My First Racing Wheel, tons of fun and immersion
on August 27, 2020

Ive been a gamer for over 30 years and have tried all kinds of controllers and attachments but never gave a racing wheel a try until now. Ive always thought it would be a cool and fun way to play and get even more immersed into a game and I was right. With the G923 its made racing games so much more fun and realistic.
The build quality is amazing. Beautiful leather wrapped wheel, metal and aluminum with blue accents. Brushed metal with dials, controls, and buttons all in a very intuative location that doesnt take very long to get used to. A build in rev indicator front and center to monitor your RPM's. It just looks and feels awesome.
The pedals have a perfect feel and resistance with accurate response. The wheel has great feedback and haptic vibration with its Trueforce technology that gives you the feeling of the road conditions that of course change depending on road surfaces. The whole experience was much more than I thought it would be. I was expecting a more realistic driving experience but didnt expect it to be so much so. Im not sure how it was all done, but its pretty awesome. And most games have adjustable settings specifically for wheels so you can tweak them to your liking. For example Dirt Rally 2.0 and Grid.
I wasnt much of a racing game player before this. I mean before this I only had played a couple arcade games that had wheels and pedals, but now am looking forward to playing several more titles as more become available and supported. I think my next game will be a mostly onroad game like Gran Turismo with the insane realistic graphics to match the realism of playing on the G923. And now you can get that experience at home with your home console or PC. If you want to get the most out of your racing games this is the way to go.

Great for getting the tough stains cleaned
on June 28, 2020

I used this along with my Hoover Smartwash pet deep cleaner. It really comes in handy for getting to the tougher spots that have sat awhile. We recently had one of our 3 dogs spayed and had to keep the other 2 separated. So we had the one that just had the surgery stay inside which of course caused a few accidents. Well with the spot chaser it was easy to pretreat the stains, then use the Hoover Smartwash to get it cleaned fully.
Now of course this isnt the only use. Any stain such as wine, (coffee in my case), and more can be pretreated to ensure you get everything up once the spot chaser has had a chance to do its thing. Its very easy to use with the Hoover smartwashers spot chaser wand. Combining these 2 makes getting even the most tough stains out. Great addition to my already awesome Hoover smartwash system. Highly recommended for pets, and well everything else also!

Feel like a kid again riding this thing
on May 9, 2020
Posted by: Nate34
from North Bay Area, Ca.
The short review is this. Anything that can give me that childhood grin that reminds me of when I got a new bike as a kid is well worth it. And the Bird scooter is no exception. This is my first electric vehicle and I must pay its a blast.
It was very easy to get rolling since it is almost fully assembled with very minor and easy set up to get up and going. You get everything you need in the box to get riding fairly quickly (Pun intended). Attach a part and start charging. Couldnt be easier. No complicated instructions or small parts everywhere to keep track of. The manual is well written with easy to follow steps with enough info to get you going without overloading you with too much. While charging its time to download the app, create an account, and pair it to your scooter. Had no major issues here connecting my Samsung phone. The app is well set up and easy to follow with a nice layout and plenty of features.
After charging it was time to ride. Thankfully I had a bike helmet already so I was ready to go. It is so easy to learn and ride with controls that are second nature for the most part since they are similar to how a kids scooter rides with brakes and controls that couldnt be easier. I wasnt expecting it to be as fast as it is. But it really gets going. I mean I have a 2018 Suzuki GSXS 750 so I know theres really no comparison. But when you are upright like that it just feels faster. This is where my childhood grin kicked in. It is just plain fun, no other way to describe it.
I was able to take a few nice long rides without ever even getting close to running out of juice. But just in case I always just reconnected to the charger when I got home so it would be full and ready to roll again next time.
Maintenance is pretty straight forward. Just keep it clean, dry, and charged and you should be good to go for a long time. Time will tell as far as reliability, etc. So far so good with first electric vehicle. I wasnt too sure about how well something that runs on a battery would perform. Ive been one that didnt every think Id get an electric car. Not there theres much comparison but its opened my eyes a bit to that possibility in the future. Love this Bird scooter and am looking forward to my next ride, and the next, etc. etc.

Proof you dont need to spend a lot for a great TV!
on April 22, 2020
Posted by: Nate34
from North Bay Area, Ca.
This is my first Hisense TV and I am amazed at how much TV you can get without having to break the bank. Up until this TV Ive always stuck with other brands assuming that the saying “you get what you pay for” is always the case. Now that is true of a lot of things but with TV's and how fast the tech improves the lower priced sets have began to catch up to the more expensive models and its great for us the consumers.
In the box you of course get the TV, remote, leg stands, batteries, some hardware, and a quick start guide. Mine is the 55” version which is the perfect size for my main TV I use in my room. Its replacing a few year old 55” LED set I had. Getting set up was simple. Installing the legs then placing set where you want it. With the way my room is situated its easier to use the legs vs. a wall install. One of the features this has is 2 sets of slots for the legs at different widths depending on the available space you have. I have a very wide stand so Im able to use the outer slots. But for people with less stand room you can use the inner slots. This is a simple yet awesome feature that I wish more TV's had.
Next of course is connecting all your equipment. For me thats my Direct TV receiver, 3 consoles, and my laptop via HDMI. I have an HDMI switcher I use since I have 5 things connected to the 4 built in HDMI ports. I also use an Astro A50 headset as my main audio source so thats connected to the optical audio port. And then I prefer wired internet connections so thats connected to the Ethernet port. From there its as simple as turning on the set and going through the initial set up.
The remote is very simple and well laid out with shortcut buttons to most of the often used apps. The often used Home button is centered and easy to find once you get used to the remote. It comes with the required batteries which is nice. It also has voice commands which work perfect. I use only Android phones so there was no learning curve to get use to the built in Google assistant. It works just like my phone does. With the TV I had before using a different voice assistant I was never able to get the voice search to work right. So I got use to not using it at all. But now that I have one that actually works it has become my new way to control the TV for the most part. Only thing I could think of to improve the remote would be a back light, but thats a minor thing that I would maybe add to a wish list.
This is only my 2nd TV using Android Smart TV, and WOW has it improved. The first time I used it was several years ago on a different brand TV when it was in its early versions and had its issues. Its been improved greatly since then. Everything works as it should and fast. Apps have very little load time and only occasionally lag if Ive had several apps open prior. But this is rare and it only lags for a second or 2 if it happens. And since it has the Android system there are a TON of apps and games to use and experiment with. Although my fallbacks are Netflix and Prime its nice that there are so many others to test out.
As mentioned I also have 3 gaming consoles connected, and I use my TV to game a lot. I have a PS4 Pro, an Xbox One X, and a Nintendo Switch connected to it. Gaming is great on this set. I was a bit worried at first that since it was only a 60hz native set with 240 motion rate that this would be a noticeable difference vs. my previous set that has a 120hz native display. But I cant see any difference at all. The built in game mode makes a huge difference when on. It plays perfect, has no noticeable input lag, and looks amazing. Ive been playing my Switch a lot due to the recent situation and the bright Nintendo colors POP! Recently started a new play through of Breath of the Wild and it looks and plays great.
As mentioned previously I use an Astro A50 headset for all my TV's audio output, but the built in audio is pretty good. I know most people will want a soundbar or a full surround system. But if you are only using the TV's built in audio its pretty good. Its definetely loud enough and didnt distort even at a volume much higher than needed. The Dolby audio will be plenty for most people.
Now of course we have to talk about the picture. And I saved that for last for a reason. WOW. This is my first set with true full array local dimming and Dolby vision & HDR 10. I really use to think my other TV was where it was at as far as picture quality. But this is much better. Especially the black levels. Watching Netflix HDR content is amazing. But even standard HD content from my Direct TV receiver looks better as well. And this just proves what I said in the title. You no longer have to take out a small loan to get an amazing TV with a great picture.
So in conclusion I love this TV if you cant tell. This has made me realize that sometimes you really are just paying extra for the brands name and you can get the same and in someways better performance and picture for less than some of the larger more well known brands. If you area looking for a TV with great performance, picture, and features that doesnt cost a small fortune this should be one on your list.

Can finally keep up with our 3 Corgi's!
on April 11, 2020

from North Bay Area, Ca.
This cleaner was used with the Hoover Smartwash system. And wow what a difference. We have 3 Corgi/ Corgi mixes that dont have the best potty behaviour to put it mildly. We have been looking for some way to clean and maintain our carpets without always having to contact a cleaner to come to our house. And this is especially important these days. So we were very happy to give this cleaner a shot.
Using the Hoover Smartwash system this cleaner works awesome. Not only does it clean and make the carpets smell so much better, but it helps prevent future stains. And the bottle has a lot in it so it will last for months of use. I didnt have any idea how dirty and smelly our carpets were until after a proper clean. You kind if get use to it. Well now I know not to let it get to that point. And with this formula and the Hoover system I wont need to.
Very happy with the product. Its so nice to be able to clean our carpets ourselves now. The house looks and smells so much better. And wasnt hard to do at all. Great stuff!

Perfect for keeping up with our 3 Corgi's!
on April 11, 2020
Posted by: Nate34
from North Bay Area, Ca.
Unfortunately our 3 dogs arent angels when it comes to doing the deeds where they are suppose to. We have 3 dogs. One is a full blooded Corgi, and 2 Chihuahua Corgi mix. None were trained when we got them to go outside properly. They have full access to our backyard via doggie doors that do get used. But inevitably they will mess up pretty much daily between the 3. So we have needed something to combat that and we found it here with the Hoover Smartwash Pet Complete Automatic Carpet Cleaner.
In the box you get the carpet cleaner with tanks, removable wand, pet tool, an 8 foot accessory hose, storage bag, and 2 bottles of cleaner stain solution. One bottle is a trial size of OXY spot chaser for pretreating. The other was a trial bottle of the Deep clean neutralize. Set up was very simple and all the parts snap together easily. Then depending on what you want to do (clean or pretreat stains) you just fill the tank with warm water, then fill the solution tank with solution. For us there were several stains we wanted to pretreat before cleaning. This was very easy to do with the cleaner and the included OXY pretreat solution and wand.
After that it was onto to a full deep cleaning using the deep clean formula. Just a word of warning this is not a regular vacuum and its necessary to fully vacuum the floor prior to any cleaning to keep it running correctly. So after a full vacuum of all our carpets it was onto cleaning. This is very easy and doesnt require a lot of work. Push to clean, pull to dry. Couldnt be easier. And along with the pretreating of some trouble spots I was amazed at how good this thing works. No more needing to rent machines, or hire expensive cleaners to come out to clean our carpets. Especially during this time of the virus and social distancing. The carpets not only looked so much better, but the smell was gone also. Unfortunately you eventually get use to stinky carpets and dont really notice it until you either leave the house for awhile, or after it gets cleaned well and you notice the difference.

Maintance on this is fairly easy as well. After use its recommended to remove all the excess fluids so it wont leak all over the place. And this will also just keep it in better shape. Its simple to remove the nozzle to rinse it as well. Just releases and then rinse it sink. Same goes for the brushes. Just remove and rinse. If you do all these as well as making sure its dry before storing it it should be good to go and ready the next unfortunately inevitable time you need it.

So to summarize I am very happy with the Hoover Smartwash system. Its very affordable, works great, and pays for itself after a few washes vs. hiring someone to do it. If you have pets and carpet this is a great way to maintain your houses cleanliness.

Great performance at an even greater price
on December 10, 2019
Posted by: Nate34
from North Bay Area, Ca.
The Dell G3 gaming laptop gives you all you need to get great gaming on the go. In the box you get the laptop of course, power adapter, and manual. Set up is easy as usual with Windows 10. The build quality is great despite the plastic. It does not however feel cheap. Its very solid with a strong hinge and has a nice feel to the coating.
The screen is very nice and doesnt bend. The display is 1080p and 60Hz which for me is perfect for a laptop. I can hardly tell the difference between 1080p and 4k on smaller screens anyway, so this was just right. Its not the brightest display but works perfect unless you are directly facing a bright light or the sun. 60Hz is perfect for all the games I played. And I never noticed any delay, lag, or anything of the sort. It also has HDMI out which when connected to my Samsung Q6 looked amazing.
The keyboard works well overall and is backlit which I have grown to actually want for all my keyboards. Good feedback and was able to type just as fast as my favorite wireless keyboard. It has a full numeric pad as well.
Performance is outstanding considering its cost. It has a 512gb SSD with very fast startup time. All of the standard PC things such as browsers, email, videos, etc. all work very fast and fluid. No issues at all there. But of course being a gaming laptop thats what its all about and it does not dissappoint. Gaming is excellent, fast, fluid, and has great performance. Like I said before its only 1080p but its so hard to tell the difference to me, so spending more for a 4k display just isnt worth it until you get to larger screens. The fans do get a bit loud but I always use headphones so this doesnt bother me too much. Id rather have loud fans keeping it cool then it overheating. Battery life is pretty good and with normal use I got about 3-4 hours.
So to sum it all up you get an excellent gaming laptop without emptying you wallet. It has just the right specs to perform great without adding to the cost so much that it gets too expensive. The 1080p 60Hz display looks and performs great. And for all the normal (non gaming) PC stuff it has you covered. If you are looking at getting into laptop gaming, or already are and just want a great performing laptop at an even greater price this is a great option.

Strong Wi-Fi, but is it too simple?
on November 26, 2019
Posted by: Nate34
from North Bay Area, Ca.
Wireless is getting close to wired as far as reliability and speed goes. And the strong wireless the Arris provides is great, and simple to set up. But for some that simplicity might be a con instead of a pro.
In the box you get the 2 Surfboard max routers, 2 power adapters, and ethernet cable. The routers look great. Ive always preferred my electronics to be have the flat or mattle black look and these fit the bill. The LED indicator light strip that lets you know the status, etc. adds a touch of class. There are 4 LAN ports for wired connections as well.
Setting everything up wasnt all that difficult. You start off with downloading the mobile app, creating an account if you dont already have one then going through the apps set up process which is pretty straight forward. Once thats all set up its onto the routers. There are multiple set up options in the app that you select depending on your set up. Mine is cable modem and router. Then again just follow the apps instructions on getting connected and online. Once online and registered you can pick a room name or name it yourself. For my set up it was just setting the main router in the living room connected to our modem, then the other router on the other side of the house. Create your connection name and password and you are all set. This did have a few more steps than similar router apps, but it wasnt all that difficult.
Once all set up, named, secured, etc. I connected my cell and did some testing. There used to be several “trouble” spots in my house where Wi-Fi was either very slow or would disconnect forcing my phone to connect to LTE. I do not have that issue anymore. And even better there are several devices that I do not need to run long ethernet cables for anymore. The wireless connection is very close to being as strong and fast as wired. But for normal things like using my laptop, phone, or my Nintendo switch it all just works now. And they work everywhere. No more hunting for a strong signal, having to go wired, or in some cases having to switch between 2.4 and 5ghz depending on location in the house. I also dont have any more ports available on my ethernet switch due to several consoles being wired, so its nice not having to always buy yet another splitter, or switch to accommodate another device. All that is a thing of the past which is great. Being able to play Mario Kart online anywhere in the house is amazing.
There is one con that advanced users might have an issue with. You are limited to the settings, etc. that are available in the app. I know some people like to tweak their routers with advanced settings and this doesnt have much of that. I know some prefer the simplicity, but its always nice to have that option to get into the advanced stuff. Now Im not sure how much if anything can be added as updates to the app. But for now its pretty much bare bones. So if you are an advanced user be aware of this.
So to sum it all up I didnt even know Wi-Fi 6 was so much better until I had it. And now that I do there is no going back. The simplicity of just being able to use Wi-Fi for almost all my devices, and having a solid, strong, and fast signal for the portable ones is awesome. And although being simple is great for most of us, there are some out there looking for more options to tweak the router to their needs.
Definitely a recommend for anyone sick of lost or slow connections or not having to worry about how your going to connect your next device via Ethernet if you are out of ports like me. Knowing we are basically future proofed as far as wireless goes is nice.

The Linksys Velop MX10 whole-home Wi-Fi 6 system gives you more speed, coverage, and capacity than it ever has before. Wi-Fi 6 combined with Velop's Intelligent Mesh™ technology delivers true Gigabit Wi-Fi speeds, up to 5.3 Gbps, to every corner of your home, even the backyard and outdoor smart home devices. Wi-Fi 6 also sends and receives multiple streams of data simultaneously and reduces latency, providing up to 4x more capacity compared to Wi-Fi 5 technology. So, it can handle the demands of up to 50 devices and more, from laptops and gaming consoles to smart home devices and 4K TVs, all competing for the same bandwidth. You'll also always have a more efficient Wi-Fi experience with OFDMA that enables more data to and from your devices in a more streamlined manner. And, with BSS technology, congestion is also minimized eliminating interference from nearby wireless networks to deliver a strong, clear Wi-Fi signal to your home, so you won't have to worry about your neighbor's Wi-Fi interfering with yours again. You'll even have 7x more battery life with Target Wake Time that reduces network interference, allowing your devices to remain in sleep mode longer. The MX10 whole-home Wi-Fi 6 system is a part of Velop's modular system, so if you need more coverage, just add more nodes. Plus, setup is fast with the Linksys app, so you can enjoy the next evolution of Wi-Fi in minutes.

En”Velop” your entire house with strong wireless
on November 9, 2019
Posted by: Nate34
from North Bay Area, Ca.
The Linksys Velop AX5300 Mesh system is great for blanketing your house or office with strong reliable Wi-Fi. In the box you get the 2 MX5 routers, power adapters for each, ethernet cables for each, and a quick start guide. The routers themselves are built very well and are a nice white that will match and fit in with most homes décor.
The set up was fairly straight forward. Placed one of the nodes near my modem, plugged in, connected one of the nodes to my modem. Placed the other node on the other side of the house near all the rooms that will need the stronger Wi-Fi. Initial set up is a cinch with the Linksys app. After launching app and allowing a Bluetooth connection the app searches for the nodes. Found with no issues. Immediately was connected to the internet. Then created a new Wi-Fi connection and password. Found the other node and named it based on location. Easy. Wish other routers, modems, etc. were so easy with no errors or app issues. This was on Android with a Galaxy S10 plus.
Once set up I tested my phone in a few of the normal dead or slow spots in the house. Prior to this despite our house being fairly small there were several spots that would either be very slow, drop connection, or not even show up as a connection. The Linksys mesh system eliminated this completely. In almost every spot in the house Id have full bars, maybe 4 bars in some spots. But no more dead spots or disconnects. And even in those normally slow spots I was pulling 40-50 mb/s or more. This is plenty fast for anything Ill be doing on my devices. But when in a good spot I averaged just under 200 mb/s down and about 5 up. Another issue it solved was completely dropping off my old Wi-Fi the second I walked out the house. Prior to the Linksys it would try to stay connected to Wi-Fi despite the connection being basically lost. And I wouldnt have Wi-Fi or LTE when this happened. So in order to get a connection I would have to toggle Wi-Fi off so it would force an LTE connection. This is also a thing of the past. Even outside I get a good connection which is awesome. No longer have to even remember to turn off Wi-Fi. One less thing in the day to deal with. There was also no interference with 2.4ghz devices like phones, etc. either although I never had this issue before.
Overall I am very pleased with this system. Super easy, quick, and straight forward set up. The nodes themselves look great and have plenty of ports to connect via ethernet or USB 3.0 for wired set ups. And most importantly the house (and even outside my house) is now blanketed with strong reliable Wi-Fi. I always know that I have a great connection without having to think about it, or tinker with my phones settings to get a connection. If you want a system where you can set it up then basically forget about your Wi-Fi knowing its just going to work I highly recommend this system.

Backyard Barbeque's will never be the same!

The Sonance Mag 4.1 Outdoor music system is one amazing package. In the box you get the 8” subwoofer with 4 3.5” speakers with stakes, the keypad, power cable, manual, and various install hardware.
Setting it up initially requires some mechanical/ electrical know how but isn't to overwhelming if you take your time and have planned out the install beforehand. The main thing is running wires, choosing locations for the speakers and sub woofer. All in it takes a couple hours or so and is a lot easier with someone to assist. My backyard isn't very large but just large enough to have the speakers evenly spread out for a great surround experience.
After everything is set up you can stream from a lot of different devices. You can also control your music via the app if you prefer that, or with the included keypad. The ability to stream from multiple devices is great. There is app support for streaming music services, but I prefer my good old library of music acquired through years of changing my preferred type of music. I basically have a bit of every genre.
The sound is so good. There is a perfect mix of crisp highs, accurate mids, and low bass for some of my oldie but goodie hip hop. Im really not into the current top 40 type of music so its for me its a lot of 80's and 90's hip hop, rap, and a lot of Seattle style grunge. It all sounds amazing. Well balanced and strong sound coming from all 4 corners of the yard with solid accurate bass. Hope the neighbors dont complain too much.
I cant wait to host my next backyard barbecue and surprise my friends that think Im just going to whip out the old boombox. No need to hunt down a bunch of DD batteries anymore, or have everyone huddling around someones phone for music. It will be a ton of fun being able to “take requests” like a DJ while someone else mans the barbecue.

Excellent TV!
By Faceman from Saint Paul, MN
I bought this TV after comparing several TVs at my local Best Buy store, and was a little hesitant since there were no reviews of it online yet since it is brand new. But after comparing a few options, I decided on this one and am so glad I did. The picture quality is outstanding, and I would say it is on par with some others that are quite a bit more expensive. The sound quality seems good as well. It has three HDMI inputs as well as a USB input (in addition to the other standard inputs), which is nice since some in this price range had fewer inputs. It was really easy to set up, and I'm very happy that I purchased this TV. The only negative at all is if you need more details from the user guide, the included set up instructions refer you to go online to the Sharp website, but this TV is so new that the user guide is not yet online. That wasn't a major problem since set up was really easy and settings are very straight forward. I would definitely buy this TV again if I was looking for another and recommend it to anybody.

Hello. Im still trying to get a new set after our huge earthquake in Napa, Ca. My nice 50" Samsung plasma bit the bullet. Ive been trying to find one that has a PC input since I use it to attach my laptop as well as others. And it seems like its so rare to see a pc input as well as more than 2 HDMI. And I see that this set has both.Still happy with it?

Great Laptop
By techjunkie07
I purchased this laptop a few days ago and man do I love it. This computer has everything I was looking for in a laptop (expect for an SSD) however I felt I could live without it considering the price for this machine. I have never owned an Acer always HP, had it for 7 years and it was time for an upgrade. I do really like this laptop fast, beautiful design and enough ports not to mention the PRICE again you wont be disappointed.

Should be at the top of your TV shopping list!!
By Nate34 from North Bay Area, Ca.
When I started TV shopping I did a lot of research and at first bought the 55” KS8000. I liked that but when the KS9000 went on sale I exchanged it for that. One of the main reasons I went with the 9000 was the design (mainly the stand). On the 55” version of the 8000 the legs are about 44” apart. My stand that I have been using for years for several TV's is only 42” wide. So I had to use a large piece of wood on top of my stand just to be able to set up the 8000. This didnt really look all that great, and I didnt want to have to replace my stand with a wider one. And thankfully the 9000 has a more standard V shaped stand that fits and works great on my TV stand.
And the 9000 also has some improved specs and also looks better in my opinion. I didnt really like the glossy back of the 8000. Anyway I really love this TV. Ive had several Samsungs, and my last set was the JU7100. But decided it was time to upgrade. I dont really miss the lack of 3D because I think I literally only used it once on my 7100 to test it. And I do believe 3D is on its way to being extinct. Anyway the new thing now of course is HDR. And the KS9000 really takes advantage of that. It simply looks amazing. There are several Netflix shows that show what HDR is all about. And I also recently bought the new XBOX ONE S. Ive yet to buy an HDR Bluray, but I will soon. But as I mentioned there is plenty of HDR on Netflix and Amazon Video in the meantime.
One of the really cool new features this years Samsung TV's has its the new Tizen system. It is much more simple and streamlined this year. My favorite feature so far is how well the TV detects whatever device you are connecting and names it accordingly. I have a PS3, PS4, XBOX ONE, 360, and a PC laptop all connected to my TV. And it names them all without me having to do anything. The PS3 and PS4 are both automatically labeled as “Playstation”. And the XBOX One and 360 are both labeled by their full names each. I didnt have to type out names like I have before when customizing my input names. As you can tell I have a lot of things connected to my TV. And since it has 4 HDMI ports I use 2 HDMI 3 way splitters. They automatically switch to whatever source is powered on. So my system is set up like this:
HDMI 1 = Direct TV
HDMI 2 = PS3 and PS4
HDMI 3 = XBOX ONE S
HDMI 4 = PC, Wii U, and XBOX 360
The reason I am listing these all out is because I want to add how smart this TV is. It switches the settings, input name, and device type on HDMI 4 on its own depending on whichever one is powered on. And I have different settings for PC and the Wii U and 360. I use to have to manually switch the input type every time I went from one to the other. But when I power off a device it automatically switches all the settings and input types on its own.
Of course a review of a TV without talking about picture quality isnt complete so here we go. Simply put its amazing. The colors and picture are awesome. It also has very good motion handling, especially if you set Auto Motion plus to Auto. But this gives you the dreaded SOE (Soap Opera Effect). Which I really dont care for. So I use a custom setting for Auto Motion (Blur 3, Judder 3, and LED Clear Off). This gives it very good motion handling with very little SOE.
As you read above I am a gamer. And one of the main things I look for when TV shopping is the input lag (or lack thereof). And this is one of the best TV's released this year for low input lag. In Game mode the lag is only 20.5 ms. This is great, I dont notice any lag at all. I was also thinking of getting the Sony X930D but decided not to for a few reasons, one of those is that it has about 54ms of lag. This isnt terrible, but would be noticeable in my opinion.
The other main reason I went with the Samsung over the Sony is that I am still not sold on the Android Smart platform. I tested it on a 2015 Sony and it was just too buggy. I have read it is better this year, but in my opinion the new Tizen is much better.
Another thing I look for in TV's is a good USB media player for videos on hard drives. And Im happy to say that the Samsung recognizes and plays every single file type I have tested. It also has SRT subtitle support.
So overall I am very happy with this TV. It is by far the nicest set I have ever owned and I look forward to years of use with it. If you are looking for a new HDR 4K TV this should be on the top of your list. If you want a cheaper alternative go with the KS8000. Just be aware on the 55” version of the 44” wide legs. On the larger versions the 8000 has optional closer leg mounts, but for some reason Samsung did not do this on the 55” version. Anyway thanks for reading. If you have any questions or comments feel free. Ill try to answer and respond.

The one issue I am having is that the source list and its icons go blank every couple days, sometimes more. This is a known issue and apparently Samsung is looking into it. As a work around you can hold down the power button on the remote to force it to reboot. This brings the source list back, but its still an issue. Its only the upper source list, the lower one doesnt go away. If you own the set you'll know what I mean by the upper one. Thankfully this is an issue that can be fixed via firmware update, but as of 1131 (9-23-16) it still happens. If it gets fixed Ill try to update my review.

1. I like the packaging! very nice box!
2. very lightweight!
3. these are very comfortable on the ears
4. don't like that I have to buy a "mod" kit for $$300 headphones that's just shady the stock ear covers are great though...
5. magnetic base is good
6. no problems with setup
7. the optical cable and USB cable are way too short
8. originally bought the turtle beach 800 elite. but returned it bc it was rather inconvenience to wear when reclining and gaming... these a50 do not give me that problem

10... buy the protection plan... all I've read astro service can be not what you want it to be., I'd rather just deal with best buy return dept...

Battery question
November 3, 2016
I know these have better battery life than the previous gens but have you had them actually run out on you? I have 2 sets of Gen 2's now that I just swap out when one headset dies and then start charging it. I use my A50's for all my TV audio not just gaming so they run out after about 5 hours or so, so Im hoping that the Gen 3's will always have enough battery to get through the day as long as I set them back on the charger when not using them. Thanks

Great headset
By Anthony
I have owned A40s and currently own a pair of last gen A50s. The new A50s make a lot of great improvements over last gen. No chat cable is great and the docking station acts as an external sound card for the PC and does not require an optical cable for full 7.1 which is awesome. Audio quality seems to be better that the old A50s. I would occasionally get some low buzzing noise in the old model but the new ones are crisp and have no such issues so far. Battery life is significantly improved and the auto shut off is a welcome addition(the headset senses that it has been put down and shuts off after 15 seconds. Once it senses it have been moved it turns right back on. Usually the audio is already coming in by the time I put it on my head). Build quality is super solid. Expensive but they sound great and are a quality product. I am not wild about the color scheme but I can deal with it.

Is this a flat or curved screen? There's no mention of the curved screen in the product description, but the photos show it as curved.

The KS9000 is flat. The KS9500 is the curved one.

Looking to replace comcast modem want to buy a compatible modem

I also had to replace my comcast modem and have tried 2 different brands since then. This first one I got was a Zoom, and then later bought a Motorola. Ive had less issues with the Motorola. But Im not sure if they carry that same model. Its been a couple years. Depends on what you want to pay. I see the Motorola SB6121 is only 69.99 right now and has excellent reviews.

Modem/Router

I am trying to stream Netflix to two different televisions.. Do I need to purchase a second Modem?
If so, will cox cable recognize a second modem? In other words, must I pay more and register a second Modem with them?
NO, you dont need 2 modems. All you need is 1 modem, and a wireless router. Then set up the wireless on the router, then any device that has internet can connect to the router by searching for wireless and entering your password.
