First of all I dont Know what some of these ratings were saying, My tv calibration was performed with upmost satisfaction. Our Installer was extremely kind and helpful, he walked us through step by step with what he was doing. At the store our sales associate did a great job about explaining the benifits to me. I love my calibrated tv and I don't know why anybody would't accept this service. I am extremly satisfied with my expirience, the only thing I can think of why this has a few bad ratings is all because of the particular installer and not the service itself. thanks best buy!
What's great about it: Everything, clearest pictures I have ever seen
What's not so great: No complaints
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is the best service that I think bestbuy has to offer for its customers. My mouth literally dropped after the calibration was complete. If you do purchase this calibration and you are buying a tv $999 and up, you get 100 dollars off the entire purchase which I think is an excellent deal. The geeksqaud agent that came to my house was very friendly. He even took his shoes off at the front door! If you love watching tv and movies, then this is defintely the right service for you! Be prepared to watch the drool run down the side of your mouth when the geeks are done professionally calibrating your HDTV! Amazing!
What's great about it: Mouth dropping effect
What's not so great: NONE!
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have a sony front projector with a 100" screen. I already had my 52" sony xbr calibrated a few months back. I did not know that i can also calibrate my projector. After the calibration was done, the black levels and white levels improved dramatically. Take it from me, you will see a difference in picture quality by upgrading cheap cables to monster cables but the best picture upgrade is getting it calibrated.
What's great about it: dramatic improvement in picture
What's not so great: none
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not a fan of the expensive calibration. Geek Squad here less than 20 minutes. Did do anything with wires or help with other questions i may have had. I think the color looks faded, actually looked better before calibration........
What's great about it: Nothing!!!
What's not so great: Color looks faded, Geek squad here less than Twenty minutes. Not worth the mney

Don't waste your money. My appt. was rescheduled then they showed up three hours late. The calibration consisted of the "Geek Squad Agent" going into the service menu adjusting the white balance and then adjusting the contrast and brightness. $199 for that? Really?
What's great about it: Nothing
What's not so great: Everything
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

After all the reviews I started to be comfortable with the fact that I spent money on the calibration. The guy seemed nice enough but barely spoke 10 words, didn't explain anything so I don't know what he was doing to my tv. After he left, when I had a chance to watch TV the picture quality was TERRIBLE. I have to keep adjusting the settings each time I turn on the tv. I'm going to call Best Buy to see about getting this resolved. What are the odds that I would have the only bad calibration service? Will write another review if there's something to report (hopefully good!)
What's great about it: unlocked factory settings
What's not so great: worse condition than when first installed tv, cost
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best $300 I spent for My TV
on November 29, 2010

I had my TV calibrated by one of the Geek Squad guys out of the Rancho Cucamonga store and my TV looks great. I didn't buy one of the top of the line TV's but know that i have my TV calibrated it looks better that the more expensive one. Great Service

I was pressured in the store to purchase this service, the managers of Bestbuy took money off my 55 inch Samsung LED, I finally agreed to it but still not seeing the value. Getting it scheduled was a pain and the Geek Squad Office was rude and not very understanding. Once they finally came out to do the process the Geek Squad agents weren't very helpful and they left my livingroom a mess. And honestly the the tv looks more vivid and appealing on the vivid setting. Bestbuy has lost a loyal customer because of their lies and insistancy on selling me something that in my opinion is a scam so Bestbuy can make money.
What's great about it: Absolutely Nothing
What's not so great: Self Explanatory by Rating
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
