At only $499.00 this is a fantastic buy from a reputable manufacturer. The image on this site shows $35 per year to operate. The sticker on the device read only 18.00 per year. It is very light too.

This is the ticket. I have tried other tablets from many manufactures as well as cell phones on Android. None can compare to the 1920 x 1200 display. It's got 4 cores at 1.5 Ghz.

Drops Internet connection too often

I had to return this one as it would not keep the Internet connection. I saw many drops per day in the cable modem log, which explained the download interruption errors.
I wanted this one based on a previous router from Netgear and the same feature in this one to block certain sites.
The Netgear Genie software reflects incorrect settings and staus compared to the web-based config interface.
Netgear Geanie has to be downloaded separately.
Parental controls require 3rd party software / registration

This is a very nice monitor. 1080p is just gorgeous. I do wish that it booted faster - one has to look at the Acer then Energy Star logos for too long. It is very good at auto-sensing devices being powered on or off and acts accordingly. I paid the normal price for this one as I was returning a gift that was a lot less monitor both in size and in resolution. This was the only monitor that met my minimum specs in the store where purchased.

This device has saved loads of money as cable companies charge $3.00 - 7.00 per month rental fee for the same or similar device.
Although it is DOCSIS 2 and not 3, the cable company in most cases only needs 2 for the lower speeds

This is one great gadget. It just keeps impressing me. This is my first smart phone. Ice Cream Sandwich makes it very nice to use. When texting, it predicts my next word with amazing accuracy - as if it's reading my mind. It fixes my typos as well. My only complaint would be the battery life.

This wireless router is a simple no-frills router. It can easily handle many devices wirelessly at once. We use a mix of Windows-based PCs and laptops, Android Tablets and smart phones simultaneously. Even a wireless printer when the printer is functioning.
You can see the connected devices using the web-browser interface.
I would like to be able to block certain sites though. That feature is missing from this device.
I would now recommend a similar priced Netgear router.

This was purchased as a replacement device. We are very happy with it. The weight and feel make you think it is anything but toy-like. It has a beautiful display. The only thing missed is the memory card slot, but with 16GB of storage, it will not be filled for a long time. Stereo speakers and Dolby Digital sounds nice!

I must add to the above review.
After many Internet searches for info on NFC support, I sent an email to Lenmar the maker of this item. The response received confirms that this device does NOT support NFC.
If you are interested in using things like Android beam, tap-to-pay (Google Wallet, Isis wallet etc) then look for a better item.

can I watch regular digital television channels if i buy chromecast?
Time Warner Cable wants me to buy the box to rent so i be able to watch what is like ABC, NBC, FOX, PBS, ETC. Ever since the regular channels became digital, they want people to buy a digital television in order to keep watching, but not too long ago, now no channels will display and I was or am thinking of buying chromecast if it allows me to watch these channels again apart from netflix. If this device don't do what i am asking for, should i just buy the one call rabbit tv usb stick?
There ARE apps for the Android platform from each of the networks you listed. I have NOT been able to watch LIVE programs from those apps. The chromecast can display content from a large amount of video sources, but I have not yet determined how to get access to LIVE broadcasts other than from ESPN onto the Chromecast.

if i download a movie on my laptop can i cast it to my tv?
Yes. Most video content can be 'cast' to the device using the Chrome Browser on Windows PCs and there is a wide variety of apps to cast from the Android platform as well. For content not supported by the Chromecast natively, try using a media server like Plex and / or BubbleUPnP.

What is little pushbutton for at end of device?
That little button on the Chromecast is a reset button. Press it and hold it until the device reboots. I have been told the it will clear some issues.

I bought this tablet for my son and he is wanting to download minecraft with mods is this available?
Minecraft Pocket Edition should work just fine. I am not familiar with Minecraft mods.

Moving things to the 16G memory
OK, I got that part but how do I move things to the card. A lot of the move options are grayed out. How do I move (step by step please) things like videos or pictures and such.
If it is grayed out, it cannot be moved to SD card for technical reasons.
Make sure that the SD card is formatted for use in the device.

How do I set the memory to the 16G and not the internal memory on the A1000 tablet?
As with any Adroid device, when you install an app, you can go into settings and select "Move to SD Card". Other (non-app) items can be copied / moved to the SD Card.

This item is much cheaper than items from Google, etc that run the same OS. Apps included include Google apps and you can add any you need / like.
