Purchased this as a 4K pass through receiver for my various game consoles to connect to my new LG OLED 4K TV (SKU 4358100).
Pros:
+ Excellent sound quality output
+4K and 3D pass through are great as my new TV does both
+ Is capable of using Yamaha Music Cast, which is essentially their own version of SONOS in that you can connect your phone/tablet to play music via your wi-fi to prevent the usual audio compression you get with bluetooth - essentially you can use wi-fi to get better sound quality when pairing your phone to it

Pros:
+ Very elegant dark wood
+ Bought mine for my multiple gaming consoles - plenty of space and storage for remotes/controllers
+ Very, very sturdy and heavy, so not easily moved or shaken if bumped
+ The insides of the glass cabinet doors are very well ventilated to prevent overheating of your consoles/tv boxes/receivers
+ Two things I didn't know till I got it are that it has brackets you can screw onto the back of it to wrap any extra cables around to keep them neat and tidy AND the backing of the stand behind the glass door compartments are removable as they simply magnet onto the back which makes it easy to remove and wire everything

Will this plug work outdoors for controlling holiday lights?
I do not believe that the plug itself is rated for outdoor use. You could probably use it at a covered outlet that would protect it from the elements. The only other concern is that it has to be within range of your Wi-Fi network. So if it's too far outside of your house/Wi-Fi range or it has a weak connection, the connectivity and therefore functionality will not be good.

Struggling I feel like they should've been better instructions I bought the two pack velop. I have it set up my question is does one of the units need to remain hardwired to the Comcast Xfinity box? Or can I reposition it to another location ?
Yes! One of the Velop nodes must remain connected to your modem/router as the "parent node". This is the node that will actually project and provide internet to the remaining nodes you place around your house. You can expand Velop up to, I believe, 12 nodes. So, if you're having a weaker connection in some areas, you can add more nodes down the line to the system to make it larger and stronger.
