My first Smart watch and its pretty awesome
on August 31, 2022
Posted by: Nate34
For the longest time I never though a Smartwatch was something I actually wanted and/ or needed. Well thats changed now after seeing all the cool things it can do.
Theres not much in the box other than the watch so unboxing is rather simple. But once I saw and then felt the watch I could tell Samsung built this thing to last. The watch looks amazing. Yes its a lot larger than a standard watch but of course it has to be with all that is packed inside. The 45mm screen is the perfect size and all the info is so well laid out you can see everything you need easily. The titanium case has a raised lip to prevent scratches and screen damage. The unique sports band holds the watch in place well, and easily stays in place and on with even rigorous activity.
The initial set up was very easy pairing it to my Galaxy S21+. Then its just a matter of installing the widgets and getting all the settings the way you want it. I was starting from scratch, but if you are upgrading you can restore data. I personally prefer the old school look of hours and minute hands. But there are plenty of other ways to personalize it to your taste.
One of the coolest things I have found this useful for is when I am out on bike or scooter rides. Using the GPS on my watch is a lot more accurate on my scooter rides, and a lot easier on bike rides since I use to have to always pull out my phone to check things like calories burnt, distance, etc. Ive never trusted a $1000 phone with a plastic phone holder so I always keep my phone in my pocket. So being able to just glance over at my wrist for all the info I need including heart rate, etc. has been great.
Answering calls, texts, and receiving notifications all work perfect as well. I was pleasantly surprised at the microphone and speakers quality. I was sure there would be issues, but I was able to hear and be heard with no issues at all.
The improved 590mah battery in the 5 allows for a full day of heavy use and more. But I just do the same thing I do with my Galaxy S21+ and use the 25w charger to get both charged so they have full life at the start of each day.
Like I said before this was something I didnt know I wanted or needed until I tried it. It has so many unique things it can do and makes a lot of what you can do with a phone easier with a glance at your wrist. I look forward to finding more cool things it can do to make things easier and more productive. If you are looking for a Smartwatch this is one you should not pass up. Much recommended!

Top Notch performance and features
on August 23, 2022
Posted by: Nate34
If you are looking for a router that has all the current features without the fear of missing out on what will come in the years to come this is one that should be at the top of your list.
In the box you get the Nighthawk RAXE300 router, AC power adapter, Ethernet cable and the manual. First impressions on opening it was wow this looks like a spaceship from a sci-fi movie. The fold-able antennas look just like wings. Its awesome. It feels very solid and you can just feel how well its built. It has 6 LAN ports which is great. For some the standard 4 just isnt enough. It is pretty wide at 13 inches, but still had no issues putting it where my other router was.
Initial set up and installation is very easy using the Nighthawk app. Easy to follow instructions and I was up and running in about 10 minutes or so. If you dont want to get all into the settings and tweak things you can basically plug and play. But for those that want all the extra features and settings they are there. For me the most involved I get is port forwarding for gaming. And it was pretty straight forward and easy to get set up.
The performance of this router is absolutely outstanding. My previous set up required dual routers to be able to cover most of my home. With this I can use just the Nighthawk router and even get decent coverage in my front yard. Although my current internet service only allows for up to 180gbs I was easily getting that and more in most areas of the home. Recently I stopped using Direct TV and have gotten all my TV entertainment via streaming services. These of course require a good solid connection to avoid pauses and constant buffering. And with this even the more difficult apps ran with no issues at all. Nothing worse than watching a great movie in lowered resolutions, or having to stare at a circle circling while it catches up. Although I dont use these the router is also compatible with Alexa and Google assistant, which is a very cool feature that a lot of routers just dont have.
And as mentioned before this router is awesome for gaming. My PS5 and XBOX Series X both played online games very smooth with no delay for multi-player at all. Game installations and updates were also very fast. I also recently got back into Mario Kart on the switch with the new courses and multi-player there was rock solid as well.
In summary if you are looking for a router that does it all and does it well look no further. Easy set up, extremely solid coverage, fast speeds, ports a plenty, features for years to come this is a great choice. Netgear knocked it out of the park with this one. Highly recommended!

Great printer at a great price.
on August 20, 2022

This is my first Brother printer and I have to say I am very pleased. In a small affordable package it does all my printing needs and more!
In the box you of course get the printer, line cord, starter ink cartridges, the quick guide and some other papers. The printer itself is fairly compact and light and fits in with my other electronics and PC components. The initial set up is fast and simple with well done instructions. You can be up and printing in minutes. It has multiple options for connecting and printing. You can use Ethernet, Wi-Fi direct, or the good old fashioned USB. For me it of course depends on what and where I need to print from. More on that later.
The printer has a very nice color touchscreen that makes it very easy to get to all your settings and what you need done. Printing, scanning, copying, faxing and my favorite wireless printing. Before this the process of getting something from my phone printing was a hassle. Printing directly from my phone is so easy with this printer. Just sent it directly to the printer and its done in seconds. My other printer use to take forever making all kinds of noises before it would print. What was it doing? Anyway one click and the Brother has my printed page out and ready in seconds. Love it.
Changing cartridges is really easy as well. But ink is still too expensive it you ask me. I mean to get all your ink replaced you can pay up to half or more of the cost of the printer. But thats not the printers fault. Its that way across the board when it comes to ink replacement.
For the price you get a great printer that does pretty much all your standard household would need. Its so easy to set to and use, and prints really fast. I have 2 old printers Ill be throwing out now. Now I just need to find the cheapest ink I can get when I need more. But for now I am very happy with the Brother all in one. Like the name says it does it all. Recommended.

The Sub $500 smart phone market gets even better.
on August 8, 2022
Posted by: Nate34
Not so long ago you would have to spend flagship money to get flagship features. But in the last few years the mid price phones have gotten closer and closer to their more expensive brothers. And with the Google Pixel 6a this is no exception.
The box is pretty thin and initially I wasnt sure if it came with a charger like current iPhones and Galaxys are missing, and unfortunately I was right. It comes with the phone, a USB to C cable, and quick switch adapter for data transfers, and a sim card tool. I understand why companies are not including chargers (cost cutting), and they figure everyone has a house full of chargers and in my case they are right. But it would have been nice to include a Google fast charger.
Initial impressions of the phone itself is that its about the same width as my current phone (Galaxy S21+), but quite a bit shorter. I really like the feel in the hand. The slightly curved edges along the back feel good with no sharp corners or edges that get uncomfortable after awhile. Its pretty light as well. The back on the charcoal one looks nice, but the glossy finish does pick up fingerprints. Overall the build is excellent.
Before setting it up I was debating if I should start fresh, or use the data transfer tool to do a full data transfer. And this leads me to one of my only issues with this. The fact that it only has 128gb of total storage with no way to increase that. I know the days of SD card slots are long gone, but I feel all phones should have at least 256gb. My S21+ with 256gb is over half full, so even if I wanted to do a direct transfer I would have to delete a lot of stuff. So I decided to start fresh. For some this might be plenty of storage, for me I need more. But thankfully there are plenty of cloud options to back up your media out there to help with data if you have a lot of pics and/ or apps and games.
The initial set up is a breeze with Android and getting everything set up with my Verizon was a piece of cake. A few settings, choices, etc. and your good to go. The rest of the process is downloading the additional apps you want and getting them all set up. This can take hours if you have a lot of apps. But Ive gotten use to that.
One of the main draws to Pixel phones is the pure Android experience you get with no additional carrier or brand stuff. And of course you can expect new versions of the OS to be available to Pixels first. But despite it being a simpler version of Android there is still a ton of customizing to do. This is my main reason I have never even owned an iPhone and dont plan to. The ability to take a phone and completely redo everything the way I like is something Ill never give up.
The screen is very nice. The FHD+ means its 1080 x 2400. At this size 1080p is perfect. I dont see a need for UHD at this screen size. Everything is crystal clear and runs smooth. At 6.1” its a bit less tall than my other phone, but not small by any means. And with up to 60hz everything scrolls and moves nice and smooth. No choppiness or delays while rapidly scrolling.
The 4410mah battery lasts a full day with heavy use easily. And if you are light on usage its rated to go up to 72 hours using Extreme battery saver which makes it the perfect phone for the long haul. Unfortunately the 6a does not have wireless charging. But after using it awhile on phones in the past, and how much faster wired charging has gotten I stopped using wireless charging awhile back.
Another thing Pixel phones are known for is their camera systems, and again the Pixel 6a is no exception. Excellent photo and video quality. And the new camera translate is a really cool feature. I also prefer hole punch selfie cameras vs. any sort of notch system. And again it takes really nice selfies as well. And both cameras have plenty of settings and features to tinker with to get your photos perfect. I do miss the unlimited photo storage. But I never thought that could last forever through all their Pixel phones. But again with the plethora of cloud storage options out there this isnt a deal breaker.
Call quality and messaging is also great on the Pixel 6a. I had no issues with dropped calls, or people not hearing me or vice versa. And Googles messaging app is top notch.
The fingerprint scanner on the 6a works great. Almost instant unlock. But this is also a feature on phones I never use because no one ever touches my phone other than me. But when needed its a great feature that the 6a nailed.
Overall I would say the Google Pixel 6a is one of the best sub $500 phones you can get. You get the Pixel experience, fast and current updates, amazing pictures, awesome performance, all day battery life, and a lot more for less than half of the current flagship offerings. Very highly recommended.

A lot of scoot for your loot
on August 7, 2022
Posted by: Nate34
Ive recently gained more and more interest in the E-Scoot/ E-Bike craze thats going on and I know now why its so popular. For some its a cheap way to get to work, for others another form of recreation. And the latter is what I use mine for. Im not exactly a small guy. I weigh 240+ so I have to always consider that when shopping, and thankfully this fits that perfectly. Capable of supporting up to 265lbs allows me to know Im not terribly overtaxing the motor. But of course weight affects speed so this for me is a bit of motivation to lose some weight. Ill go faster. But its no slouch. Rated at up to 15 it takes awhile but I do eventually get there. But one thing I have noticed with all these E-vehicles, the MPH on the display is usually 2-3mph faster than its actually going. Either way its fast enough! It does struggle a bit on inclines but unless your willing to spend more most of these in this price range have that issue as well. It is rated up to 16 miles of range, so it would work on a very short local commute. But I usually start to think about heading home at around mile 8 or so because you always have to be planning that range as including your trip home unless you want to carry or roll it. But thankfully it folds up very nice and is very light at about 26lbs. But even at that weight you would be getting pretty tired carrying it after awhile.
The build quality is great and solid. When something is cheap you really feel it when you hit bumps, etc. and with this I can tell it has a solid build and design. I like the simplicity of the display as well. You get just enough info without everything being cluttered. Great design. The initial set up is a great way to also understand your folding mechanisms. Following the well laid out instructions and you can be up and riding in about 15 minutes. Probably less, but I like to check nuts and bolts, tires, etc. before I risk jumping on anything. And with this I had no loose nuts or bolts, or other issues that might affect things as far as safety goes. The initial charge can take up to several hours depending on what the battery level is at when you get it. But after charging, assembling everything it was ready to go.
As far as features it goes it has an LED display, head and tail lights, really cool and bright deck lighting, and cruise control. One thing I wish it had was the option to turn off the kick start feature. I know this is a safety feature and I think thats perfect for beginners. But it would be nice if there was a way to have “throttle start”. But thats a minor thing. The other features more than make up for that.
Overall I would say if you are in the market for a good sub $500 scooter with just enough speed and range, safety features, etc. this should fit the bill. Like I said in the title. You get plenty scoot for your loot.

Great performance at a great price
on July 31, 2022
Posted by: Nate34
If you are looking for a great gaming laptop at an affordable price this should be on your short list.
The laptop itself is built very solid. Feels a bit on the heavy side, but that is to be expected with everything that is packed into it. I really like this screen size as well. Its the perfect spot for me, and when not on the go I connect it to my Sony TV as a monitor for 55” gaming goodness. I really like the look as well. Solidly built, with strong materials. It also has all the usual connectivity. Plenty of USB ports along with the HDMI.
The unboxing and initial set up are a breeze with how easy it is to get going in Windows 11. Add your account, connect, follow the instructions, update, and youre ready to go. Gone are the days of complicated installs and getting things transferred.
Before the gaming aspect as just a normal laptop it is great. Ive finally gotten better at getting around in Windows 11 and this does all the “normal” stuff great. Browsing, videos, documents, etc. Great performance, especially with the 512gb SSD. Boots up in a flash. Once you have an SSD in your PC youll never want to go back to the standard hard drive.
It has a FHD screen, in other words 1920 X 1080 and that is perfect for me. Im still someone that doesnt really notice the difference between FHD and UHD until its on a very large screen. And this screen is no exception. Combined with the 144hz refresh rate the performance is great. I noticed no tearing or other issues. Just smooth sweet gaming and PC goodness.
Sound is pretty good as well. There is only so much you can get out of smaller speakers, but they do their job well. I will probably connect to an external source, but for now I had no issues with the overall sound quality.
As far as the keyboard goes I use to never think I would care about a backlit keyboard. But with this I am starting to think its on my required list. The backlight really helps, especially as you get use to the layout. And speaking of the layout its great. I love that it includes all of the keys, etc. of my main keyboard without skipping any. Typing is great with good tactical feedback and ease of use.
And of course the gaming performance. The Intel i5-11400H and the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050Ti - , combined with the 512GB SSD make for an awesome gaming experience. It handled all the games tested and played with no frame drops, or any other noticeable issues. The 8gb of RAM is adequate, but if you want to you can upgrade to 16gb and make sure that aspect of your build is all set.
Overall I would say this is a great gaming laptop for someone on a budget that wants great performance at a decent price. It works perfect as a regular laptop, with the addition of it being a great gaming laptop as well. Definitely recommend.

Great security system, easy to use, 2 way audio
on May 24, 2022
Posted by: Nate34
Lately we have been getting a lot of uninvited people ringing our bell. So not only does this system secure our house its great as a screening tool as well. In the box you get the 2TB hard drive, HDMI cable, 4 of the 12MP enforcer bullet cameras, a mouse, mounting screws, power adapter, theft deterrent stickers, and operating instructions. So everything you need is all here in one complete package.
Setup and installation is fairly easy if you just take your time and follow the instructions. I find with projects like these having your install planned out in advance helps a lot. Using the app and going step by step it was no problem at all. If you have experience running Ethernet wires and cables you should have no issues with this. It comes with everything you will need.
One of the features I like the most is the 2 way audio. If you have someone at your door and arent too sure about opening it you can speak to them and see who they are and what they want. Its a lot easier to just say no thanks through the speaker then in person. The cameras themselves have excellent quality 12MP Ultra HD video with plenty of width to even see a lot of the yard as well, all the way to the sidewalk. Even at night the color is good with illumination. You can also have them set up so that they will flash if triggered hopefully scaring away any unwanted visitors at night.
And the cameras are very solidly built and full weatherproof so even in rain and snow they will be fine. And since they are made of metal and not the commonly used plastic they should last a long time.
The 2TB hard drive is great as well. Thats plenty of space to record back several days just in case you need to review something. Reviewing old footage has lots of different options and features we well as transferring footage to another drive if you want to clear up the 2TB drives space but not lose older footage.
Overall I am very happy with the Swann system. Its fairly easy to install and set up. The hard drive has plenty of space. The cameras are weatherproof and metal, and have excellent imaging with 12MP Ultra HD video. The system has all the features you will need and then some. And along with the peace of mind you get like I said before you can “screen” people at your door and not answer if you dont want to. And it comes with everything you will need to get protected. Greatly recommended.

As beautifully elegant as it is rugged the Aventure is the most powerful and versatile ebike we~ve ever designed. With a front suspension fork, fat tires, and exceptional handling you can be sure of the most comfortable ride across whichever terrain your spirit chooses, whilst built in fenders and integrated front and rear lights ensure that wherever you go you~ll be both seen by others and protected from the terrain beneath you. While the Aventure ships as a class II ebike, it can be configured into a class III with its high capacity battery and powerful rear hub motor. Topping it off with its color display that syncs to the new Aventon app means that this bike is first in its class and packed full of the technological innovation required for it to stand up to the test of time.

Rekindle that feeling of biking as a kid!!!
on January 30, 2022
Posted by: Nate34
from Northbay, Ca.
Age:45-54
Gender:Male
Unboxing:
The box the bike comes in is 59”x33”x15” and weighs about 92lbs. So be prepared because the box is rather large and heavy. Removing the bike should be done with 2 people, but I did not have that option so I did it like this. I started by removing the accessory boxes, the upper styrofoam protective inserts, and cut the zip ties holding the front wheel to the bike. I removed the front wheel and then laid a thick blanket down for protection, then laid the box flat and slid the bike out. It would have been a lot easier with 2 people so if you have that option I recommend it. Since you can charge the battery while it is disconnected from the bike I planned on having it charge while I assembled it. So I cut the zip ties holding the keys, disconnected the battery, and unboxed the charger and charger cable. You can check the batteries level by pressing the button on the battery. The LED was blue indicating it was somewhere between 33% to 90% full (more on this later). I connected the battery and started the charging. The initial charge took about 2 hours and 15 minutes.
Whats included:
In the box is the Aventon E-Bike, 3 amp charger and charging cable, left and right pedals, user manual, front and rear reflectors, bike grease for the pedals threads, A 15mm/ 19mm wrench combo, and a hex key set with 2,3,4,5,6mm hex and flathead and cross type screwdriver. These are high quality tools that can be used many times (unlock your standard throwaway tools that some things come with). There was also an extra set of screws, and Aventure spare parts including an extra derailleur hanger, extra bolts and washers.
Assembly:
For the assembly I laid everything out on a table so it would all be organized. I used the Aventon Aventure Youtube assembly video to get it all put together. I closely followed the video and went step by step. Everything went fine. I did take awhile to get the front wheel aligned so that it didnt rub the disc brake pads. Other than that it was pretty easy. Anyone with general bike knowledge and mechanical ability should have no issues. It took me a couple hours because while assembling I also adjusted things to my liking and my size. Shortly after assembly the battery was at 100% so I was ready to go.
Bike and app set up:
I installed the battery, long pressed the battery button until it was on, then long pressed the power button on the control and the main display turned on. I then downloaded the app from the Google play store on my Galaxy S21 plus. Created an account then signed in. The first step was pairing the bike so I clicked “pair”, then the app said please choose your display, but the screen was blank. I had to back out and do that step again then an icon showed up looking like the Aventons display. Once that was done the bikes display showed a QR code. I scanned that and again it took awhile but eventually it connected and asked for a bike nick name. All the steps took 10-20 seconds or so so if it seems like it isnt working just wait out it and it should work. It connected via Bluetooth then the app showed my bike with a lot of ride info such as total cycle time, odometer, calories, max speed, average speed, and total C02 reduced. So you have quite a bit of info and statistics which makes using the app worth it if you need that type of information. After getting all this set up it was ready to go.
The Bike/ Ride:
After assembly I went through and checked it over again. One of the things I noticed of course was how much heavier this is than a standard bike. It weighs about 4 times that of the last mountain bike I had. So this takes some getting use to. The bike itself is rated at allowing up to a 300lb rider. This is nice because a lot of the competition doesnt go this high. I weigh about 240lbs and am 5”11” so the bike I got was the medium/ large. I initially wanted a step over but got a step through instead and glad I did. It is so much easier to get mounted and riding with a step through frame. Especially as I get older. It has very nice Velo locking grips that feel very comfortable with no slip. It has hydraulic brakes vs. mechanical which are so much more powerful and easy to use, especially on a bike this heavy. The bike stops very well even at top speed. Once you have had a bike with hydraulic brakes going back to mechanical brakes just isnt an option. The Zoom suspension forks are solid with lockouts and preload adjustments so you can adjust the preload. Along with the nice Kenda 4" fat tires they absorb shock from bumps, rocks, etc. and you always feel in full control no matter the surface. The front tire is a bolt on and not a quick release. It would have been nice to have a quick release so you can remove tire for storing, putting in trunks, and locking everything up if you go in a coffee shop, etc. As well as if you end up needing to change a flat, so bringing a wrench along is highly recommended. And the wrench it comes with is perfect for that. It has very nice wide metal front and rear fenders to keep all the gunk away from you and the important parts of the bike. The kickstand is very sturdy despite how heavy the bike is. It never felt like it might tip over. The shifters and derailleurs are all Shimano branded and work perfect. Very smooth up and down shifting. The seat is nice and plush and the seat post is quick release. So adjusting the seats height and centering is quick and easy. Ever since I had a job where I was assembling generators that required a high level of cable management that has become a peave I have, and on the Aventure they nailed it. Everything is attached and ran in a way that none of the wires or cables get in the way or bind. Some run through the frame and are totally out of the way. Great job there. The bike has a left handed lever type thumb throttle. Im also a motorcycle rider so I wasnt sure how I would react to this since I am use to a motor cycles standard right handed twist throttle. But I very quickly got use to this and actually prefer this on electric scooters or E-Bikes. Although if you use the throttle a lot your thumb can get a bit tired. The handlebars have plenty of extra room to install a cell phone holder as well as an additional light or other accessory. I installed a phone mount so I could monitor the app as well as the main display as I go. Riding an E-Bike for the first time took awhile to get use to. Having the pedal assist kick in while your pedaling was a bit awkward at first. But after using it on different levels and just riding I got use to it and see how great it really is. With the power of the motor you can go on a lot longer rides, and conquer hills that you would normally shy away from. And for those that want to know speeds my top speed on pavement was 20.5 mph which is its rated speed. And this is with a 240lb rider. So despite me being a bit on the heavy side it still hit its rated speed. I used the app to unlock the top speed, but that does not change the throttles speed, it only changes how much higher of a speed you can get with your own pedaling. Its rated at up to 53 miles of range at pedal assist level 1 and going 11mph.
Display and display control:
The display control has 5 buttons on it. Power on/ off, pedal assist level up or down, and a dedicated button for the front LED light, and the center “I” button to get into other areas of the display and bike settings. Long pressing the “I” button goes into the main menu where you can clear trip date, change screen brightness, set unit, get system info, and lastly connect to app. This is where you go to get the app connected to the bike. The backlit display is very sharp and plenty bright even in sunlight. And
it will automatically adjust brightness to a dimmer setting if you turn on the front light, then go back to brighter if you turn it off since you need it brighter to see in the daylight. The display itself shows you just the right amount of required info. Current battery level, speed, current pedal assist level, a trip meter, and the estimated mileage left.
Charging:
The battery can be charged while on the bike or off. It has its own off/ on button with an LED color indicator that lets you know the current charge level. Blue = 90%-100%, Green = 33%-90%, and Red =
0%-33%. I would have preferred that Green was 90-100 since green is usually the color used to indicate a full battery, but once you know its no big deal. The initial charge took a bit over 2 hours. Turning off the display does not also turn off the battery. So you have to press that to turn it off separately.
Final thoughts:
This is my first E-Bike and I now know why they are so popular. Ive been a bike person since I was a kid. One of my most fondest moments was when my mom gave me $500 as a gift (this was a big deal since we were fairly poor), and she said I could get anything I wanted. (Legally that is). I knew right away what I wanted to do. So the morning after I walked to my local bike shop and bought my dream bike. I had the mechanic swap this part, and that part until it was perfect. Anyway this has brought a bit of that feeling back. So whether you have always wanted an E-bike, or just want to get back into biking this is the way to go. Perfect despite me getting on in years and looking to rekindle that hobby as well as lose some weight. It can go anywhere and do pretty much anything, and with the extra power of the motor you can conquer areas and go places you just might not haven been able to in the past. Highly recommend the Aventon Aventure E-Bike!!

Great picture and Android TV = Awesome
on November 2, 2021

I hadnt even thought of that has an option with previous projectors (Android TV) included. But what a great idea. Android TV is my favorite smart platform and its what I use on my TV as well. The app options are endless although I stick to my favorites mainly. Netflix, HBO, and Youtube. But there are many more to choose from.
Getting everything set up was fairly easy. Its not very heavy which is nice. In the box you of course get the 2250 projector, power cord, remote, remote batteries, and a quick set up guide. The guide is easy to follow and after a few clicks and adjustments you are up and running with Android TV. Right away I entered my credentials for Netflix and was able to test things.
The picture is 1080p and looks great. I have never thought I needed 4K, and this proved it for me. Some people swear by it. I do notice a slight difference between the two, but its never bothered me. So 1080p is plenty for me. And the picture quality on this is great. Its plenty bright at 2700 lumens and having a 70000:1 contrast ratio makes for a crisp clean picture that looks great. Of course there are plenty of settings to tweak to your hearts desire. I usually pick a something in the middle, not over saturated like Dynamic usually looks. And of course you can connect game consoles as well to game.
The projector itself has a lamp life of 6000 hours (12000 in economy mode). So wont be worrying about a new lamp for a long time. And replacing the lamp is fairly easy and the manual gives you easy step by step with pictures so no need to worry about that when that day comes. I know a lot of people dont talk about manuals or guides much, but I thought this deserved a mention. The online manual is great. Even has a search bar. So for example I wanted to see how easy (or hard) it was to change the lamp so I searched it. And thats where I came upon the step by step. So you can look up anything you need to easily. This takes away some of the anxiety of using and maintaining a new product.
Overall I love this new projector with Android TV. You get a great picture with the convenience of Android TV all in one. Highly recommended if youre in the market for a projector and want the convenience of built in Android TV as well. Best smart platform out there in my opinion.

Great add-on to the Surface. Closer to a laptop

Ive always heard great things about the Surface keyboards and now I know why. They take an already great tablet and bring it very close to an awesome laptop. I really like how Microsoft gives you plenty of color options to choose from as well. So you can match your tablets color. The keyboard itself has an awesome build. Very solid. It connects to the tablet solidly and doesnt wobble or come loose. I love how the pen magnetically attaches and also charges it. And the pen itself is great if you want to try out drawing and more.
The best part for me is the typing. Normally when I switch to a new keyboard it takes awhile to get use to it. But this has the perfect “feel” to it. The trackpad is easy to use as well. And when your not using it it all folds together like a laptop would. This is a must have add-on to the Surface tablet. It makes an already awesome tablet a great little laptop.

Excellent TV!
By Faceman from Saint Paul, MN
I bought this TV after comparing several TVs at my local Best Buy store, and was a little hesitant since there were no reviews of it online yet since it is brand new. But after comparing a few options, I decided on this one and am so glad I did. The picture quality is outstanding, and I would say it is on par with some others that are quite a bit more expensive. The sound quality seems good as well. It has three HDMI inputs as well as a USB input (in addition to the other standard inputs), which is nice since some in this price range had fewer inputs. It was really easy to set up, and I'm very happy that I purchased this TV. The only negative at all is if you need more details from the user guide, the included set up instructions refer you to go online to the Sharp website, but this TV is so new that the user guide is not yet online. That wasn't a major problem since set up was really easy and settings are very straight forward. I would definitely buy this TV again if I was looking for another and recommend it to anybody.

Hello. Im still trying to get a new set after our huge earthquake in Napa, Ca. My nice 50" Samsung plasma bit the bullet. Ive been trying to find one that has a PC input since I use it to attach my laptop as well as others. And it seems like its so rare to see a pc input as well as more than 2 HDMI. And I see that this set has both.Still happy with it?

Great Laptop
By techjunkie07
I purchased this laptop a few days ago and man do I love it. This computer has everything I was looking for in a laptop (expect for an SSD) however I felt I could live without it considering the price for this machine. I have never owned an Acer always HP, had it for 7 years and it was time for an upgrade. I do really like this laptop fast, beautiful design and enough ports not to mention the PRICE again you wont be disappointed.

Should be at the top of your TV shopping list!!
By Nate34 from North Bay Area, Ca.
When I started TV shopping I did a lot of research and at first bought the 55” KS8000. I liked that but when the KS9000 went on sale I exchanged it for that. One of the main reasons I went with the 9000 was the design (mainly the stand). On the 55” version of the 8000 the legs are about 44” apart. My stand that I have been using for years for several TV's is only 42” wide. So I had to use a large piece of wood on top of my stand just to be able to set up the 8000. This didnt really look all that great, and I didnt want to have to replace my stand with a wider one. And thankfully the 9000 has a more standard V shaped stand that fits and works great on my TV stand.
And the 9000 also has some improved specs and also looks better in my opinion. I didnt really like the glossy back of the 8000. Anyway I really love this TV. Ive had several Samsungs, and my last set was the JU7100. But decided it was time to upgrade. I dont really miss the lack of 3D because I think I literally only used it once on my 7100 to test it. And I do believe 3D is on its way to being extinct. Anyway the new thing now of course is HDR. And the KS9000 really takes advantage of that. It simply looks amazing. There are several Netflix shows that show what HDR is all about. And I also recently bought the new XBOX ONE S. Ive yet to buy an HDR Bluray, but I will soon. But as I mentioned there is plenty of HDR on Netflix and Amazon Video in the meantime.
One of the really cool new features this years Samsung TV's has its the new Tizen system. It is much more simple and streamlined this year. My favorite feature so far is how well the TV detects whatever device you are connecting and names it accordingly. I have a PS3, PS4, XBOX ONE, 360, and a PC laptop all connected to my TV. And it names them all without me having to do anything. The PS3 and PS4 are both automatically labeled as “Playstation”. And the XBOX One and 360 are both labeled by their full names each. I didnt have to type out names like I have before when customizing my input names. As you can tell I have a lot of things connected to my TV. And since it has 4 HDMI ports I use 2 HDMI 3 way splitters. They automatically switch to whatever source is powered on. So my system is set up like this:
HDMI 1 = Direct TV
HDMI 2 = PS3 and PS4
HDMI 3 = XBOX ONE S
HDMI 4 = PC, Wii U, and XBOX 360
The reason I am listing these all out is because I want to add how smart this TV is. It switches the settings, input name, and device type on HDMI 4 on its own depending on whichever one is powered on. And I have different settings for PC and the Wii U and 360. I use to have to manually switch the input type every time I went from one to the other. But when I power off a device it automatically switches all the settings and input types on its own.
Of course a review of a TV without talking about picture quality isnt complete so here we go. Simply put its amazing. The colors and picture are awesome. It also has very good motion handling, especially if you set Auto Motion plus to Auto. But this gives you the dreaded SOE (Soap Opera Effect). Which I really dont care for. So I use a custom setting for Auto Motion (Blur 3, Judder 3, and LED Clear Off). This gives it very good motion handling with very little SOE.
As you read above I am a gamer. And one of the main things I look for when TV shopping is the input lag (or lack thereof). And this is one of the best TV's released this year for low input lag. In Game mode the lag is only 20.5 ms. This is great, I dont notice any lag at all. I was also thinking of getting the Sony X930D but decided not to for a few reasons, one of those is that it has about 54ms of lag. This isnt terrible, but would be noticeable in my opinion.
The other main reason I went with the Samsung over the Sony is that I am still not sold on the Android Smart platform. I tested it on a 2015 Sony and it was just too buggy. I have read it is better this year, but in my opinion the new Tizen is much better.
Another thing I look for in TV's is a good USB media player for videos on hard drives. And Im happy to say that the Samsung recognizes and plays every single file type I have tested. It also has SRT subtitle support.
So overall I am very happy with this TV. It is by far the nicest set I have ever owned and I look forward to years of use with it. If you are looking for a new HDR 4K TV this should be on the top of your list. If you want a cheaper alternative go with the KS8000. Just be aware on the 55” version of the 44” wide legs. On the larger versions the 8000 has optional closer leg mounts, but for some reason Samsung did not do this on the 55” version. Anyway thanks for reading. If you have any questions or comments feel free. Ill try to answer and respond.

Im the review writer, needed to add info.

The one issue I am having is that the source list and its icons go blank every couple days, sometimes more. This is a known issue and apparently Samsung is looking into it. As a work around you can hold down the power button on the remote to force it to reboot. This brings the source list back, but its still an issue. Its only the upper source list, the lower one doesnt go away. If you own the set you'll know what I mean by the upper one. Thankfully this is an issue that can be fixed via firmware update, but as of 1131 (9-23-16) it still happens. If it gets fixed Ill try to update my review.

Battery question
November 3, 2016
I know these have better battery life than the previous gens but have you had them actually run out on you? I have 2 sets of Gen 2's now that I just swap out when one headset dies and then start charging it. I use my A50's for all my TV audio not just gaming so they run out after about 5 hours or so, so Im hoping that the Gen 3's will always have enough battery to get through the day as long as I set them back on the charger when not using them. Thanks

Great headset
By Anthony
I have owned A40s and currently own a pair of last gen A50s. The new A50s make a lot of great improvements over last gen. No chat cable is great and the docking station acts as an external sound card for the PC and does not require an optical cable for full 7.1 which is awesome. Audio quality seems to be better that the old A50s. I would occasionally get some low buzzing noise in the old model but the new ones are crisp and have no such issues so far. Battery life is significantly improved and the auto shut off is a welcome addition(the headset senses that it has been put down and shuts off after 15 seconds. Once it senses it have been moved it turns right back on. Usually the audio is already coming in by the time I put it on my head). Build quality is super solid. Expensive but they sound great and are a quality product. I am not wild about the color scheme but I can deal with it.

If so, will cox cable recognize a second modem? In other words, must I pay more and register a second Modem with them?
NO, you dont need 2 modems. All you need is 1 modem, and a wireless router. Then set up the wireless on the router, then any device that has internet can connect to the router by searching for wireless and entering your password.
