You should know if you are looking at this game that it's a battle system focused type of game instead of a story driven series. Yep, another JRPG type turn based dungeon crawler. The music is good but as a dungeon crawler type game the levels could use a bit more work. It's easier to pick up than an Etrian Odyssey game though if you are worried about the difficulty. The game also has an issue similar to the Shin Megami Tensei game where it takes a long while to ramp up. As long as you know what type of game this is and are fine with it it's recommended.
I kind of wish Sega released the earlier DS, and two PSP games of the series in the US, I never imported those so I have no comparison to see what has evolved and improved in the series.

Monster Hunter always felt a bit too complicated and there wasn't enough explanation but that has gradually gotten better as it shifted onto Nintendo platforms. This game is still a bit learning by doing, but it eases the player in much better in steps than earlier games. While the last 3DS Monster Hunter was much better at actually providing an adequate amount of information without being forced online, this one is quite a bit more well paced in my opinion, with less difficulty spikes. It also has villages from earlier titles which is somewhat nostalgic and fun. I do think this title would be better on a home console instead though, with a more stable system for getting online with friends.
Also, you should have a Circle Pad Pro or a *new* 3DS, since that camera control helps considerably in game and avoids hand cramps like the PSP earlier releases in the series. I'm on the original 3DS and the framerate and game texture isn't enough for me to want a *new* 3DS unit as it plays fine.

Basically this is what you want if you liked the original Final Fantasy series in the 8 to 16 bit era updated. It basically fixes most of the issues the first game has and its much more balance and less back tracking, so it's more actual content than repeated content.

Best Wii U controller except touchpad features.

This controller provides much better control than the Wii U gamepad. The main thing really is the thumb sticks which seem to have more resistance and just feel much easier to move exactly to the level you want better. The buttons are also a lot less mushy feeling compared to the gamepad.
The main issue is you do loose the gamepad features when you do so. In some games it's not that big of a deal, like in Smash, Bayonetta and Kart, but other games it's more of an annoyance like Xenoblade X's fast travel, and in other games you really need the touch screen as it's integral to the game.
If you liked the Wii Pro controller, I highly recommend this controller, but it really is dependent on games you own and play most often on your Wii U.

If you want fan service version of Persona (like Persona Q on the 3DS), like the music of the series, and are somewhat into rhythm games this game is great. I think this is based off the Hatsune Miku engine, like most of the other rhythm games recently. Do realize that the game doesn't make a whole lot of sense in the main scheme of things (just like Q).
If the thought of this annoys you like it does some of my friends, then avoid this, but if you want more Persona music, and aren't bothered by the story aspect of this game, then I'd highly recommend it. It certainly isn't like Arena/Ultimax which has some semblance of trying to make it fit somewhat in the lore without really weird justifications.

Yeah it's cheaper refurbished from Nintendo in other colors and when sold in packs of two or more elsewhere. I just wanted a brand new one that matches with the color of my Wii U.
It's a Wiimote with Motion Plus already built in. I'm sure everyone practically knows what its is by now. Oddly mine has Player 4 LED not lighting up at all. Eh, I'll solder a new one on in a few years if I feel like it.

This game has really great mechanics. This game is great at distilling what was fun in the early 8 and 16 bit era games and enhancing them while getting rid of some of the issues caused by the limited hardware at the time. I really recommend this game if you liked early 2D platforming games. I even ended up buying this twice (on 3DS digitally as well) since I wanted it portable.
What really makes this great is the two player aspect you can do with the Amiibo. Yeah it's more DLC behind a plastic figure, but the developers have added enough to make it worthwhile.

That depends on the battery not the charger as it's putting out a constant amount of power to the battery, but on average this charger does it in 3-6 hours depending on the battery size. If you have a battery that's rated at a higher milliampere-hour (mAh on battery labels) it'll take longer, but that also means the battery has more capacity. Also for the charge lasting it also depends on mAh rating since that tells you how much capacity the battery has. You will want low self discharge Ni-MH batteries if you are putting them into something you need to last though since they perform closer to Alkaline batteries and don't loose charge as fast when idle. Sometimes you'll see them marketed as "pre-charged".
