I bought a fmdirect adapter to use in my 2007 Ford f150 for my Sirius XM radio only to discover the newer trucks don't use the normal fittings for the radio antenna so now I need to know how to fix this.

This item is for newer satellite radio receivers than what i have; it wouldn't work with my vehicles antenna, nor would it attach to the satellite receiver i have (mine is probably at least 8yrs old). If you have an older receiver, this will not work for you.

Ok. So. I didn't know this about the unit when I bought it. My escalade was haveing issues with the radio (head unit) receiving a audio signal from the factory DVD player in the second row seats. So I thought. Hay. I use to have a fm mogulator way back in the day for when xm was xm and it first came out. I could plug any standards 3.5mm in to it and it would work! I'll just buy this and do the same. Well. Turns out. You can't do that with this. I even bought 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapters to try and see if it would work. No go. Apparently. The new xm radios send out a didgital signal and not a analog signal. And that's what you need. An analog signal. So don't buy this. At least. Not if your going to try using it like I was planing on doing. It won't work. You will need a iSimple IS32 TranzIt USB Universal...fm modulator. That's what I got. And after finding the left and right and ground audio wires in the wire harness in the DVD player in back. And running a simple rca left and right all the way up to the dash and connecting it to a rca/3.5mm adapter. It worked great! I picked the one up with the USB charger for 50$. Oh. You will need two Atenna adapters too if your going to use your factory head unit. The factory has a weird plug. Not the normal antenna plug. I hope this helps anyone who looking to do what I wanted to do.

I was just about to give up on Sirius due to the lack of strength by the FM transmitter, then I discovered the direct audio relay. This thing is awesome. Before I would have to turn off my sirius and rely on either "traditional" radio, or CD's whenever I was within 30 miles of DC. Now my Sirius rocks wherever I go. The install was very easy, although my Sirius power plug broke when I disassembled the dash. But this just gave me a reason to revamp my entire install and make all of my wires hidden, just required a trip to the hardware store for some splicing material and an inline fuse holder. Now my reception is crystal clear and I've regained my power plug. One warning though, if you've got a Chrysler you're going to be on the hook for about another $30 for adapters.
What's great about it: Clean Clear Reception, Easy Install

The Best Buy salesperson took down my info- what kind of radio I had- and immediately had me buying this model. A week later, it arrived- not compatible with my radio. Sending it back was easy and painless, and refund was posted quickly. But check with Sirius/XM before purchasing, to make sure you are getting the right adapter, not the one that is "right" because Best Buy sells it.

fair price but not the greatest quality & overall I do like it but the product could be upgraded a bit more. So anybody who gets this product should take this into consideration before buying this item.

I strongly recommend wiring the receiver directly vs. wireless. The wireless reception was terrible. I installed this in 10 minutes and have no complaints. The sound quality is so much better than broadcast radio.

It took less that 3 minutes to install. No power connections. Just slide your FM radio from the dash, plug in the antenna connectors, slide it back and plug the wire into your Sirius unit. Goodbye static and all intereference.
What's great about it: No More static, interference or changing FM freq when traveling
