Smart air purifier with some horsepower

I was skeptical at first regarding the cost of this unit compared to others I have used before. This air purifier is a serious machine though.
First, that packaging is very nice and it is packed in an almost artistic way. It reminds me of unboxing a Dyson. You have to put some plastic screens at the bottom of the unit and you are ready to begin. You turn it on and it pretty much starts working right away. You press the 'Q' button and it is ready to connect to your network. You download the app and you hit the plus symbol to add the device. The connection process is the same as almost every other smart device I have ever used. It was now connected to my network and the app shows me my air quality in real time. That is pretty nice.
So it runs very quiet and smooth and looks very futuristic. It has a glowing display and when anyone sees it you immediately know it is some kind of high-tech device. I really love the way it looks. It is like a gunmetal sleek gray. We have it set up in our living room which is open to our kitchen so it covers a large area. This is built for large rooms.
So one day I was half asleep in my bedroom and my wife went to the living room to fix her hair as not to bother me. She began to use hairspray and the purifier kicked into high gear to clean the air. This woke me up and we both had a good laugh. I thought this was very cool as you can tell it is doing it's job. Another example was when I was cooking a nice steak on my cast iron skillet. It was getting kind of smoky and I turned on my hood fan and my ceiling exhaust fan. But next thing I knew, the purifier kicked in again.
Overall I have been enjoying the peace of mind with this unit keeping my large living room clean. Most of my family and I suffer from seasonal allergies so I cannot wait until spring and summer roll around to find out if this makes a big difference. So far it has been impressing me with each day it runs.

Worked way better than expected!

First off, I have been using "rabbit ear" antennas since I was a small child. I have gone through many years using cable and satellite, but for a little over a year now I have gone completely over the air and streaming. I Have quite a few antennas in my house and have tested at least a half dozen. This RCA antenna outperformed most that I have in my home.
This one is pretty traditional with a main unit and the 2 retractable antennas that are actually pretty long. You plug it in to the TV and also to a power source and away you go.
So I tried this out in my basement office where I watch the morning news while I am working from home. My current antenna is one of those flat antennas mounted in the ideal spot after several hours of calibrating. I had a whopping 14 total channels. I set up this RCA in almost the same spot and ran the channel search. It found 30 total channels...30! I was ecstatic. The old channels I did get were also dicey and now those tried and true channels came in perfect. I could not be happier but the instructions recommend an app.
There is an RCA app that helps you find the best position based on where the network towers are located. I am in a far north Chicago suburb and the app literally showed Chicago on a map and Milwaukee on a map. It was kind of funny as I could have just pointed the antenna towards Chicago or Milwaukee at any time. So I did and ran the channel search again. This time it found only 25. I found this even more funny. So I now have little faith in the concept of simply aiming the antenna towards the big city's towers.
I then positioned it back in my original ideal spot and ran the channel search again and this time it found 35! I was perplexed as to how if found 5 more channels back in it's original spot. But I was not complaining as I now have several shop from home channels that I always find somewhat hypnotic.
Overall I have extremely pleased with this antenna as it has given more channels to entertain me in the background while I am hard at work in my home office. Take the app for what it's worth, but I uninstalled it right after the first attempt using it. I think this is a 5 star antenna all day.

Does it's job perfectly, a little loud

This electric kettle is very straight forward. You add water, close the lid, place on it's base, and push down the power button/lever. A few minutes later you have boiling hot water. It does this very well.
Now some details. The container takes only a few minutes, less than 5, to get the water boiling hot. This depends on how much you fill it, but I used it to the max fill line. While it is heating the water it gets fairly loud. It sounds like a dishwasher while it is running. This is not a big deal and I do not know if this is typical as this is my first electric kettle. It does not really bother me, just thought I should mention.
This kettle claims to be "cool touch" and this is partially true. The outside of the container gets very warm if not hot. I thought it was ok to touch but my teenage daughter claimed it was too hot for her. My hands are a little more callus so I believe your experience with the heat may vary.
The cord stores underneath the base so this is very convenient. The power lever light up when heating and shuts off and pops up when it is done. I love the straight forward design and I found it very easy to use out of the box.
Overall I really love this kettle as I used it on the weekend and will use every weekend to make my French press for my wife and me. My kids use it for a heating pouch. We will use it for Ramen and anything else that requires boiling hot water. I highly recommend.

Works well, mic not great

Overall this unit works very well as described. I cannot give it a perfect score because one of the main features does not work as expected.
First off, this unit is very nice and compact. It has the USB type C cable built in and stores on board. It is about the size of a small disc and comes with a storage pouch. You plug it into the USB type C input on your computer and it immediately recognizes it and it is up and running.
The sound is excellent on the unit. The sound gets nice and loud and you can control the volume and talk/end and mute all with on board buttons. It has LED lights that show the volume level with dots and they turn green when you are on a call and they turn red when you are muted. Overall I really like the looks and function.
I then tested it out on a Zoom call with all of my coworkers. I sat in a quiet room and sat about 3-4 feet away from the unit and everyone had a hard time hearing me. I think if you are on a conference call in a large room it will be an issue. I had to run a an HDMI cable further to get the unit closer to me so everyone could hear me. I did not like that the mic did not pick me up as the unit advertises an exceptional mic with noise filtering and high quality. I found it to be disappointing.
I then connected it to a Chromebook and then hooked up a monitor via HDMI. Please note that the laptop has to have a Type C with display port functionality to be able to connect a monitor. You cannot connect a monitor to a regular laptop without this feature from the type C port. But it picked up the monitor and it worked great with no issues.
Overall I really enjoyed using this unit but was ultimately let down by the microphone.

Does not straighten hair

My wife had some high expectations for this hot comb as she is constantly striving to straighten her hair. She has a flat iron, which does a nice job but takes a lot of work. The hot comb promised to both comb and straighten at the same time.
According to the chart, she has type 3B hair. It is not even the most curly. She ran the comb through her hair for several passes and it did not even some close to straightening it. She kept raising the temp gauge until it hit the highest, even with the "boost" it still took way too many passes to get it less curly. Please see the photo for the final result.
The other bad thing about the comb is that it does not have a guard or safe way to get to the end of the hair strands without burning your fingers. You cannot effectively comb to the end of the hair unless you let go, but you need to keep the hair straight with tension so it can work. But it simply doesn't work anyways, so this is a non issue I suppose.

We absolutely love this massager! I love it and my spouse thinks it may replace her monthly visits to the chiropractor for massage therapy appointments.
The unit feel very solid, sturdy and well built. It comes with some charge, but I decided to give it a full charge anyways. The operation takes a little getting used to as it is not simply off/on. You have to hold the power button to turn on the unit. Then you single press the power button to actually activate the massage function. Each time you press it after it is on will cycle through 3 different strength levels of massage. The lowest setting is actually pretty thorough, we have not used level 3 at all as it may be too intense for us.
It comes with 2 different attachments, one broad attachment for large areas, and a pointed attachment for isolating a smaller area or muscle.
Now on the the function. This gets into the deep tissue and just feel natural in the hand. You can get to hard to reach spots on the upper and lower back easily. It gets into the soft spots between the shoulder bladed to provide instant relief. It still will not get to the middle back, but you can always get help from someone to do it. It has provided solid relief for both my spouse and I.
So far we have used it intermittently for a little over a week and have not had to charge it still. The battery appears to last a very long time.
Overall, I cannot say enough good things about this massager. We have looked at many different percussion massagers and never pulled the trigger. But we do not regret getting this little beauty for one moment.

Beautiful and work great!

The Nanoleaf Hexagons are beautiful and work exactly as described.
Right out of the box you can pretty much figure out how to use them. You connect the power adapter to one of the hexagons then you can link them using the links provided. Then you can add the control to any one of the hexagons.
You then go into the Nanoleaf app and hit add new device. I already have the canvas so the app is already setup for me. If I recall correctly you just need to install the app and create an account. Once you are in the setup process you scan the QR code that came with your hexagons and it installs them.
Once installed they are very easy to use and respond almost instantly via the app. There are several themes you can use and they will respond to music and you can customize them based on a color scheme. This is nothing groundbreaking but still fun to play with. I have several light apps that all function pretty much the same way.
They include pieces of mounting tape, I have not mounted them yet as I have yet to decide where I want to permanently place them.
Overall I think these hexagons are very stylish and I love how flawlessly they work with the app. If you are looking for a way to dazzle people in your rec room or bar, or anywhere you would like to make a statement then I would highly recommend.

Works fairly well between cleanings

Overall I like the Shark Bot and I find it very useful between deep cleanings.
You can have the vac charging about 2 minutes after you remove it from the box. The quick start guide is very easy to follow and there is not a lot to put together. I enjoyed the ease of use.
You then install the app and set up the vac. I then connected it to my Alexa. This entire process took me about 5 minutes with no issues.
The only thing I don't like is that when you talk to Alexa you have to call it the "shark" rather than the cool name you gave your bot.
After it charges for the first time you set it out on its zoning run. It runs over any space you allow it and scans for the zones/rooms. It was fairly accurate but had a hard time scanning my kitchen with the chairs and table. It had a skewed version of that zone. You can name the zones/rooms so you can set it out to clean those specific areas if you choose. That is pretty nice. I will probably have it do another scan later to see if it can capture the rooms better.
I then set if off on it's first vacuum only run. It was not bad but it did not clean like I hoped it would. There were several spots of obvious dirt that it missed. It also got stuck on the kitchen chair legs and kept going back to them like it wanted to get stuck. I hope to correct this after the re-scan. I was not very impressed.
I then set it loose in my back room which my dogs frequently eat and sleep. It did a better job at cleaning as there was almost no obstructions to stop it.
I then filled the water reservoir and attached it with the mopping pad. I let it loose in the back dog's room again. It left the floor pretty clean and it was way better than it was. However there were some spill marks left that were there from when some beer had fallen from a previous activity. The floor also smelled like dog in some areas that had heavier traffic. It looked overall clean, but was not completely clean. It also misses the corner of the room from a vacuuming standpoint.
I would say that this should serve to get you to your deep cleanings with little maintenance. You will then need to get the stick vacs and mops or steamers to get the deep clean your floors actually need. Note that I have all laminate and Pergo flooring, no carpets.

Simple and works well

This portable charger/holder works well and does it's job. I have not found myself using it as much as I thought I would.
I have a Galaxy S9 plus with an Otterbox Symetry case and I have to remove it to place in this holder. It expands easily to fit the phone and it holds it very secure. It has never slipped out once while in use, so that is a non issue.
The charger works well and keeps the phone charge moving up while in heavy use. Most chargers will only keep a charge when you are using a battery draining game or app. This one actually charges my phone up while playing.
The form factor is nice and it fits great in your hands. I played several games and I love playing with it. I used Mario kart and it felt like I was playing it for the first time.
The only downside is the built in fan. I like that a fan is included to keep the phone from overheating, but it is kind of loud. I was charging my phone with it one night and had to raise my TV volume because the fan was so loud. To be fair it was before bed when the house was quiet and the phone was with me in bed.
I like the placement of the holder as I am able to plug in the charger and my headphones if I put it in the holder one direction. But depending on what side you mount it you will lose access to either the power button or the volume rocker. It is not a huge deal as if you are mounting this to play you will not be locking your phone, so I choose to block the power button.
Overall, I think this is a very nice charger and holder and I would recommend to anyone who enjoys playing games on their phone and on the go.
I have a Galaxy S9 plus with an Otterbox Symetry case and I have to remove it to place in this holder. It expands easily to fit the phone and it holds it very secure. It has never slipped out once while in use, so that is a non issue.
The charger works well and keeps the phone charge moving up while in heavy use. Most chargers will only keep a charge when you are using a battery draining game or app. This one actually charges my phone up while playing.
The form factor is nice and it fits great in your hands. I played several games and I love playing with it. I used Mario kart and it felt like I was playing it for the first time.

This smart outdoor plug works perfectly. I have had zero issues with it so far and it has been rock solid.
You download the WEMO app and hit the plus sign which adds a new device. You plug in the device and the app discovers it. You enter your Wi-Fi settings/password and you are done.
The plug has 2 receptacles to plug things into. I am using one extension cord that powers all of my Christmas lights. The other one is vacant so I can add some lawn decorations later. I drilled a screw into my siding and mounted the smart plug to relieve stress on the cable of the smart plug. It has a big button on it for manual off/on. This plug feels solid and well built, it actually feels more durable and nicer than my regular non smart outdoor plug it replaces.
After I was all setup, I went into the app and set a schedule for the lights. I literally did it in less than 2 minutes. It was easier than any smart app for plugs/lights that I currently use. I set it and have not had to worry about it and it works flawlessly.
Overall, I cannot recommend this plug enough. It is rock solid, does exactly what it is supposed to, and you will not have to worry about it once you set it up. It has been a nice pleasant surprise for the holidays this tough year.

Can you use Harmony Elite AND Harmony Express in same room if you tweak Alexa App so that nothing overlaps ie commands,?
Logitech does not recommend using 2 Harmony remotes in the same room.

Was just advised by Norton rep (have Nighthawk 1900/r7000 + Ubee Spectrum modem & current Norton Internet Security Premium) that I should "ADD the Core to my Nighthawk for enhanced security". Is this correct? So I'd connect Core to modem AND Nighthawk??
You could run the Core from an open Ethernet port from your Nighthawk, but may want to consider eliminating the Nighthawk and only run the Core since it protects all of your connected devices at the source (router).

Have 2yr old Netgear Nighthawk ac1900/r7000 connected to a Spectrum/TW modem and about 350 days left of Norton Security Premium. As much as I like Core-safety sales pitch, is it really so good you'd trash my current router plus 11 month subscription?
