Great little flash drive

I got this on sale so the price per gb was great. I like this because it supports USB 3.0 (why don't all flash drives support 3.0 at this point?). The faster transfer speed is great. Also, it is just plain handy to keep in my laptop bag for when I need to transfer files quickly. It is easier to just do it physically using the drive than going through a cloud service when I need to transfer something that is in the same room I am working in. An extra bonus is that it is red so it is easy to find inside my bag.

Up front, I subtracted a star because I feel this should either be cheaper or be included with a new surface.
That being said, I think it is an excellent accessory to get the most out of your surface. The added tilt sensitivity makes art apps much more useful as this was always a limitation of stylus. The added detail of the pen over your finger when using any art app is a justification for buying this. The magnet to attach to your surface is also very strong so I don't worry as much as I used to about it being knocked loose while carrying around my laptop.

I bought this to replace my wife's current surface pro 2. I had considered getting her an iPad or other tablet as well but ultimately chose the surface book due to its versatility.
Having a full keyboard is a definite plus for when she uses it for her work. The screen is extremely nice which is boosted by the fact that it can be positioned just about any way you want it. It still blows my mind when you disconnect the screen to go from laptop to tablet mode. The screen/tablet portion feels lighter than it should for its size and it still retains the power of a full PC.

Listen to your playlist in peace with these Sony headphones. I researched for a long time over which pair of noise cancelling headphones to get. I compared the Bose QC 35's to the Sony's and overall am very happy I chose the Sonys.
Most online reviews tend to favor the Sonys but offer the Bose as a "safe" choice. Once I found out that Sony's higher quality sound LDAC codec is being integrated into future versions of Android (and already on my OG Pixel XL) I pulled the trigger.
Sound quality is excellent and I have had no comfort issues. The noise cancelling is great and easy to switch between different levels.
Overall, very happy with the purchase.

I have tried several chargers with my Google Pixel XL and none have given me the "charging rapidly" message. I finally ponied up a few extra dollars for the charger sold by Google on their Pixel accessories website (although a much better price through Best Buy).
My phone charges quickly as I was hoping. The charger also is not too big and the 2nd USB port is a nice option. I deducted one star for the price. I got it on sale and it was still $10 more than similar (though not Pixel quick-charging) chargers available from other retailers.

The combination of this dimmer switch with a voice assistant is great. You can be anywhere in the house and dim your lights to exactly where you want them. Add in the ability to set routines depending on any variable (ex. turn the lights on after sunset when I come home) and you can really see why there is a much greater focus on smart homes in recent months.
For just a few extra minutes of work, the in-wall design looks so much better than the other switch covers that are offered. It seamlessly integrated with my smarthome setup .

Only universal remote worth buying

In my opinion, this is the only universal remote worth buying. The integrations with smart home controls and voice assistants really add to the functionality and give you a reason to consider this. Also, the phone and tablet apps make it much more usable.
I subtracted a star because it is not always the easiest to set up depending on what you are trying to do - part of that will depend on the equipment you are setting up. Universal should generally mean universal so I do have a little disappointment in how it works with some of my HT setup.
It is not an out of the box ready-to-go remote. It does get my slight recommendation, but just be ready to put in the work to get everything how you want it.

Simple camera with a week of free recording

Overall, Arlo does what just about every connected camera does. I specifically bought an Arlo over say a nest/dropcam/etc... because you get up to a week of free recording. Any other camera I looked at makes you pay for basic viewing with your phone or over the internet.
It does well with night vision, and daytime picture quality is great. I also like that it is AC powered because I never have to mess with batteries. It does not have battery backup though, so you may lose recording capability in case power goes out. I prefer not hassling with batteries over worrying about a power outage but there are other battery powered Arlos out there as well.
Overall, very happy with it and I would recommend it over other connected cameras.

Good way to start out on a smart home

Up front, I'm only taking away 1 star for the overall smart home experience not this set.
The hub comes with a good collection of sensors to get a decent home security/monitoring setup going. My only complaint is that the motion detector is not pet immune so that may or may not be a detractor for you. I bought a pet immune sensor and use the included motion detector to trigger night lights where our dogs won't set it off.
There are endless ways to use the sensors and adding voice control through either Amazon Echo or Google Home really makes it all come together. I also have a Harmony remote system and Arlo cameras to round out the whole set up.
Everything does work together which is great, but here are hiccups where things you would think are obvious, don't work the way you would expect. I may be a bit more of a power user but I haven't found a way to tie my phone's alarm clock with the sensors to turn on lights/music/coffee when I wake up.
In the end, it's a well supported and growing system of interconnected services, so if you are willing to put up with having to learn how everything will work together, it is a really cool system. It's great to be on the couch and tell google to turn off (or dim) a light that's reflecting off my TV instead of having to walk over and hit the light myself.
In short I would recommend smartthings because it is probably the best supported smart home hub out there right now.

Will this charge a Sony MP3 players and iPhones? If not then want type of car charger will?
The built in cable is USB C so unless your MP3 player uses that, you will have to use your own cable and plug it in to the USB port. Same goes for your iPhone - you will need to use your own cable plugged in to the USB port rather than the built-in cable of the charger.

Does the hub chrip or make a noise when a door is opened?
The hub itself does not have a built in speaker or way to make sound. However, there are compatible sirens with or without lights that work with it. It can also use some networked speakers such as Sonos to play sounds through. If you happen to have an Amazon Echo or Google Home those can play smartthings sounds as well.

When you bluetooth a smartphone to a speaker, you still get all the audio notifications such as texts and alerts. Chromecast filters the sound going through it to only play the music or streaming service you want. Also, multiple chromecasts can give you multi-room audio whereas your phone can only bluetooth to one system at a time.

Possibly the only way to make it compatible would be to get the bluetooth adapter that Microsoft sells (think it's discontinued). Otherwise there is no way for this to get power, let alone communicate with another tablet that is not a surface.
