I bought this for my Mom because my 5 year-old Toshiba laptop, which I've had to reformat twice, is finally breaking down, and her HP desktop broke down last year too. She just needed something with basic features like checking her emails, FB, and etc. My mom, being in her late 60's, is very challenged when it comes to electronics. I suggested an iPad but she doesn't quite get the touch/finger gesture stuff. Was lucky that my brother had an extra Apple monitor and keyboard so set-up was a breeze. Took about 10 minutes. If you already have a monitor or HDTV with HDMI, this would be the best/cheap way to go. Our whole house is officially out-fitted with Apple products now! Shouldn't have the same issues/headaches that I had with PC's.

I recently purchased the a77 as an upgrade from my a57. Both cameras produce excellent quality pics. The LCD's are the same size, but as for the a77, there are more options. The EVF on the a77 is an OLED, but to tell you the truth, I can't really tell this difference between the two models. As for shooting speed, the AF on the a77 is incredibly fast..there are 19 focus points in the a77 as compared to the 15 focus points with a57. One of the main reasons for my upgrade is that the a77 is weather-sealed. Really looking forward to shooting more outdoor events!
The purchase included the 16-50 lens. Let me tell you, this is my new everyday lens! The lens has a constant 2.8 aperture. It's well built, metal casing with rubber zoom ring. Weighs as much as the camera body. The lens has a lock to prevent "lens creep".
This camera might be a little much for the beginner but for the more advanced shooter, you won't be dissappointed!

I've been saving up for this camera, and now with the announcement of the new rx-100 mkII, things have gotten exciting! I decided to buy the current model because I didn't need the hotshoe and tilting back-screen. I've only taken a handful of pics and like my NEX-5 and a57, produces some excellent quality shots. I was getting tired of lugging around my camera bag and now I'm relieved to have a camera that I can carry in my pocket which produces dslr quality pics. This camera will be getting a lot of use!!!

How Often Used:Daily
So, I purchased a pair of Sony studio headphones for $79 a few weeks ago, loved them at first but after wearing them for 1+ hours, they got to be uncomfortable. Unfortunately, I can't return them because I purchased them over 2 weeks ago. Anyways, I saw that these Bose were on sale for $135 and figured I'd give them a shot. I currently own a pair of the IE2's for the gym and running and I love them...the only down side is that you can still hear noise. Compared to the Sony's, the sound quality is just as good, although the Sony's seem to handle the bass a little better. As for clarity, the Bose sounds awesome...you can hear every instrument and they also drown out exterior noise. Now for the main reason for this purchase, the fit. As I'm writing this review, I've had them on for just over an hour and no soreness on my ears. I'm digging the fact that the ear pieces cover my ears, unlike the Sony's. If you have large ears, check these headphones out! I'm saving up to buy Bose's noise-cancelling headphones for traveling!

I use only these SanDisk cards for my Sony a57 and NEX-5. I have had no issues with these, unlike similar cards from PNY. These cards go on sale every other week, so I try and buy one when they do. With the 32 gig, I'm able to shoot around 5000 shots in jpeg and about 2000 in RAW.

Just recently bought these Sony's and so far I'm pretty impressed with the sound quality. I checked out all the brands BB had available and it was a toss up between the Bose and Sony headphones. They both had similar sound, the Bose sounding a little more crisp but also $60 more. Beats had a little to much bass for my taste since I listen to a variety of music. As for comfort, the pads fit over the ears quite well. I have pretty big ears. If you don't feel like spending $100+, these are an excellent choice.

I purchased this bag with my X-Mas money from 2012. I took it as a second carry-on on an overseas trip in January. I was able to fit it under the seat in front of me...planes were Airbus A360 and Boeing 747. I was able to fit a lot of equipment which included:
- Sony Alpha body and a NEX-5 body
- Lenses include: 18-55mm and 55-200mm (for both), 28mm macro, 50mm prime
- 3rd gen. Apple iPad (which fit pretty snug between liner and bag)
- Accessories in included bag

Overall, I'm very happy with the bag. I was going to buy the Stealth 550 because of the dedicated laptop sleeve, but the extra $100 turned me away. I recently purchased a MacBook Pro 13" Retina and I was able to fit it in where I normally put my iPad. Unfortunately, I have 2 other Lowepro backpacks which are just collecting dust in my closet because I use this bag all the time. This is the perfect travel bag for photo enthusiasts. Also, I purchased a Dashpoint 30 and 20 which attaches to the loops, to carry extra stuff like a water-bottle and snacks.

I just recently got back from an overseas trip. I purchased this card a few days before departure. After a couple days into my trip and about 1000 shots, the card became unreadable and I couldn't reformat it. Luckily, I backed up most of those shots on an external hard-drive before it broke. After this incident, I don't think that I will be purchasing another PNY product. Stay away from this SD card!!! Lesson to be had from this is to back-up everything and be redundant when doing so.
What's not so great: Doesn't work!!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I purchased this with my iPad so I wouldn't need to use my computer. It works flawlessly! I've recently turned to photography as a new hobby the last couple years and this has been a very valuable tool. It uploads pics surprisingly fast.

What's not so great: Can't use with iPad 4/Mini

Sony Cybershot RX100 vs Sony A5000 mirrorless? or any other suggestions?
I had a Cybershot RX100 that I felt worked super well for my needs..... however it stopped working after a year. I know someone who just got the A5000 mirrorless and loves it. Looking for any suggestions on why I would pick one over the other and any other models out there you might recommend. I just want something I can throw in a small bag if need be.... keep handy for multiple events, take on vacation but also take super high quality photos.... clear images,bright color, no red eye and user friendly for the "quick shot" please give feedback , greatly appreciate it!
Should check out the a6000. It has a fast AF, and the photo quality is awesome. The 16-50 kit lens will probably suffice but if you throw a Zeiss lens on there, it will step up your photo quality. With rumors of the a6100 being released in the near future, you can find some good deals on the current model. I purchased an open-box with kit lens for $479 a few weeks ago. It's my second. Good luck choosing!

Unfortunately, the a7 series don't come with flashes. If you purchase the a7s, you won't need a flash since the ISO is so high.

Yes! It's a nice lens if you're on a budget. Produces nice photos with smooth bokeh. It's great in low-light situations.
