Premium Looks and Feel, Decent Performance

The aluminum casing on the lid and surface are premium, and the soft touch of the entire backside is luxuriant. Build quality is excellent--higher than I expected from this price point. Hinges are solid and firm, but easy enough to manipulate into tent, display, or tablet mode.
The 1080p HD display is beautiful--and surprisingly resistant to fingerprints. Although my unit had one pixel DOA, I take that as an exception and not the rule. Images are rich and text is clear. The bezel is thinner than on most 15.6" screens. It's still a border, but not the obtrusive wide ones on budget models. Watching movies on this unit is a joy. The backlit keyboard feel is smooth, with a very slight indentation on each key for surety while typing. Speaker sound from the unit itself is high quality.
The Core i5 7th gen processor is responsive and quick, and 8GB of RAM, while fairly standard now does help performance, but this unit could definitely benefit from a solid state hard drive. With all the cloud services in use, 1TB HDD is plenty of space, and 500GB SSD would be plenty still and faster. Casual users will likely not notice any lag at all, but that SSD would make this smooth as butter. Hopefully, Acer includes that as an option for configuration. I noticed a little heat from the processor, but nothing to warrant concern as it does not "run hot" even while playing games on Steam.
The 2 USB 3.0 ports are much appreciated and blazing fast for transferring data or loading music onto the new machine. Battery life seems as stated, pretty solid 7-8 hours of general use streaming, working, etc.
This is a good value for the money with some unexpected premium perks, but opt for SSD if available.
One note--get rid of all the bloatware right off the bat. I can't believe those silly game packages are even still on personal PC's anymore. A minor annoyance, but I did not expect so much fluff to be preinstalled.

Pure sound and accurate HR tracking-Annoying alert

The sound is pure with full, rich lows and highs that don't get shrill. Fit is fine, but takes a bit of getting used to. They will not fall out of your ears, even though at first it feels they will. Just trust the design and roll with it. Make sure you realize these are not noise cancelling--in other words, you will hear the TV in the same room, or the dog bark, or the doorbell ring--you will just also hear excellent sound quality through the headphones. It only makes sense the HR would be super accurate measured through your left ear. It also syncs up with all the heath and fitness apps I had, including Apple Health. However, if the wire moves just the right way, the Bose Voice will warn you the HR is not tracking and tell you to adjust the earphone. This is fine, but gets really annoying after a bit. A simple beep would suffice, and it may keep me from actually using the new HR feature (you can turn it on and off in the Bose Connect app you are prompted to download at setup). If you have a wearable HR monitor, stick with it and the original Soundsport Wireless Earphones, and skip this gimmick.

Finally! Mop and vacuum in one

We have a cat and two dogs, and the the absolute darkest shade of wood floors offered. They show every paw print, slobber mark, and furry tumbleweed that lands on them. We also have a twice monthly housekeeper and a robot vac. We thought the robot would do the job in between cleanings, but w stop have to mop after it runs through and there are inevitably furballs pushed into corners that make it a mess. Enter Crosswave. Wow. I figured it would be okay, like a motorized wet jet. Nope, this thing has terrific suction! I was not expecting that at all. It sucked up fur, food, dust, and litter all the way to the base boards,AND left the floor clean at the same time. My wife and I both saw the results and said, " That's the dream!" Set up is simple, just follow the quick guide. Cleaning is much easier than I thought due to the removable cover on the head of the unit. The front racks are handy and necessary. The only flaw I see is in the design of the handle. I accidentally hit the switch a few times and turned the unit off. Easy enough to hit again and turn on, but that could be moved down the handle just a bit to prevent it.

Great sound, comfy

These headphones provide full, rich sound at any volume. I actually could not achieve distortion no matter how loud I ran them. The lows are full and the highs are clear--just as expected from Bose. The shape of the nibs that go into the ears looks awkward at first, but fits nicely without the vacuum-packed feel of some headphones. I was dubious, but they stayed firmly in place. There is a little clip for your shirt collar so the phones don't fall off completely when removed from your ears. These accept voice commands, and they are super easy to pair and start using right out of the box. Calls and tracks are controlled by a soft touch pad on the wire. Battery definitely lasts a full six hours. Make no mistake--you will be able to hear the world around you wearing these. the music sounds great, but cars, barking, television in the same room are still audible while using these. Good for cyclists or runners, not so great for the gym sometimes!

Sound is full and rich, but $$$

I don't know what the price point of these will be, but their wired predecessor was near the two hundreds. Audiophiles will love the rich lows and clear highs the Bose engineers give in this wireless pair, but I'm not sure I personally can say they are worth the expected price tag. The packaging is complete high end overkill, but very nice. I was dubious of the fit until I actually was able to be active for a prolonged period and these guys did not budge. They seated and stayed without that vacuum packed feel of many earbud products. Noise cancelling is unnoticeable, just as it should be. Volume is booming, and does not distort! I have not paid attention to battery life, but I also have not charged them in several hours of use, so it's probably very good. The bluetooth pairing is straightforward, quick, and easy. Making calls, taking calls is also just as expected. If you like the higher priced end of sound--go for it, for myself, I'd probably opt for a less expensive option.

Maxstream made my whole yard blaze with WiFi. All you do is plug it in. Set up is a breeze. We have a two story home with a large back yard, and I would constantly flip to LTE for Pandora when I was outside. Now the WiFi stays on the whole time I'm streaming.

Does what it's designed for very well

First of all--I bought three of these within a week. One for my mother, then one for me, then my wife had to have one. We all love them. In reading other reviews, I think most negatives come from folks expecting too much of this little machine. It's an Atom processor with 2GB of RAM--not a powerhouse laptop. It's PERFECT for web browsing, email, any MS Office tasks, streaming movies, accessing cloud content, playing Majong, Skype, etc. It's quick to wake, quick to charge, long battery life, nice screen for the size. The fit and finish is beautiful and make it feel like a well built machine. The size is convenient, as is the detachability. If your expectation is to have a smooth running, ultra-portable little lappy you can throw in your bag and depend on for the basics every day, you'll love it. If you want something with robust specs to run resource intensive games and programs -- look way beyond Atom/2GB -- you're in the wrong section.

We have used it faithfully for several years--and that means it has opened hundreds of bottles of wine! Last week, we had about twenty women over for wine night, and several commented they have the same opener, but never use it because they couldn't figure it out! I did a demo for them and now everyone loves their wine openers. The trick is that you push the DOWN button the entire time until the cork is completely free of the bottle. Then push the UP button to until the cork spits out. Easy peasy, and it DOES come with a foil cutter!!

We needed a smallish tv for the back porch to watch baseball and football during cookouts, etc. We were shocked at the "bang for buck" factor on this Toshiba. At less than $400, a SmartTV with 120hZ, 1080p, and a truly slim form factor is a steal. The picture quality is amazing even at close range. We sit no more than 7 feet from the screen and nary a pixel is seen. Strangely enough, the onboard speakers are actually very good at projecting quality sound.
The ease and intuitiveness of set up was refreshing. The remote is simple and it just works. I had this up, and running on the wireless network in about ten minutes. Netflix and Pandora streaming are effortless. The only thing to give pause is the lack of other content through the SmartTV part of the interface. I expected to be able to get MLB Season Pass and Hulu, but apparently these are not offered by Toshiba.

Used for Insignia 26" DVD/LCDTV Combo.
Wall mounts for flat panel TV's are intimidating--most of the time. This little mount was the easiest thing I have ever installed! Find a stud, Drill two holes, use two bolts to hang mount, hang the TV--DONE! That's it. All in all it takes about twenty minutes. As far as being confident the TV will stay put--no question. I think I could hang my car on it. They even include a level to make it impossible to hang crooked!
I'll be purchasing another one of these gems for the TV in the master bedroom.

I work in construction and these are supposedly noise canceling, how good are they with the outside noise and wind?
Excellent noise cancelling. I was my car with the radio on full blast and could only hear the headphones.

Will the Oster open plastic corks easily?
Our old Oster will NOTopen plastic corks easily. We need a replacement opener what are our options?
I have this model, and it opened a plastic cork with no trouble at all just last night. Just be sure to use the included foil cutter first, and you're good to go!
