Buyer Beware! Best Buy sells refurbished Kitchen Aid mixers as new products. Brought a brand new mixer and was disappointed to find that the beater was scratched, a nick had a bad paint job, and there was a wire sticking out of the handle. Returned it and got another mixer. Same problem. This time the bowl was scratched in several places, and ther was a nick under the handle. See photos below.

Had manufacturer flaw/ short circuit

After a few uses, the unit sparked, smoked, and shut down. It had a short circuit that caused my electrical breakers to blow out.
Luckily no fire.
The replacement has been working great and hasn't killed us yet.

Piece of Junk

Only used it about 10 times and it made a clanging noise and started smoking. They have a 1 year warranty and after that you have to pay to get it fixed. They used to be good mixers but now there cheap junk. Don't waste your money!

Mix Smarter not Harder

I was excited to get this mixer. I knew it would open my mind to more baking and new recipes. It was shipped with all the proper pieces and securely packeged in styrofoam.

I decided to make homemade mango pies and the dough came out nice and fluffy with an even consistency. I combined all ingredients using each setting. The lowest setting was powerful enough to creme my shortening, sugar and egg mixture. Because this mixer is so heavy, I expected it to make a loud humming noise but it didn't. It wasn't loud at all.

It was so easy to tilt the head and then remove and replace the attachments. I didn't have to fight with the bowl to rmove it or to put it back in place. Use of this mixer made everything easier. Not to dim the light on the capabilities of this mixer, but its appearance, sleek, shiny look is an added bonus.
