If you are expecting crystal clear playback of your mp3s, this transmitter (and others like it) are not what you need. You constantly have to try to find a "quiet" channel, especially if you are driving across town or further. The charger feature is the most useful part of the device. So your iPod wil be fully charged, but you might not like what you hear.

I have had this product for a little over one year and I'm very unhappy with it. It just broke on me the other day so now I have to go shell out over 70 some dollars for a more quality product just like it. It was hard to find a station that you could hear your music clearly, and it always came in quiet so my volume would always be turned up to the max. (so then you heard that annoying whirring noize when the volume is up too loud)I dealt with the static because it seemed to help when I put my antenna down on my car. The only thing good about this product was it kept my ipod fully charged, but a couple days ago it just stopped taking a charge. I tried it in 3 different cars and it still took no charge. I also checked with my ipod, and it took a charge when I used my regular ipod charger. So obviously something is wrong with the product. For shelling out that kind of money I would expect something to last longer than a year.

This item works great. I bought it so the kids could manipulate the songs from the back seat or passenger seat....and they can. However, when I am in the car by myself, I have to stick the ipod in my cup holder so it doesn't slide around. That is the only downfall.....which isn't a downfall to me. I've had it over a year and it works consistently...no matter where we drive.
What's great about it: Works great
What's not so great: Doesn't hold your ipod in a fixed position

I bought this FM transmitter about six months ago and in the first month I got good reception everything seemed fine until about the second month I got constant static. I tried different stations it didn't work. The part of the plug that plugs into the Ipod; the black protector broke off, but it still worked. I am a very careful person and have no idea how it broke. The cord was a constant mess. Then about a week ago it didn't work it wouldn't charge or anything. I tried plugging it into a friends car and his friends car, but it didn't work. Now I have to buy another FM transmitter.
What's great about it: charges your ipod
What's not so great: breaks easily, static, and messy

This looks like the one guys. I just got my new nano and i tried one after the other in FM transmitters. This was the best one. Plus it charges the battery too. This was the best one i tried out of about 5 or 6 and i am keeping this one. FNALLY. Highly recommended.
What's great about it: Strong signal to stations, charges battery

Well when I first bought this it always had a little static but when I held it up next to my radio it was clear. So i went to my local hardware store and bought some velro strips for 1.50$ and then i velcro'ed the transmitter right next to my radio and it has been clear ever since.
