We'd had each iteration of the iPhone since the 4 and each one adds a little something to the previous without creating too much difference. This one is no different.
The screen on the 7 is beautiful. I hold my 6 up to it and it blows it out of the water. The speed is a little better, the base memory options are better, and I'm told the camera is better but I'm not a heavy photographer so can't speak to that in detail.
The lack of a headphone jack isn't a complaint for me because we use wireless headphones, but in the event they're dead the phone comes with a lightning connected pair. It even comes with an adapter so you can use old headphones with the traditional RCA jack if you want.
No, my big complaint is they changed the design just enough to where old accessories don't quite fit. We had to buy all new cases even though the previous cases were still in good working order.
It's a minor thing, but annoying anyway because I don't really see what the differences added to the design or functionality.
My favorite addition is the stronger glass (though one has already broken) and water resistance. It's good to see them finally ruggedizing their phones even if it's baby steps at first.
Still, very good, reliable phones that I will continue to buy.

Protect your iPhone 7 from damage with this Speck Presidio Grip case. An interior layer absorbs the shock of impacts from drops and dings, and the hard outer layer is tough enough to withstand a direct hit. This Speck Presidio Grip case has exterior rubberized ridges for a better grasp.

My son got this for an iPhone 7 and he loves it. It's compact and doesn't add too much to the weight or size of the phone. However, it offers some protection for the back of the phone and, most importantly for him, has rubber grating that prevents it from easily sliding around. He doesn't like the natural backing of the phone because it will slide across his desk or any surface he puts it on and this prevents that as well as saving it from scratches or light dings.

Nice For Little Things

We've had Zaggs on all our phones and they are good for small scratches and light dings. However, with the newer, more rugged glass on the phones it seems the breaking point is about the same for the Zagg as the screen itself. We had one of these on an iPhone 7 and the first hit to the Zagg took out the screen as well. I'm sure they're sturdy, but not sure they're necessary if they have the same breaking point as the glass.

My eldest bought this pair to with the iPhone 7 since it no longer supports an audio set without an adapter. He did not buy it for the sports aspect, but I've found him wearing them at the gym more and more often so they do fit that purpose pretty well.
I have the Bose Sport set, my youngest has the Jaybird brand and they're all pretty comparable. I think the Bose has the best sound range, the Jaybird is right behind it, and the JBL pair is just slightly behind both. However, the JBL batteries last much longer and the cable is a little longer so they're more comfortable when doing workouts.
They are also very comfortable in smaller ears which was the biggest selling point for him.
They're very solid earbuds and I wouldn't hesitate to get a pair.

Good Cheap Card

My son bought this to go into his older gaming system (Gamecube I think) and we just needed a cheap SDHC card for him to transfer files back and forth with. This one was one of the cheapest because the 16gb size is falling by the wayside, but it has more than enough space for him to use for the old system.
He was able to plug it and use it without any fuss and is still using it to this day so it must be somewhat durable to survive a teenage boy's room.

I already knew the caveats of using external hard drives with the gaming systems so I'm not rating them based on the limitations of the system. I'm ranking them based on the hardware itself.
The drives are nice, small form factor drives that do not require an external power adapter which is a nicety for sure. The run quietly (though they are both in cabinets so quiet may be relative).
I plugged them in, the systems formatted them without error and they've been running in place ever since.

Incredible Sound

I bought these to use while exercising or doing general outdoor activities. I had a pair of the LG ones, but the large bar that runs across the neck is uncomfortable when sweating. The Bose brand does not have the bar at all, but instead has all the functionality built into the earbud itself. Much, much better.
PROS:
The earbuds fit very comfortably inside the ear. They have a design that lets you rotate them into position so they're pretty stable without the need to bury them.
The sound quality is excellent. I've never had a pair of low profile, wireless earbuds get the range of sound that these things put out. The bass is solid, but doesn't overpower if you don't want it.
The thin cable has a clip that you can attach to your shirt to keep everything from bouncing around. It's something I didn't think much about until I began using it. Nice little extra.
It comes with a decent little carrying case that fits in a jacket pocket or has a belt clip if you need. I just like having a nice looking carrier instead of rolling it up and leaving it that way or trying to pack it back into a weak mfr casing.

Smart Outlet - As It Says

I wasn't quite sure what we'd ever need a smart outlet for, until Christmas time came around. That's when I decided it would be better to have our tree lights connected to something that wouldn't require digging behind the tree to turn off and on.
We bought this outlet because it was mid price range and I could verify it was Amazon Echo compatible. And it has performed very well for its intended purpose.
I was able to install and configure it very quickly. Integrated it to our Echo so I could just tell Alex to turn the tree on or off in a matter of minutes.
The only real negative I could say about it is that it has an audible relay clicking noise when you turn it on and off. Doesn't bother me or anybody else in the house, but I think some people would find it bothersome.

I bought these to go with my indoor lights of the same brand. The main reason we went with these was to be able to have them turn on and off automatically instead of relying on the wall switch or installing a light sensor.
Plus, I decided to have some fun with them and make them change colors for the seasons. It's nice to show a little holiday spirit without physically changing lightbulbs in sub zero temps.
My only complaint with these is the same complaint I have with all Hue lights. The colors span a wide spectrum, but there are certain colors that it just won't do even though it's on the color wheel of the app. Basic primary colors are good, but anything beyond that and you start to experiment.
The routines to turn them on and off (and adjust color throughout the night) work great. They were easy to install and configure. The app is ok, not great. But overall very happy with the purchase.

Great Device For A Great Price

We bought the Dot to go along with the Echo we already had and it's been a great addition. It does almost everything the Echo does, and some things the Echo doesn't do) for about a third of the price.
I already knew the speaker system in the Dot was not up to par with the Echo so I don't think it's fair to derate a product for something it wasn't intended to do. You WILL need an external speaker to listen to quality music on the Dot, but it's not necessary on the Echo.
However, my biggest complaint with the Dot is its integration with the Echo. Currently, I can find no way of tying all the Dots and the Echo together to make a home wide system. There's no reason it can't work as a paging system or interact with each other. For instance, I should be able to say, "Alexa, tell son's Dot to tell him to come downstairs" and it should repeat that on his Dot. I would also like to be able to say, "Alexa, remind my bedroom Dot to set an alarm for 7:00 AM".
The Dot does what it's intended to do very well and it's a great, affordable alternative to the Echo. However, I think it makes more sense to have them as accessories for an entire smart home.

And I still have room for a tablet (I have a Surface I carry) in the first compartment. It's one of the few backpacks I've found that actually give the height for this laptop.

Why can’t I get “create home” to save. It says “failed to save changes.
I couldn't get it to create a home in the IOS app and ended up doing it through the Android app. I've read there are a lot of issues since IOS 11 came out and I was using an iPhone (with 11) and an iPad (with an older IOS) and never had any luck, but the Android worked quickly.
