Easy way to get into Game capture and Streaming

The Live Gamer Mini comes boxed with quick guide, a micro USB to USB cable and the product itself. It records up to 1080p 60 FPS gameplay for capture to a file or streaming. The speed of USB 2.0 connection did not slow the performance in my test and gave great looking video. There is no 4k pass-through so you will need to look to a more expensive device if you need that.
The device is recognized by Windows and Mac computers without installing additional software using the UVC Protocol. It is plug and play you can use OBS or RECentral 4. You can also install stream engine from Avermedia. If you install Aver Assist central it will update the firmware to the latest version and offer you downloads of RE4 and the stream engine. You will need at least 2 HDMI cables to use the device, these need to be purchased separately.
One caution, you will have to turn off HDCP with any source that has digital copy protection otherwise you will get a black screen. With a PS4 this is done on the console settings, for other devices you will have to find the settings or use a device or method easily discovered by our friendly internet search engine.
The cool thing about the device is it has hardware encoding and will not bog down your CPU while streaming or capturing.

Fantastic sound and comfort in a small package

The JBL Endurance headphones (headset, they have a mic too!) pack great sound in a small package.
These headphones are a separate right and left devices. The Right is the master. You can use them in mono mode by just using the right one. The headphones are stored in their own sturdy battery pack case. The headphones are rated for 3 hours of use, I got a little more. You can return them to their case to charge them again until it is out of juice then you will need to plug it into a standard USB charger,not included. You can use the included cord or a standard micro USB charging cord.
The sound is great with a wide dynamic range and good base. These are the perfect exercise/ sport wireless headphone, they fit well in the ear with the provided various sizes of interchangeable earpieces. Each headset arm rests firmly behind the ear without any discomfort.
The controls are build into the earpiece surface for various functions based on what you are using them for IE music, phone etc. The only problem I had is accidentally pausing music or video when trying to increase the volume.
Each headset turns on when you pull the ear support away from the main earpiece, they are magnetically attached. They turn off when you magnetically reattach them. This is great as there are no buttons or switches to wear out or let things in.
In my opinion these are the best headphones I have ever had for exercise or travel use.

Superhuman Hearing! Great Sounding Gaming Headset

The Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2 is a great gaming headset that is great for music also. They use 50mm drivers that pump out the sound. I really liked the bass and midtones. They have a superhuman setting for gaming so you can even hear the background whispers and steps so you dont miss a thing!
The gel cushions are very comfortable, you can wear them for hours and not get that uncomfortable feeling you get from other headsets. These headsets have what Turtle beach refers to as ProSpec technology to allow adjustments for eyeglasses for comfort and seal to prevent sound leak. You pull the magnetic cushion off and adjust a band that makes the channel size change.
The Superamp works great that is if you hook it up correctly. If you plug your pc into the wrong jack like I did the output will be very low and the Superamp dial will not work and the turtle beach logo will be red. Just FYI plug it into the front Jack on the amp not the back then everything will work great. For the PS4 you use the optical input for sound and USB for power. The Smartphone app allows you to set your profile and the various options for the headphones. You will need it to switch the headphones from PS4 to PC mode and to update the firmware.
Speaking of updating, you will need to download the Turtle beach PC software, plug the headphones into a PC or Mac. The software will automatically detect and update your headphones if needed. I had no problem with the update.

Overall these headsets have great sound and comfort. I have wireless headphones as well while they sound good, I feel the wired headsets always give superior sound without any cutouts.
I wish Turtle beach allowed Bluetooth to the AMP for PC and PS4 gaming, it has Bluetooth already and can connect to your phone or tablet this way I am not clear why that would not work with the PC or a gaming system. Maybe they could not get the bandwidth they wanted?? I also would like to see a native PC and PS4 app for the settings.
I wish Turtle beach allowed Bluetooth to the AMP for PC and PS4 gaming, it has Bluetooth already and can connect to your phone or tablet this way I am not clear why that would not work with the PC or a gaming system. The UE Megaboom 3 is the latest version of the Megaboom Bluetooth speaker from Ultimate Ears with a flatter top panel and dual-tone fabric.
The speaker comes in two colors at Best Buy Black and Blue. The speaker itself is Big, but will fit in your backpack and is light enough to carry around easily. It’s now IP67 rated, which means it’s dust proof and waterproof in up to three feet of water for 30 minutes, it also floats. This means you can put it in the pool while still playing music! The charging port has been repositioned, so you can charge the Megaboom 3 upright. You can dock it on the optional wireless Power Up charging stand which you purchase separately. A full charge will give you up to 20 hours on medium volume, louder and that will decrease.
I really like the “Magic Button” - You can play and pause songs with a single tap, skip tracks with a double tap, and, with a long press, select a playlist. You use the Ultimate Ears app to set up multiple playlists, and you can also skip through them with more long presses. For iOS, you can import playlists from Apple Music or Deezer if you use Android.
Other features such as PartyUp (link up to 150 Megabooms or Booms) and Stereo (Two Megaboom 3’s) can also be controlled through the free app.
Its Bluetooth range is much better than previous UE speakers (specs say 45m)
This speaker sounds great loud without over modulating. The Megaboom 3 has an enhanced passive radiator to give deeper bass with a better lower mid-range giving it a fatter sound. It can easily fill up a large room.
If you want a great sounding waterproof speaker with fun additional features and a great look you will love this one.

My new favorite keyboard!

Fnatic’s new miniStreak Keyboard is for those who prefer something compact or don’t need a number pad.
The miniSTREAK keyboard is 28mm at the thinnest point and weighing only 704g. It has rubber feet keeping the keyboard from moving during gameplay.
The keyboard looks cool with a black metal anodized metal top plate with a FNATIC Logo in the top left and a removable backlit Magnetic FNATIC plate in the front with configurable RGB backlighting of the keys and logo. If you are creative you could make a customized magnetic front plate. There’s a small backlit Fnatic logo on the space bar.
The Keyboard uses CHERRY® MX Switches these are know to be reliable beyond 50 million keystrokes per switch. Each switch has self cleaning contacts, resistant to dust, and fiberglass reinforced. You can pick a Red, Red Silent, Blue, Brown depending on your preference. My keyboard came with the Brown keys, this is the best all around key for gaming and typing.
There are dedicated mute keys for both mic and audio. A competition key turns off all the unnecessary features during gaming. The mute keys are in the upper right hand corner recessed to prevent accidental activation as is the function key in the upper left.
The Wrist rest is an innovative design, it is light and very adjustable. The base is detachable from the keyboard and the pad has 3 adjustable levels to fit any hand. The pad has a textured PU leather top and is attached to the metal base with neodymium magnets, it does not budge once set up.
The Fnatic Op Software is early access, it controls the options of the keyboard allowing you to set up the RGB lighting, Key bindings and Profiles. The same software controls their Mouse options. I did not notice any bugs with the latest version. You can download it at WWW.FNATIC.COM/OP
I found the Keyboard very responsive and great for gameplay. The Cherry MX brown keys have a great feel and action. This is my new favorite keyboard.

The new FNATIC Clutch2 is one of two new Fnatic Gear gaming mice. Fnatic Gear is outfitting the Clutch 2 with the best optical sensor on the market, this thing can track any movement your hand can make! The PixArt 3360 optical sensor has a maximum CPI setting of 12,000, and it can be adjusted in 100 CPI increments. The sensor can track movement with up to 50Gs of force and has up to a 12,000 FPS frame rate. The cable is rubberized and comes with a cable tie so you can use the full length (it is long!) or gather it to your desired length. The The main processor is a NXP 32-bit processor an improvement over the old Holoteck unit. Omron D2FC-F-7N’s are used for the main switches rated with a fifty million click lifespan The whole mouse has a two-year warranty very generous for a gaming mouse.
There are a load of features such as the ability to adjust lift-off-distance, DPI and RBG color Schemes. The Omron D2FC-F-7N switches have solid clicks and give you great sensory feedback improving game play and reducing missed clicks. There are are two thumb buttons on the left. The scroll button has just the right tension and no extra play, it is also clickable. The button behind the scroll wheel allows you to change profiles and is almost level with the mouse surface to prevent accidental changes during gameplay.
The profiles, RGP colors and pattern and the DPI as well as the lift-off are set up inside the FNATIC OP software. The software is early access at the moment and still being developed. I did not have any bugs occur with the latest version. The same software can control the settings of FNATIC keyboards.

This mouse just feels good in my hands, if you have a smaller hand the Flick2 may be a better choice. There is just the right amount of RGB lighting without being distracting. The FNATIC OP software is well designed and allows fine tuning of the mouse for any player, in addition once you set up the mouse you can uninstall it if you want or even move the mouse to different systems and it will keep the settings without installing the software. This is a great gaming mouse for at a very good price point, I highly recommend it.

All I can say is WOW! I did not expect this monitor to be so good.
The HP 27 Q is a QHD monitor that supports 2560 x 1440 resolution (2k) This is great resolution for gaming, with it’s fast 2ms response time the games look and respond fantastically. I think the panel is a TN panel though it is not listed anywhere I can find. Regardless the colors look great, and the monitor is very bright. The viewing angle is less than my 27er monitor but who uses their computer on an angle anyway, the comments I found about the viewing angle are only important when it is used as television in larger rooms with multiple viewers.
With 3.7 millon pixels to work with photos and Videos look great on this monitor. I use it to edit my media and it is much clearer than my previous monitors allowing me to see subtle color variations.
This monitor comes with a Vesa mount making it multi-monitor ready. The thin bezels are perfect for multi-monitor setups. There are HDMI, Displayport and DVI imputs.
The only real negative is the monitor is so bright you might want to turn the brightness setting down based on your preference.
If you are looking for a Great gaming or video/photo editing monitor with a lot of real estate and fast response time at a budget price than this monitor is for you!

Great Budget 4K UHD HDR TV with FireTV

The Toshiba 55 inch 4K tv with FireTv is a very good prefrormer for the price. It provides the latest version of the FireTv integrated into a budget 4K UHD HDR TV.
The TV comes well packaged with feet for placing on a dresser or stand the TV can also be wall mounted.
The remote is an expanded version of a stand and Amazon FireTV remote with a live TV , Netflix, Amazon prime video, HBO and PlayStation vue button. There is a volume rocker and a mute button as well. The remote and Tv are Alexa enabled and respond to voice commands. You can even add Alexa skills to the TV to control other devices. The remote is Bluetooth and infrared. Some things are not that obvious such as how to use the remote to get to the TV settings, Just hold down the Home key until the settings menu appears and then use the navigation circle and button to select the desired setting. You might want to adjust the dynamic contrast, brightness and contrast using the custom setting. While in the live TV mode or the AFTV mode use the three bars to select any settings available.
I spent some time watching a variety of content from Netflix, Hulu, Amazon and OTA all looked really good and there were no glitches at all. The OTA set up will need your Zip code to generate a guide which is included. Alot of reviewers remark about the poor black levels or the low brightness of the panel. Although this TV does not have the specs of much higher units I found it pretty good at playing streaming content including 4k. At this price point I did not expect it to match my LG OLED or Samsung series 6 QLED but it was not bad at all.
As far as connectors there are three HDMI inputs, a USB port, and an optical audio output on the left. Side and an Ethernet port, antenna/cable connector, and an RCA composite video input facing more toward the left center. It also has a power button that doubles and an input button on the lower right. The Wifi connected solidly to my 5ghz AC connection.
If you want a 4K UHD HDR 10 TV at a budget price and you are an Amazon Fire TV user then this is a great choice.

Great Sound, Cool new look!

I received the Rig 500 headset with the Pro model gaming headset for review, it really looks and sounds great. Plantronics has improved upon last years model with several enhancements. The Prom model comes with a Copper colored metal headband, this contrasts well with the other black components. The leatherette cushions are comfortable and provide great isolation from room noise. There are three positions for the ear cups to adjust for different size heads. The headphones are very comfortable due to the high density memory foam and the leatherette in the ear cups. The face of each ear cup is fabic and they breath well keeping them dry during use. They are very comfortable to wear and great for those long gaming sessions or movie watching.
The sound is great and with the free Dolby Atmos® activation credit for PC the sound in Atmos enabled content and games is incredible. Plantronics seems to have tweaked the response curve just enough to give great sound without over-boosting.
The mic has great sound quality. It does is noise canceling some positioning is necessary to avoid breath sounds. The Mic is removable and has a mute feature activated by fliping the mic up. The mic attachment is very stable and does not loosen with use.
The cable is flat tangle free design with a volume slider built in.
These headsets are a great value , they look and sound great! If you are looking for a gaming headset and don't want to spend a bundle these will fit the bill. It has added to my gaming experience with Atomos sound and the great sound Plantronics is known for.

Cool gadget, needs development

Clip is the new AI powered camera from Google. It is cool that they have packed there people recognition algorithm into a chip a feat in its own.
While the clip may seem to be a security problem it is not, all clips are kept and processed in your camera. Your clips are never uploaded, never sent to Google. There's no internet connection, the Clip connects to a single phone at a time by a Wifi Direct link.
You can manually train the camera to recognize people and pets important to you or you can “prime” the AI algorithm with pictures from your google photos. The AI is contained on a chip in the camera not on some remote server.
Google is serious about privacy your videos encrypted and Clips won't let other phones access them in fact it will wipe your Clips internal storage if someone tries. The only way to access those videos, according to Google, is to stream them wirelessly to your phone. You decide wat happens to them from there just like your other photos and videos.
The clips are assembled from still images into seven second clips. The camera decides what to capture looking for familiar faces or interesting activity with the AI.
The Camera captures a 130 degree wide angle view with optimal focus at 6-8 feet at 15 fps at 6-8 megapixel resolution in 1080p. The video is H264 encoded. The camera lens itself if gorilla glass.
You can export clips in many formats including MP4, Jpeg, and Gif. Using the Clip app you can extract single photos or export the whole clip.
You use the device by setting it somewhere and letting it automatically capture based on the AI. This is where training helps, I have the sense that if you train it more you will get more of what you want but that has not happened yet. Google will probably update the AI and provide a training routine as more of these get out into the community.
I was able to get some candid shots of my wife using the clip and the quality is good.
Overall I feel this camera has potential but it needs more development
for the $249 list price you can purchase better products. At a $50 price range I would buy it if you have Kids or pets you would like to get pictures of that you may otherwise miss. If Google adds more AI smarts and includes sound in new models then my opinion may change.
While the clip may seem to be a security problem it is not, all clips are kept and processed in your camera. Your clips are never uploaded, never sent to Google. There's no internet connection, the Clip connects to a single phone at a time by a Wifi Direct link.
You can manually train the camera to recognize people and pets important to you or you can “prime” the AI algorithm with pictures from your google photos. The AI is contained on a chip in the camera not on some remote server.
Google is serious about privacy your videos encrypted and Clips won't let other phones access them in fact it will wipe your Clips internal storage if someone tries. The only way to access those videos, according to Google, is to stream them wirelessly to your phone. You decide wat happens to them from there just like your other photos and videos.
The clips are assembled from still images into seven second clips. The camera decides what to capture looking for familiar faces or interesting activity with the AI.
The Camera captures a 130 degree wide angle view with optimal focus at 6-8 feet at 15 fps at 6-8 megapixel resolution in 1080p. The video is H264 encoded. The camera lens itself if gorilla glass.
You can export clips in many formats including MP4, Jpeg, and Gif. Using the Clip app you can extract single photos or export the whole clip.
You use the device by setting it somewhere and letting it automatically capture based on the AI. This is where training helps, I have the sense that if you train it more you will get more of what you want but that has not happened yet. Google will probably update the AI and provide a training routine as more of these get out into the community.
I was able to get some candid shots of my wife using the clip and the quality is good.
Overall I feel this camera has potential but it needs more development
for the $249 list price you can purchase better products. At a $50 price range I would buy it if you have Kids or pets you would like to get pictures of that you may otherwise miss. If Google adds more AI smarts and includes sound in new models then my opinion may change.

Does this replace the telephone co router
You will have to put the router in bridge mode and turn off wifi if it is also your modem if you have a seperate router then yes.

What are installation instructions & wiring requirements?
You have to have a "C" power wire. You essentially mark each wire connected to your old thermostat with little labels provided then push them into the terminals on the Honeywell themostat. It is a good idea to take a picture with your smart phone or camera. Some systems require a jumper this is described in the manual. If you get stuck you send pics of your current wiring to Honeywell support and then call them, they will walk you through a solution.

There is a way to point your your documenst, pictures , videos to any drive, windows will move the files there and future files will be saved there. While this can be done I do not reccomend it with removable USB flash drives ves permanently. You can temporarily move the file for update then maybe move them back. If you are low on space consider a hard-disk upgrade. ?? A good time to consider an SSD it will speed up most modern computers as well as extend operating time on battery.
