Excellent product

I'm writing this from the point of view of a multiple long haired dog owner. We've owned multiple expensive vacuums, including Miele. It's very frustrating to have to use tools to unscrew the roller for cleaning.
We also have the Bissel Pet Hair Remover vacuum, which we've been using for the past few months. The roller on that stays remarkably clean, but it is a pretty big & heavy unit.
The Shark is nice for its features - completely hooked up, it's somewhat lighter than the Bissel, but the key is that you can "lift off", take it apart, and use it for the stairs. Another feature is the top of the brush unit lifts up, and you can easily remove the brush for cleaning. Since the brush on the Shark doesn't stay as clean as the Bissel, this is a nice feature. The LED light on the brush head is also nice.
One more major feature is that it swivels nicely, and is able to reach under chairs, couches a bit easier than the Bissel.
If you're a pet owner, both of these units do a great job on pet hair, the Shark moves easier and is lighter, but not having to remove the brush so often is a great help on the Bissel. Take your pic, both are nice units.

An Excellent Value

As an audiophile with high end vinyl equipment, I tend to look at low & mid priced audio equipment with a good dose of skepticism. However, I believe Sony has hit a sweet spot here. I don't believe you'll find much better audio quality in an ear bud style at this price point.
The extra bass (XB) is not just a marketing blurb. The bass on this is crisp, clean, and does not come at the cost of drowning out the midrange.
If you're looking at these, there's a good chance you'll be using these for sports/fitness. I'm no heavy duty gymnast, but using these on walks about town and light activities, I had no problem with them. The fit was excellent and comfortable. As these are not noise cancelling, expect a certain amount of intrusion, but that's kind of a good thing if you're out running, no?
Phone answering and mike quality was excellent - which made me think - at the price of a good quality bluetooth earpiece, you're getting a set of quality wireless stereo headphones - what are those earpiece makers thinking?
Mind you, I recently tired a set of the new Bose Soundsport noise cancelling headphones. The sound, build quality, and overall feel are in a different league. But they're 4X the price of these! So my rating of 5 stars for this set takes the pricing into account - you're getting a good amount of tech at a bargain price.

Solid unit

My situation is in a bi-level home, 2,000 square foot (1000 each level, 50x20), with the internet coming in at an extreme corner of the lower level. I have had consistent issues reaching the opposite corner of the upper level, and intermittent streaming issues throughout. I've tried high gain antennas, 2nd routers set up as access points, wall plug units that utilize the home's electrical grid, in short, whatever the latest & greatest technology was supposed to be.
Lately however, it seems there's been some quantum leaps in home wifi units. I recently tried the Netgear Orbi, and was very satisfied with the results.
Upon installing the Linksys, I was grateful to find a quick and simple web setup. The user interface is excellent, and is as easy or as complex as you need it to be. There's even a smartphone app if you feel the need, as for me, I want to spend 10 minutes setting it up, and have it work forever without having to give it a second thought.
The performance was solid - I had a Netflix + Amazon video stream running, then went up to the far corner of the house to stream some youtube on the desktop pc - no issues.
This is, however, a piece of high tech, and the build & appearance of it makes no bones about it. It's an impressive unit with bold angular styling, and it does take up a formidable amount of shelf or desktop space - and for those that call the power transformers "bricks", well this one fits the description well. So if you like to advertise your tech, this will do you proud. My wife, on the other hand, is not a fan of antennas sticking out. As mentioned previously, I had the Netgear Orbi installed. Both of these units gave me similar performance. However, the Orbi has beautiful styling, and the remote unit blends right into the kitchen counter. It even draws comments like "what's that? - a hand blender? Lol.
But then you have to consider cost. The Netgear is significantly costlier than the Linksys. Both are quality products, you just have to decide which fits better into your particular lifestyle & budget. Either one will undoubtedly be a significant upgrade to whatever your local cable company is offering, and in today's multi-streaming environment, products like these have become a necessity.

A first rate choice

I must admit, I'm not one that jumps at every new smartphone launch. My Galaxy S3 was getting a little shopworn though, so it was time to make a move. So if you think there's a few too many superlatives here, take this review from the perspective of someone making a major upgrade. I was totally unprepared for how quickly technology has advanced in a few short years.
Of course, the first thing you notice is the screen - During startup, I could immediately see from the dancing Google dots that this was one bright & sharp screen. I then opened the camera and started panning around - I see the reaction time, and realize that my old phone was working on time delay, the Pixel put me in real time. The next thing I noticed was the depth of field - objects both near & far were all clearly in focus - i might have a little less need to tap the focus box to tell the camera what the focus point was going to be. Then i took a few shots - and snap! - the camera reacts immediately - it was like i just upgraded to a 35mm smartphone - no time to lose the perfect smile or a passing moment. I took shots both outdoors & indoors. In my backyard, I could zoom in and see blades of grass defined next to my Golden Retrievers. Inside, the response to low light situations was superb.
The overall feel of the aluminum/glass body is smooth to the touch, and seems like really excellent build quality. The quality even carries through to the supplied charge cables - they're about twice as thick & feel sturdy as compared to Apple's. I'm really tired of buying expensive cables for my daughter's iphones - I don't know if she's chewing them or what, but I seem to buy a cable every month!
Reaction time to scrolling, app startup, etc. is like lightning. I also appreciated the lack of bloatware clogging up the app center - nice and clean.
While it's not wireless, one thing i appreciate is the fast charge - isn't it annoying waking up in the morning late for work, and realizing you forgot to charge the phone. With the Pixel, you can plug it in & have a 50-75% charge by the time you make & drink your cup of coffee.
As i previously stated, I'm not one that changes phones on every product launch - matter of fact, I've lived on hand-me-downs from my wife & daughter for quite a few years now. So this is the first time I've ever been the one to have the "newest" product. My daughter, a staunch Iphoner, and who is not usually impressed with much, especially things Android - well, after handing the phone to her, it didn't get the cursory glance and "that's nice" - rather, the phone disappeared for quite some time while she checked it out.
So the good news is I now have the best & latest phone in the family - the bad news - now i might have to buy 2 more!

A new standard in wireless

My first experience after selecting the proper size earbud from the set of 3 included was to evaluate the feel of the neckband - it's soft, pliable, comfortable - maybe i exaggerate, but I am a true despiser of headbands, and appreciate the alternative. I also am extremely skeptical of the new totally wireless Iphone buds - I can't get the picture out of my head of stepping off a curb and hearing the clink of an expensive airpod plinking down a sewer grate. This is what should've shipped with an Iphone. I'm sure there are those out there that have become totally accustomed to the Airpod, but I'm just insecure about the whole deal - give me a wire.
The sound quality is just what you'd expect from Bose - solid across the frequency range. But that's not why you're looking at these, right? It's really about the adjustable noise cancelling - and that's really neat. Do you want to have some awareness of what's going on around you? Or would you prefer to block it all out? It's right there at your fingertips. Pretty cool to be able to dial it up on demand. Spent a bit of time in different environments both indoor & out and was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked - I've just had it in my head that you'd never have good noise cancellation in the absence of an over the ear phone.
I'm also a vinyl aficionado - I have a high end turntable and appreciate my music loud - which my family & pets do not! I've used my Sennheisers to reduce the complaints, but as i said before, I really despise over the ear headbands. This set has given me a comfortable alternative - and i can set the noise cancellation to a level where i can still hear the requests to take out the trash - or maybe not if i turn it up! Ok, I'm still missing the vibrations in my chest from the booming bass in my audio room, but maybe Bose will figure that out sometime soon.
Till then, if you're looking at this price point, this is a great product.

Excellent product, but...

My situation - bi-level home, 50x20, 1,000 sq ft on each floor, service enters in the extreme southeast corner, wifi devices scattered throughout - 3 wireless dvds, 2 smart tv's, ipad, amazon echo, thermostat, etc, etc.
The one that's always given me the biggest problem is the wife's pc, located in the extreme northwest corner.
Over the years, I've tried many solutions - additional routers configured as access points, hi gain booster antennas on the routers, POE (power over ethernet - those devices you plug into a wall socket) - but I could never get more than 2 bars on the farthest pc. Streaming on the north side of the house is sometimes spotty, at times either buffering or dropping resolution.
So, I naturally viewed the Orbi with a certain amount of skepticism. The hype on the Orbi lays it on heavy about being preconfigured, easy setup. Well, maybe for some, but - here comes the first snag for me. I have Verizon Fios, with the combination modem/router for internet, tv, & phone. The skimpy pamphlet that comes packaged in the box only covers the very best of circumstances - that being that you take it out of the box, plug it in, and you're hooked up in less than 5 minutes.
My first task then became hunting online for directions to hook up to a Fios modem.
If you have a situation like mine, here's what you need to do - first you need to go into the modem setup and disable wifi on the Fios network.
Next, hook the Orbi with a cable to LAN port on the Fios modem. Now, from your wifi device, you are directed to a proprietary website, orbilogin.com, from which you can login to the Orbi setup page. In the setup, you change the Orbi to AP (access point) mode, and also choose to get an IP dynamically from the Fios router. The IP address of the Orbi then configures itself to 10.0.0.1, and you should be good to go. Not exactly as simple as advertised, and zero information in the box about this.
As far as performance, I hooked the base unit next to the Fios router in the southeast corner, lower level. I placed the satellite at the midpoint of the house on the upper level. I first went to the habitually troubled pc in the northwest corner, and was happy to finally have full service there.
I ran a couple of speed tests, I have 75 Mgh service, at the midpoint of the house with no direct line of site to the Orbi, I was pulling a 65. The pc in the far corner was doing a 60. I'm no wireless technician but I consider that pretty good for over the air, and certainly the best I've had in the house.
My reason for dropping a star in the rating is first & foremost, cost. This is an expensive unit, and at this price point, I didn't appreciate the next to useless pamphlet in the box. There should at least be some rudimentary explanation for various contingencies that might arise during installation. Here in the NY metro area, Fios has a pretty significant market share - not sure if there are other service providers that use a similar modem/router configuration, but there should at least be a nod to the fact that this isn't an idiot proof setup for 100% of the population.
That being said, it has so far performed without a hiccup, which is more than i can say for the hundreds of dollars i've previously spent on wifi access/extender products.

Excellent but could use some tweaks for 5 stars

I'll preface this by mentioning that I am an owner of multiple long haired dogs for over 30 years - so I know a thing or two about dog hair! Over this period, I can't tell you how much we've spent on vacuums - and not cheap ones either - we've had Electrolux, Hoover, and multiple Mieles. On every one, I've had to get disassemble the head, get out the hobby knife, and literally cut the hair off the roller - far too often.
This Pet Hair Eraser is hands down the best in terms of vacuum power and ability to keep the roller clean. In just a few passes it had begun to pick up what the others had left behind - and I could tell this since there was hair collected from pets that were long gone from the home. After 3 rooms worth of vacuuming, the canister needed to be emptied twice.
It is a heavy unit - even with the roller ball head, if you're doing a lot of twists and turns to get around furniture, it does require some effort to move around. I don't want to knock it too much for that as some of the heft can be attributed to being "built well" and hopefully long lasting. It does have a 5 year limited warranty, so it seems they're standing by the product.
My first actual dislike is the short hose for the hand tool. This first became evident when doing the couch, to reach both sides and the back I seemed to be always tugging the unit left, right, or backwards. And since I live in a bi-level, it's not long enough to do the stairs - I'd have to constantly move the unit along with me down the steps, and as mentioned before, it's no lightweight.
The hand tool is also fairly good -sized, so it's not going to slip under the couch or tight space. Those of you that own long hairs know how often you need to take off the grill and clean under the refrigerator where all the hair gets sucked it. Our fridge is very sensitive to this, I know that when the ice cream starts to get a little soft, it's time to get under there!. I think that the addition of a thinner crevice tool along with the larger one would have served the purpose.
Also, the head of the main unit with the rollers is also a bit tall as compared to other vacuums we've owned, so doesn't fit under short items as well. Don't want to complain too loudly about that, as it might be the design of it that's responsible for it working so well in picking up the dust and dirt.
So overall, I'm pretty happy with the unit - the drawbacks are far outweighed by the fact that the darn thing works so well for the advertised purpose - it's been 30 years since we've had so little hair on the rug!
This Pet Hair Eraser is hands down the best in terms of vacuum power and ability to keep the roller clean. In just a few passes it had begun to pick up what the others had left behind - and I could tell this since there was hair collected from pets that were long gone from the home. After 3 rooms worth of vacuuming, the canister needed to be emptied twice.
It is a heavy unit - even with the roller ball head, if you're doing a lot of twists and turns to get around furniture, it does require some effort to move around. I don't want to knock it too much for that as some of the heft can be attributed to being "built well" and hopefully long lasting. It does have a 5 year limited warranty, so it seems they're standing by the product.
My first actual dislike is the short hose for the hand tool. This first became evident when doing the couch, to reach both sides and the back I seemed to be always tugging the unit left, right, or backwards. And since I live in a bi-level, it's not long enough to do the stairs - I'd have to constantly move the unit along with me down the steps, and as mentioned before, it's no lightweight.
The hand tool is also fairly good -sized, so it's not going to slip under the couch or tight space. Those of you that own long hairs know how often you need to take off the grill and clean under the refrigerator where all the hair gets sucked it. Our fridge is very sensitive to this, I know that when the ice cream starts to get a little soft, it's time to get under there!. I think that the addition of a thinner crevice tool along with the larger one would have served the purpose.
Also, the head of the main unit with the rollers is also a bit tall as compared to other vacuums we've owned, so doesn't fit under short items as well. Don't want to complain too loudly about that, as it might be the design of it that's responsible for it working so well in picking up the dust and dirt.

When you think Bose, probably the first association you make is quality sound. They've had a long and storied history providing unique products with excellent audio. And that was my main expectation upon first trying these - and they do have good sound. I spent some time going through my playlists specifically picking out different genres to try to find a weak point. Then it dawned on me - I had actually forgotten i was wearing earbuds! I'm usually always fussing with these things, adjusting the fit to the ear, repositioning the bud - they never seem to stay in place. Not so with these - they're absolutely the most comfortable headsets i've ever encountered. The design is such that the bud sits loosely in the ear (open) but remains firmly in place.
As an open design, these do admit ambient sound - and as such, do have their place - we do want to hear that car coming down the road, no? I'm a vinyl audiophile guy - so if i want to hear every nuance of the music, this is not the piece of gear i'm looking for. But if i'm outside in the environment, i want something that sounds good, but also allows me to be aware of my surroundings while not having to constantly play & adjust with it to feel comfortable. (and not have to worry about a few raindrops getting into my expensive electronics)
You might want to read some other reviews if you're concerned about detailed audio comparisons or battery life, I don't use it but for a couple of hours at a time, and i didn't experience any audio breakup or distortions. For me, it's about the feel of it, and in my book, this headset represents a new high water mark in terms of wearability & comfort.

A product that works - first time!

OMG! - do you know how many of these things i've tried? No-names, Netgear, Tenda, both stand-alone and AC line extenders. Hours of frustration, poor directions, no web help - and then once you get it to finally work, a marginal improvement. So, my expectations were low for any difference with this product.
I'm in a two story home, the router hookup is on the lower level in one corner of the house. Nothing I used could increase strength to the far corner of the house (about 60 foot) beyond one or two bars.
I setup the unit midway, and used the WPS button to connect. Got the green light, good to go. If you are setting up both the 2.4 and 5 GH bands, you need to go through the WPS procedure twice as they are really separate devices (mac addresses). I then checked the laptop at the far end, and voila, 4 bars - success.
However, it got better. While i had placed the unit in what i thought would be the optimal location, i used the spot finder app, and it suggested a move to an opposite wall, and i was soon working with a full 5 bars.
Once you get setup, you can log into the unit, there are check boxes that allow you to change the extender's broadcast name (it's initially your router's name followed by _ext, which makes it a seamless connection.
While the cost of this unit is in the upper range compared against similar products, the Linksys name, ease of setup, and spot finder app justify the price difference.
It's a pleasure to be able to watch Netflix & Amazon video without breakup & endless buffering.

This is a fully loaded, top of the line, feature packed router - the MU-MIMO (multi-user multiple input multiple output) is at the top of the list, and should future proof your home office/entertainment purposes for some time to come. While you may not have MU-MIMO capable devices in your home right now, they will be coming to you soon. This allows individual continuous streams to be delivered to separate devices simultaneously, taking full advantage of your internet connection.
The ideal situation for using this router would be for a multi-user home that is ready to "cut the cable", i.e. dumping their cable provider in favor of using Netflix, Hulu, HBO & Showtime GO, etc. They would then be able to maximize the throughput to each individual device without buffering, stuttering, etc.
There are eight antennas built into the unit, and each can be individually pointed to maximize signal strength to any particular device. Four of these are on the 2.4 GH band, the other 4 on the 5 GH band.
The initial setup was pain free, as I have experienced with other Linksys products. I have used my fair share of lower priced products, and had to invest hours of time dealing with incomplete and badly translated manuals, non-existent websites and tech support, and incomprehensible directions. I've always found Linksys to be at the top of the chain in this regard, and this router is no different. Connect this to your current modem, it will auto-detect and assign itself a new IP address. From there, it's as deep as you want to go. I can't imagine anyone other than a serious professional that could use all the features available. Great web interface with a network map to visualize, rename & observe signal strength and quality on each device. A smartphone app (Smart WiFi) that allows you to prioritize devices, cut them off (it's bedtime, kiddies - lol), or create a guest network to protect from prying eyes (hey neighbor, can i borrow your wi-fi!)
Make no mistake, this is one serious piece of equipment. And it's expensive for sure. But for those willing to spend the bucks, it's top performance and insurance for the future, even at a time when technology seems to leapfrog your current equipment every 6 months.

If you look at my review, I have the indoor unit sitting on my kitchen counter along with my Orbi satellite. They coexist perfectly. No, it doesn't do cold. No, no whole pots - this is only for single drinks.
