third party bands. It is so easy to hold the release button down and slide the band out. I can change the band in less than a minute.  The texture is so smooth.  One of my previous bands would snag my clothing (time to get rid of it).  This one does not seem like that could happen,  My other one started to develop some rust on it after the blue wore off.  I'm hoping the silver finish on this band doesn't wear off/down.  Also the design of this band with a loop on the bottom makes it more comfortable as there is more give on the bottom.  The magnet seems plenty strong, but still easy enough to take it off easily.  A word of warning, the magnet will be attracted to other metal objects.  I have a stainless steel table and a notebook computer that when the magnet gets close enough it will connect pretty securely.  This will surprise you when you attempt to move away.  The length of the band is plenty long, even if your wrist is much larger than mine.
This is a very well constructed band. it looks and feels great on your wrist. I'm hoping it will last for several years.  But it priced very reasonably compared to Apple's offerings.

Very Impressive for it's size

I've had a B*** soundbar and sub in my living room (not my main listening room) for almost 4 years. I got it when ATMOS was just starting to gain ground. Most movies were still being released with DTS:X vs Dolby ATMOS, but ATMOS was making headway. If you don't know much about these surround formats, they both fool the mind into believing it's hearing 3D sound. If you just listen to a "normal" broadcast TV it really does not matter, as you will only find these surround formats from movies (Blu-Ray and Blu-Ray 4K quality, as DVD quality does not support ATMOS or DTS:X). Or from 4K UHD, DTS is supported from HDX format. Both ATMOS and DTS require your television to support eARC (enhanced Audio Return Channel). Well ATMOS has now convinced most studios that it is the superior format. And from doing some A:B listening ATMOS clearly works better especially with only a sub and soundbar. With a full 5.1 or 7.2.x speaker setup (like in my main listening room) the two are quite similar. But with a soundbar that has upward firing drivers ATMOS is the clear winner. This is why I decided to "upgrade" to this Samsung HW-S800D. I tried to do in store comparisons, and found it nearly impossible to decide.
When I set up my new S800 I set it up with a HDMI switch so I could easily compare the two soundbar systems (both with a wireless sub (very simple to pair)). Both systems support WiFi and bluetooth for streaming, my B*** supports onscreen display the Samsung does not. The B*** supports Alexa voice control and AirPlay, this Samsung supports Alexa, Google and AirPlay; AirPlay is the only WiFi feature I've used in the last 4 years. Both also support Chromecast. The S800 is about 46" long and 1.5" tall and deep. It comes with all necessary mounting hardware if you want to mount it to the wall under your TV and a HDMI cable. The sub is about 9 1/2" in all directions. If you have a recent Samsung TV, it also supports Q-symphony which will utilize your TV's speakers with the soundbar. My (2019) Samsung TV did not support this, but if you have a 2020 or newer Samsung, this is a nice combination/feature. Samsung also sells matching wireless rear speakers (SWA9500S), so the system can become 7.1.4.
When I first compared my new S800D to my B***, I compared the voices on a baseball broadcast. The two soundbars were similar, the mid range of the Samsung sounded a bit louder, and a bit cleaner. The highs and bass were nearly identical. Now for the real test, the new Top Gun. I was anxious to hear/see and compare the carrier launch scenes, as well as passing mach 10 (and things not going so well). Cut to the chase, there was no comparison. Samsung's surround sound blew the B*** away. Not only louder but much more immersive, sound seeming to come from above and behind me and a pretty good tight base. You could feel the plane tearing apart as Maverick foolishly passed mach 10.2. It was not as deep as my 12" and 10" subs in my main listening room, but given the size and cost (my 12" sub alone costs twice what the S800 system costs). The music throughtout the movie was most excellent.
After the movie I quickly listened to Boston's first album via AirPlay. The highs were very airy and the mids were quite clear and rich. The bass was just acceptable, good but it didn't have the kick I really wanted to hear/feel. But, it had a good balance to it, all and all very well done. But I know what to listen for, and for its size the S800 more than pulls its own weight, color me impressed.

A nice stable scooter
on April 6, 2024

My GoTrax Flex (campus) arrived yesterday while I was vacationing in Sedona. I couldn't wait, so I drove back and forth to pick it up. I had it assembled in about an hour. It comes double boxed, and very well packed. Substantial packing material is in the box and it does a great job of protecting it. It comes with the tools to do the full assembly. The handlebar needs to be installed, but the handlebar stem folds up for more compact storage. The seat needs to be attached to a seat pole stem which has a hand lock to snap it into place. Other than that the only other assembly is attaching the rear basket. My scooter arrived with a nearly dead battery, A full charge took about 5 hours. The charging pack has a led on it that changes from red to green when the scooter is charged. It had gotten dark, so I didn't want to try riding until the next morning.
If you've been lucky enough to have been to Sedona, you know it's quite hilly. On the handle bar there is a key to start the scooter, and to turn the headlight on (off/on/on w/light). Once the scooter is on the battery gauge illuminates (Full, 3/4, 1/2, 1/4, empty). I rode for about an hour before I was below 1/4 battery. My first ride on the scooter was up and down numerous hills, all paved streets. My first impression was "wow is this thing solid". Little bumps on the 2"x14" tires were almost unnoticeable. The scooter does not have a speedometer, they claim the top speed is 15.5-20mph. Going down hill I suspect it goes more than 20mph. Going uphill I doubt it goes faster than 10-12mpg, but it gets there. It rides at a comfortable speed on flat terrain. Having rented electric scooters in sseveral locations. I compared the ride to those scooters. This scooter is more solid and it handles much better. The larger tires seem to give it a more comfortable ride. After about 10 minutes of standing I finally sat down on the seat. The seat is fairly wide, soft and very comfortable. I found the wider foot platform (base of the scooter) was a great feature, I'd not thought much about it. I also found that riding seated was quite enjoyable, even relaxing. It's different from riding a bike seated, where you typically are moving your legs. Sitting with your legs firmly on the platform is more like sitting on a couch with your feet up on a hassock, but with wind in your face. I really like the idea of using this scooter to pick up a few things from the grocery store, the rear platform with a basket behind the seat makes that so much more practical. Once I get a decent lock I think I'll start using it for that when the weather is nice.
I'm really impressed by the scooter's stability. It was really easy to get it into my SUV just lowering 1/2 the rear seating, and not collapsing anything (something I can't do with my eBike). I kind of wished it had a speedometer (just for curiosity's sake), and wished it had a range more like 25-30 miles. The speed seems very comfortable. The front and rear brakes slow you down and stop you, but not too quickly (if you slam them on you won't go over the handle bar). When you apply the brakes the rear reflector lights up and blinks (a great safety feature). The front led headlight is nice to have, but I don't think it's bright enough to allow you to ride at night (safely). I believe the scooter weighs about 60 lbs. The rear suspension can be adjusted. It includes a kickstand and reflectors on the wheels and frame. The battery can not easily be changed and the throttle has no markings on it (a raised area would have been nice). The scooter includes a 2 year warranty. I'm very pleased with it, I think you will be too.

It is intended to be use with a MS Surface Pro (G4-G7); the Surface typically runs Windows 10, and there are multiple versions (processor/memory for the surface).

Make healthy smoothies and drinks with this SharkNinja Ninja Foodi blender. This SharkNinja Ninja Foodi blender features preset Auto-iQ smart programs that take the guesswork out of operation and dishwasher-safe parts for effortless cleaning.

Is there a compatible single serve blending cup that I can use with this blender? I’m interested in a 20 or 24 ounces blending cup option.

It comes with 2 x 16oz personal containers (actually 32oz, but for blending you should only fill to 16oz when using

There's no Puree' option, so does this blender not have a way to blend a smoothie until it's basically almost as smooth as milk? That's pretty much going to be my deciding factor between this and the Instant Pot blender. Thanks.

It does have a Pulse mode that moves the mixture thought-out the container, fine for a puree

How do I purée foods? It doesn’t have a purée button.

It has 2 modes, smooth and pulse, the pulse mode move the mixture throughout the container very effectively, would easily puree.

Can I use another attachment with this blender like Nutri Ninja or the coffee and spice grinder ?

They offer a separate small jar (not included) which would be great for a spice grinder, you could probably use the included large polycarbonate container for grinding coffee with the pulse mode, it should work well.
